My wife and I used A People's Choice to file the documents necessary for a Move Away order vis a vis our child custody case however they made a monumental mistake when they provided us with the wrong date for our court hearing. Less than a week before the true court date, a family law attorney we retained (to err on the side of caution), caught the error. Praise God we hired them as the date provided by A People's Choice was a month after the true date! If our attorney had not caught the error made by A People's Choice, we would have missed our hearing date which quote possibly could have caused us to lose the case. When I confronted A People's Choice about this with the very email they sent me detailing the incorrect date, they said the correct date was on the documents in their portal and I should have looked at that instead! No apology. Nothing. Do nor use this company! Their lack of attention to detail and their "it was not our fault" attitude is extremely unprofessional. I would NEVER use them again! read more

I would not recommend working with these guys. It literally is just you filing out all the forms with guided questions, except you do it online. No service to assist in navigating the forms and no assistance in filing the forms; which they make clear when signing up. Also, not the friendliest disposition from Sandy or the staff. If you are not familiar with the legal process this is likely not the best route to assist you in filing needed legal paperwork. I think if they hired a customer centric staff member to answer questions in a friendly and helpful manner. Had someone to follow up to answer question and make sure you are clear on the process I really think this could be a great resource for families. But after 6 months of working with them I assure you, service is not what to expect. No disappointment here. The service was easy and painless. It might have been nice to have a discussion by phone, but it was still quite easy and quick via email. There was also an additional fee to have the paperwork filed electronically with the court over and above the initial court filing fee that took me a bit by surprise. He said he didn't think they offered writing up trusts like. I said i found a whole webpage on their site saying they do that's how I found them and called. He said maybe we do maybe we don't. I said ok, if you don't...then he started fast-talking, "it's probably the same as any trust" and "I haven't done the one you want but i've done 100's of others, maybe someone here has, probably has". I say, ok but this is super important and my confidence was shrinking when I was listening to you, this is significant for us and important...[click]. Chase hung up. I called back, Hi this is Amanda again {click} Chase hung up, again, and 1 final time the 4th time i called the 'corporate number' to talk about Chase. Guess who answered, Chase. Chase back-peddled fast, then said phone dropped...I say, "3 times"? i'm closing soon and phone just dropped, then he went on and on and on blaming me, are you traveling? can't blame me for bad connection, etc. I said not one of many calls I've made today has dropped, my connection is good. Coincidentially, I say, this one hasn't dropped while you were talking. I tell Chase I called to complain to corporate that if you didn't have time because you say your closing for the day just say that. If you don't know the answer, say that, and say you'll find out and call me back. Say something but do not hang up on people looking for help. Your company puts itself out there to help people in need who don't have attorneys. It's a big deal to find someone to help so do us both a favor and just tell them you want to go home and call back tomorrow but never hang up on someone. Choose to be a professional. I had to complete and file some legal documents and initially I thought, how difficult could it possibly be, but after a couple of failed attempts, I knew I needed help. At first I was very skeptical since they don't have many reviews on Yelp, but then after I looked through their website and saw how open and informative their website was (they posted all their service info on their website), I then decided to give them a try. The moment I got off the phone with Sandy, she and Susan immediately started working on my documents. They looked at my previous filing, corrected all my mistakes and then completed and refiled all the documents for me with just a few back and forth emails. I cannot say enough about the time and money this company saved me. With their help I finished Probate in Tulare Co on my brother estate in little over 12 months. I am a letter carrier with no legal training, yet , I completed the entire process mainly because A People's Choice walked me thru each step. Yes there were additional postage fees but only for the extra mailings I used. They filed most papers electronically which resulted in me needing only three court appearances ( and saved me from many trips to Visalia. Keep in mind, all probates are different but if you have limited resources I recommend this company. When you first call in to obtain their services they are very nice and will tell you how easy the process will be and how much money they will save you. After I paid the initial fee and started the probate process, which is very tricky. They set me an an interview to fill out regarding my probate. When I had questions I called and the service turned very rude and I was told there not attorneys and they can't answer any questions that I would have to consult with an attorney. Even though they now the answer! After being nickel and dime to death. I could have just used an attorney and had less headache and heartache then dealing with this company. I don't know about their other services I can only attest to my experience regarding a probate. I have spent as much with them as if I had hired an attorney. Be careful, I wouldn't advise using them for probate. They are very unhelpful and once they get your money they become very rude! If I could give a negative star I would have. Update..in response to the owners response I did not do anything against probate laws. I was 50% owner of the property and I was listed as tenants in common 50% with the other owner. Again, I filled out the last interview and got confused. I did use my 1/2 of the sale of the house and purchased a new house. The other money was put into an estate account which I provided them a copy of. I was charged another $500 because my case went over a year but it took several months to get the appraisal done, which they know as they even called him and he wouldn't talk to them. I discussed how I could go about changing to a different appraisal person and Sandy gave me information how to turn this person into the board. I went ahead and paid the 500.00 to finish this case. I'm sure they do good work for a lot of people. My final paperwork was mailed out over a week ago. I'm just sharing my experience. Filling out the interviews is hard especially if you have never done anything like this one wrong answer can mess your whole case and if you ask questions they can't help you. I am friends with somebody who went to Kaydi for bankruptcy. In fact, I went to two of their meetings and saw the outcome first hand so I feel qualified to write this review. First of all, readers need to understand that a paralegal can't give legal advice. So, if you're wondering whether or not to pursue some legal process, she can't (and won't) advise you. You should talk to a lawyer if you want advice as to whether a legal avenue is right for you. However, once you have decided to go a certain direction, she can (and will) help you with that. Once a lawyer has advised you and you decide to go forward, their paralegals do the vast majority of the actual implementation... especially for stuff like BK, incorporating, non-contested divorce, etc. So why not piece it out: see the lawyer for the overall plan and hire Kaydi to do it. You'll save money, things will go faster, you'll know the status because she's not hidden in a lawyer's back office, and she'll do it right the first time. My friend was struggling with the concept of bankruptcy. But his divorce, along with a 25% wage garnishment forced his hand. He needed that automatic stay in order to stop the attachment. In his first meeting with Kaydi, she gave him reading material along with a link to court-required "courses". Additionally, he was given a link to the bankruptcy section of her website, so he could supply detailed information such as creditors contact information, etc. As soon as he was done filling everything out online, she called him a couple times to ask questions. Once those details were ironed out, she finalized the paperwork. She printed the paperwork, had him sign it, and provided detailed directions to the US Bankruptcy court in Woodland Hills. She also told him what to expect when filing. The filing process went exactly as she said it would. It was quick and easy with no surprises. With the BK filing, the creditor phone calls and nastygrams stopped. During the filing process he was given a receipt that had the name of his BK judge, BK trustee, and creditor meeting date. Once he had a BK case number, he was able to fax it to the sheriff that served his employer for the wage attachment. It stopped immediately thereafter. Prior to the creditor meeting, he received a couple of phone calls from the BK trustee. She thought some paperwork was missing, but it wasn't. He pointed out where it was in the stack of paper and she found it. Yes, Kaydi was thorough. He attended the creditor meeting. As expected, no creditors were there. Kaydi had already told him the kinds of questions the trustee would ask. He answered them and that was that. He was done with the "hard part" in under 2 hours. About a month after the meeting, at work one day, a payroll clerk saw him in the hall and said she had a check for him. Lo and behold, every penny of what had been garnished was refunded to him. A lot of people don't realize that it is possible to get back everything that was garnished in the 90 days before filing for BK. He had read that it was questionable whether or not garnishments prior to filing could be recovered. Most of what he read stated that a certain schedule had to list it and that it had to be exempted... I'm not sure what any of that means. But, evidently Kaydi knew what it meant and how to do it, because it was done right. Having it done right resulted in a substantial refund to my friend so based on that alone, she was worth her modest fee. You can feel confident that Kaydi will take care of your legal matter correctly. She's very professional, thorough, straightforward, and honest. She's also prompt and available. You won't wait forever for her to return your phone call or answer your email. read more

I don't know if Virginia Langarica is a student operating a business out of her dorm room or someone living at home, conducting business out of a storage shed in someone's backyard or whatever it happens to be, but this "A People's Choice" is not only not qualified but have not a clue about filing a simple court document that has met all the criteria for filing as of July 2019. And yet, here we are at August 2020 still trying to communicate with Virginia and no closer to a resolution with regard to our QDRO. Painful to deal with. I had them do the paperwork for 3 adoptions ($1500!) and they nit picked and charged extra about minor changes (even a simple typo). Charged me to handle the filing of my cases, but won't take responsibility for the cases not being filed. Tried to pass the buck to the courier "they hired", then passed the buck to the court. Probate is not easy, you are grieving the loss of a parent while dealing with legal stuff. After speaking to a few attorneys, my family and I decided to go with A Peoples Choice. I was selected to be the administer of the estate. I reached out to A Peoples Choice and our journey began. They were up front with the cost and pretty much explained what to expect. My family dynamics had its challenges, 13 people involved, David and Sandy were there to assist me. It was a true partnership. I work full time, the communication via email was perfect. I would email either late evening or very early morning and always received a reply back timely. I could go to their web site and find helpful information any hour of the day. I never had to go to their office. When I finish something, I like to reflect on things I've done, sort of a lessons learned. 1) If you are going through Probate, get familiar with Probate notes. 2) If the court says the Judge may ask for "xxx", most likely they will. Do not use this company for creating legal documents. After reviewing their reviews online, they seemed to have a decent track record, the only real issues I read about were related to fees and charges. My issue with them does include a gripe about additional fees and charges but also with the way they produced documents. They took what I had provided them in the initial questionnaire I filled out and plugged it into the documents. You could tell they never actually proof read any of the documents they populated for me. One example is they provided documentation stating I was one age when the next day I turned the next age, so I had to get documents notarized after 5PM to be the age the documents stated which was extremely hard. And when I had errors in documents and they needed to provide fixed files they sent the documents with the wrong age and I had to go back to them to get this fixed, even though it had now been 2 months past my birthday. Another issue with the documents is they included a date in a different calendar month on one of our forms and submitted this to the courts. Yes, I understand I am also supposed to read every document before I submit them, but we were told the biggest items to review were our names and addresses and confirming every line was signed. We sent the documents to them to be reviewed one last time before submitting to the courts and it was not caught by them either which makes me wonder did they even read them? The courts proceeded to reject my original documents since one page was wrong, and this service informed me to just update the one-page and resubmit with the corrected date. I was only able to email my question about resubmitting just the one-page or needing to re-do all the pages because all reviews online state if you call them with questions they will charge you for the phone call, so I had to resort to email. Per their email responses I submitted just the one corrected page to the courts and the courts rejected it again because we needed to resubmit everything. After that I needed to have all the documents recreated and resubmitted to the courts. I had to submit to the courts on three occasions the same documents and get all my files re-notarized with the new dates. This incurred additional costs out of my pocket and when I asked them about it and if I could have any refunds they decided to tell me they normally charge additional fees for recreating documents, so they apparently did me a favor by not charging me again. If you are going through anything with the courts and need documents created find another company to use. This company makes you feel like you are just a number on their list to get to. I was on a time crunch due to a sensitivity of my legal matter and with all the additional costs I had to pay I didn't save any money by not hiring a lawyer for help and added undue stress to myself. read more

I would have rather paid an attorney who could answer my questions about what a certain form means than hiring a your company to fill out paperwork and not understand or be able to explain what I'm signing. This is my issue!! You should not be creating living trusts if you can't explain what a simple form means. Before this, I had gone to an attorney who quoted my husband and I $2500 for the same documents they would do! We didn't have that kind of money so this had been put on the back burner. After paying the flat fee, including a discount, of $3800, we attempted to complete a lengthy on-line questionnaire. We had problems with the technology and all attempts to fix the glitch were dead-ends. The contract indicated that simply asking for help completing the questionnaire would result in additional charges. This forbode struggles going forward so we immediately canceled the order per the contract which gave us 24 hours to cancel for a full refund. Well, that was a lie. The order was not processed and yet a full refund was not issued - they retained $150 for doing nothing. read more

Overall, my experience was quite positive, the price was a lot more reasonable than hiring an attorney and the divorce was finalized (aka what I needed to do was done). Whenever I emailed with questions they were almost always immediately answered, which was reassuring and helpful. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because there were several hiccups along the way where the court sent me letters saying that some of the paperwork had been incorrectly filled out, which I feel made the process longer than it could've been.
