We moved mom from an assisted living community in another state into my home during COVID. FirstLight provided a thorough assessment of mom's needs and staffed 24-hour care with perfectly matched caregivers (Hager, Abi, Ruby, Violet, Tanya, Janae, Marian, Kristina, Patricia, Keshia, Annette, & Shawna) . Each one possesses their own strengths and gifts, yet all of them without exception, provide a safe, caring, engaging and fulfilling day for mom. Mom is the healthiest she's been in years and I attribute that to being able to keep her at home with the excellent care provided by the team at FirstLight. We are thankful for you all!

Kylah who works in the sales office gave me an extensive tour of all the amenities and I must say I was impressed. The rooftop view is absolutely stunning, on a clear Day you can see Crowders Mountain. There's also a lounge, a gym, a heated outdoor pool, and a private seating area with a Kitchen to entertain your friends, family or guest. On the main level there's multiple televisions overlooking a play yard of billiards, and playful games but the most memorable part of the main level is the beautiful, serene zen garden. Last but not least, the security in this building is amazing, you need a key fob to access all floors and the common areas. 509 West Trade is within walking distance from downtown Charlotte which is a win-win; so of you are looking for an apartment option in Charlotte with great amenities and great people look no further, 500 West Trade is the place to be.

Hello all, This is…read moremy personal review based on my experience living here since August. Please take this information as you see fit. When I first moved into the South Tower, my apartment wasn't ready on the scheduled date. The floor was dirty and the bathroom hadn't been cleaned. I'm not a picky person, and to their credit, they took a couple of hours to clean it after I had mentioned it, however it should have already been ready from the start. My biggest problem was my blinds. They were broken by the previous tenant, and despite calling multiple times and submitting several work orders over the past few months, they still haven't been fixed. The last update I received was that all the blinds were different sizes for different apartment windows, the replacements they had didn't fit, and they're now waiting on a small sample to test before ordering more. It's worth noting that I haven't closed my blinds since I've started living here. Here are the pros and cons of living here: Pros Living in Uptown is extremely convenient -- close to everything, but just far enough that traffic isn't overwhelming. If you get the right unit, the skyline and sunsets are beautiful every day. Pricing is reasonable for the area. I pay $1,400 for a studio. Front office staff and 24/7 concierge are consistently friendly and helpful. There's a pizza spot and a coffee shop downstairs within walking distance. Cons The biggest issue: the water goes out frequently. Since I've lived here, this has happened about 4-5 times, at various times of the day, including today, which is why I'm writing this now. There's no reason water should be shutting off this often. It's a dog-friendly community, but there's been moments where I've stepped into the elevator while there was dog urine on the floor on two separate occasions. Metropolis parking feels like a scam. When I first moved in, overnight parking for guests was $8.99 for 12 hours. Now, parking more than 2.5 hours is automatically $30. On top of that, residents still pay $40/month for garage access, not included in rent. To this day, I'm unsure how I can get parking passes. There wasn't any real explanation when I first moved in. Homeless activity is expected in Uptown, but it often concentrates directly outside the building. It used to be worse when people were sleeping inside the stairwell of the parking deck, behind what is supposed to be a locked door. That has since been fixed, but it's unsettling for residents who come home late at night. Package room access has become restricted. When I first moved in, residents could access the package room at any time. Now, due to past package thefts (which never happened to me personally), the concierge has to open the door every single time. It's understandable for security, but it's also inconvenient if you're trying to grab something quickly or outside of busy hours. Maintenance is extremely slow. They're stretched thin between two buildings, so work orders can take weeks. Reaching the office by phone is nearly impossible. Before I moved in--and even now as a resident--getting someone on the phone is a struggle. There have been days where I've had to call 5-6 times at different hours just to ask a simple question. That shouldn't be happening. CMPD is routinely called out here for various issues. I keep to myself, but the police presence is noticeable. Overall: If you're looking for reasonably priced Uptown living, this place works. I'm not a picky person and most issues don't bother me personally. But the frequent water outages are the main reason I felt compelled to write this review, that's the one thing we shouldn't have to deal with as residents.

Highly recommend reading all the reviews before moving in - there is a reason people write such…read morelong negative reviews, and I haven't seen one that is inaccurate in any way shape or form. Rude leasing agents with a PHD in gaslighting. Maintenance that is clueless and unresponsive. Elevators that hardly work (yes that means you are either locked on your floor, or outside until fixed). Had a squatter living next to us for over a month cooking meth and we had no idea until the cops showed up in our hallway to kick him out. Only good thing about this place is consierge, but the consierge company changes every three months because they can't handle it (nor should they) will follow up with photos & screenshots from leasing office.

One day i came home to pipes busted in the roof of my unit, located in my closet. all of my clothes were destroyed with mildew and mold. my closet quickly formed mold TOP to BOTTOM, and upon further inspection- we were infested with mold. down the hall way, in the bathrooms, every crevice had some form of mold. it was horrible. we expected to have some guidance/ assistance/ or maintenance help from the leasing department but when i tell you that did absolutely nothing, it was laughable. they kept us in the mold infested unit for nearly two months with nothing done, no mold removal, no financial compensation for the storage unit we had to invest in to keep all our clothing, blankets, furniture that couldn't be in the apartment due to the mold and moisture. Morgan Olds (current leasing agent on duty) was one of the rudest and unhelpful people i've ever stumbled across in this field (i work full time customer service and was a realtor for multiple years so that is saying A LOT). he was hateful, inattentive, and negligent to the point they wouldn't allow him to communicate with us- they sent us straight to his boss when we had a problem, whom was lovely. shout out ashely!! though we weren't provided a sliver of help from either one- ashley did provide empathy for our situation We ended up having to break the lease with them due to inhabitable living space and negligence. which was a huge blow financially as we couldn't afford to just pick up and leave with no where to go. I now live 8 minutes down the road in a luxury apartment, same price. great staff and amazing perks. STAY AWAY!!!!!! Ps. all of my neighbors complained of mold and roach infestation too, but we had kitties solving that problem for us so we only had few interactions with the creatures!

Whenever I visited, I was treated warmly, and my father was always resting comfortably in a clean room and a pristine bed, with carefully laundered, comfortable clothes. He had dementia, so he was unable to tell us how the staff was treating him (and never having been the type of person to complain) we had to take non-verbal cues. All the cues pointed to a staff that was both patient and caring. Trust was essential to us and something we considered heavily before deciding on a place for our beloved father. During his final days, our family experienced feelings that I cannot properly put into words here. Likewise, I am unable to express how sensitive the staff was in their treatment of my father. I imagine that they deal with loss on a regular basis, but never once did they regard our grief casually. My father was a kind, gentle, man and was known for his singing voice, his whistling, his love of jazz and his love of the Word. The staff made sure he was able to enjoy all these things during his final days. They all knew him by name, and said he was easy to care for and easy to care about. This was evident in their heartfelt farewell. You can not pay someone to care, and [care] is what they did here. Perhaps I have not adequately relayed, but in my heart I will absolutely, always appreciate every last member of this staff for giving of themselves so selflessly, when it counted most.
