I contacted A People's Choice for the BK document preparation fees, however after more time and consideration I decided I would not be pursuing BK. I requested a refund because I no longer needed their services, which was denied on the basis that their fees are non-refundable. No work was ever performed by a staff member at A People's Choice. All communication I received, except for the denial of my refund, was done so my an automated email. I was provided access to an online portal where I entered all of the information to later be populated onto the forms. All the work completed to-date was done by ME, however I cannot receive a refund because "their fees are non-refundable." My experience has been frustrating. read more

1. When I initially called to inquire about the services, Alex answered the call and was very friendly, engaging and professional. Once I paid, they refused to take my calls and directed me to send emails and stated that email was their sole means of communication. When I pressed them for a response as my email was down, they Sandra and Alex said they charge $15 per call and increasing based on length of call. Mind you, this is a condition which wasn't disclosed to me at the beginning. 2. I paid and completed and sent them all the documents around first week of December, yet those same documents didn't get filled till first week of February. 3. I overpaid by $170.00 and they denied that overpayment and refused to issue a refund till I visited their office and they pretended to be busy with clients then left or locked themselves and would not take my calls or let me go to the office. I contracted for a $3,900 probate service and as of 1.5 years later I've received NO completed Probate, document from A People's Choice. After the initial submission of forms and the $3,900 free A People's Choice FAILED to contact me in a timely manner to request additional documentation from me or to update me regarding the status of my Probate. After paying $3,900 I received 1(one) email, which in my grief I overlooked, after which I received NO FOLLOWUP WHATSOEVER ! The most incompetent people I ever worked with! God, they don't know the difference when you request a client to SEND and MAIL, since you are corresponding to them thru email, clients would assume they will email it. I had to rehire the detective agency because they lost my original summon and blame it on me for their incompetence I had enough and ask them for all my paperwork. I send them my new address, and they say they are not incompetent, arrogant lot, they mail it to my old address! The nerve of that V. The sole reason for using this service is to get legal documents without the expense of legal fees. Maybe you get what you pay for. They take your flat rate fee up front, so you have very little recourse if things do not go well. Any questions, changes get fees added on. I needed a simple Trust and Will. It's pretty much a standardized form, probably what you could get from Nolo Press, but I thought there might be some advantage in using this company, which was recommended by a financial planning firm. However they provide no additional information other what's on their questionnaire. It's customized for you, but that's by typing in your info. to a boiIer-plate document. I provided all the information, names, addresses, etc. in an email. They sent back a pdf form filled with typos. I noted the mistakes in the pdf dialogue box with a detailed email citing page numbers. They sent back a partially corrected pdf. I sent back more corrections. It is quite time consuming finding other people's mistakes in a 74 page document! They sent back the ORIGINAL version with all the original typos. They have no system for knowing which version they are working on, and give every document the same name, eg. "Estate Document". I had to explain simple file management business procedure to them - you need to put a date or v.1, v.2, etc when you make changes. I would like to have charged them for my time, but unfortunately, I had already paid in full. I asked to have the 74 page document in sections: Trust, Last Will, Durable Power of Attorney, etc. No - can only be all in one document. Then they sent the printout - in separate sections - with page numbers that did not correspond to the original document because they were now in separate documents, so p.62 might be in Last Will section on p.5. Another proofing task for the client since I needed to make sure they sent the correct and final version. They are unprofessional, have no sense of customer service, no attention to detail, insolent when confronted with more of their own mistakes, never apologized, no tech savvy whatsoever. Save time and money: buy the Nolo Press online packet. Then you can fill in all the blanks yourself and save time finding other people's typos. read more

On July 1st I decided to utilize the A People's Choice services online. I saw they had an A+ rating on the BBB website and according to their business information, allow a 24 hour cancellation. After signing up and entering some information into their 3rd party database, I decided that I no longer wished to utilize the service. Less than 12 hours later, I e-mailed them asking if I may cancel the order but I did not receive a response. This morning I checked my bank account and the $150 was debited. After I e-mailed this morning once again and included words like "refund" and "chargeback", I received a response including the Terms of Service I had agreed to, and an explanation that they utilize a 3rd party service and since I had gained access to said database, I could not simply "un-ring the bell". Now I understand contracts and service agreements, and working at my current company I've learned a lot about fair business practices. When a customer calls, e-mails, or mails a letter requesting to cancel their service, the first thing I would ask is why they wish to cancel and if there is anything that I could to to remedy the situation. What I received is an e-mail with the Terms of Service attached and a simple explanation that there are "no refunds". Although I thoroughly appreciate being shown what I'd electronically signed, I feel like any business representative, especially the owner would inquire about why it is I wish to cancel. That simple gesture, or lack thereof showed me that it is not so much about what is best for their clients, it's about the box that was checked and whether I am contractually obligated to pay for it. I'm not saying that I didn't check the box, or that I didn't enter some information into the 3rd party site, what I'm trying to convey is the absence of fair business practices. It is easy to disregard someone completely and show them something to which they electronically agreed and not give them or their situation another thought because there will be others like me and they will thrive on others like me. What I hope that prospective clients will gain from reading this review, is this.... If you are considering utilizing their services, please make sure you indeed wish to use them because they will not issue a refund regardless of how little they've actually provided and also please keep in mind that you could more than likely utilize the same third party site that they've used at a fraction of the cost. read more

I can only say that my experience with Sandy and her team was nothing short of perfect!
