DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE!!!! I took my Husky for grooming and asked to trim around the excessive hair as she is changing her coat and shedding a lot. My dog had the most beautiful and soft coat ever and they literally ruined it, see the picture for yourself (how she was and how she is now). Other places with professional groomers would just use scissors to do that (they obviously don't know what they are doing) I thought it was very obvious that you're not supposed to shave a double coated dog. (She told me it was not a shave, but my dog's hair is not longer than 1/4 inch right now. From my perspective that is shaving, I am sorry. It's just common sense). Sky is the most sweet and playful dog ever, thanks to these people now she doesn't wanna eat, doesn't wanna go out... all she does is lay down on the corners and look depressed. I can't say enough how aggravated I am with this place. What you did was brutal... Warning for Pet Owners! I rarely post complaints, but I feel it's important to share my experience for others considering this place for their pets. I have two dogs--a Maltese and a Bernedoodle--and after this grooming experience, I won't be returning. I was quoted $55 for my 6-pound Maltese and $65 for the Bernedoodle (50 pounds). However, when I went to pick them up, the price had increased to $65 for the Maltese and $130 for the Bernedoodle. The grooming itself was disappointing, to say the least. Both dogs were shaved down completely--no styling or care put into the cut whatsoever. They were left practically naked. This place is AMAZING! I was losing hope trying to find a small dog for my youngest son, who is 5. After another fruitless trip to the humane society, I google rescues near by and found A Paw Above. The staff went out of their way to show us the available dogs. When we thought they didn't have what we were looking for, the staff remembered Butterscotch, a small rat terrier the staff had pictures of in their phone. We asked to see him and it was love at first sight. Not only was he happy and clean in his temporary home, the rescue was clean and super friendly. They took care of everything while we continued playing with Butterscotch and even gave us a "diaper bag" of goodies to take home. We will definitely be back for future needs. read more

A lot of people around here are French, so don't start making up a random story about me to devalue my review. I saw what I saw and that is that no one should trust your business. You are a liar. And I have heard myself how you treat your employees because I live literally around the corner and walk by your business almost every day. Half your business is open air it seems like, so its pretty easy to hear you especially when walking down the side streets. You do this it seems to every bad review on your business. I have been sending my 1 year old Doberman to A Paw Above for a few months now. I was very nervous to send him to daycare but the staff made it very easy. They send me pics of him during the day and let me know how he's doing. They know each dog's personality and group them together according to who gets along nicely together. On days that Rocco stays home I have one of their walkers come by and take him out for a mid-day walk. They also groom my Schnauzer and trim Rocco's nails. Gretchen (the owner) always makes herself available for any questions I have and treats the dogs as if they were her own. She always takes the time to sit with me and answer questions about my dog's health and nutrition. Gretchen's assistant, Emelia is top notch. I feel comfortable leaving Rocco especially because of her. She is a very hard worker and pays close attention to all areas of the business, but most importantly she knows each dog and their behaviors. I can work all day knowing my pup is in great hands! If there is one word to describe this place and the lady who runs it it is DISASTER. My beautiful golden doodle came out like a street dog. We did not even recognize her. Simply because they took the quick and short way out giving her a GI Joe machine cut. No styling whatsoever anywhere on her body - not even the head, legs, or tail. A complete SHAVE !Incredible ! She did not even apologize and blamed me for having told me that is what would be done due to her tangles : Complete lies. Not ever going back and will tell everyone of this horrific experience. A+++++. I employed A Paw Above to walk my four Standard Poodles daily as I recently had leg surgery. I am just so impressed with their daily routine here. After Gretchen and Amelia take the four boys for their 30 minute walk, they make sure the four boys don't have any burrs in their fur (and have brushed various feet, if necessary) and they check their water bowl, filling it if needed. This is really no star. The person sent to walk the dogs didn't clean up any messes. She let the dogs get out and poop/pee all over the house! The owner lied and said the dogs are opening the doors. Or the other people working in the house are opening the doors. This is a lie because I know the repairman was terrified of my 4 big dogs. She interrupted my vacation daily to complain and tell me a new lie. This woman is a scammer and will do anything to get more money out of you! She told me 2 different prices. I chose the lower price because my animals pooping area is near our home. She complained to say it took a long time to get the dogs out of the house. She said this is above and beyond what dog walkers do! Well excuse my misconception! I thought dog walkers walk dogs and pick up droppings?! When I returned from vacation, she tried to "accidentally" over charge me! She was very creative in her pricing. Because of her laziness the repairman stopped working in the house until I returned from vacation because he couldn't take the smell. I asked for my key to be dropped off and she wanted extra money for that. I made an appointment to meet her. She must have known I was ready to confront her regarding my dogs' care. She left the key under the mat and then text me to mail the check. Stay far away from this horrible business! They don't care about your animals!!!!!!! Update 8/18/17 As you can see from the owner's response. They did nothing wrong! I as the pet owner did everything wrong. Never mind both working bathrooms. Never mind the poop and pee all over the house. Never mind them breaking my son's bowl made for his dog. Never mind her daily multiple texts to complain for more time to get more money. I am a terrible pet owner because one I took a vacation and two I forgot to leave out cleaning supplies. Which during the multiple texts I received they said they would supply. As stated by the owner it is above what dog walkers do. I am confused as to why I thought dog walkers clean up after dogs. And shame on me for moving to a different house that mind you I originally waited at 40 minutes for the dog walker to show up to get the key. And as I showed the dog walker the inside of the house I should have been the one to tell the business don't take the job. It seemed as if the owner had a personal dislike for the Spanish contractor and his two helpers. I'm not really sure how she saw them because she should have been arriving before and after they left. I took my dog here twice she is a perfectly healthy, well groomed, well behaved dog. After 1st time she was exhausted once back with us and not really herself, almost unrecognizable. Second time she came back to us with a bad chest infection she caught from being around such horrible housing conditions! These people scam other people & are just disgusting! I walked in and a dog was violently throwing up & lady at front desk did nothing. The dog ate all of the throw up off the floor. Horrible place! Do not take your dog there! We took our Husky there and they couldn't have done a worse job! We asked for the sanitary grooming package where they supposed to trim down the hair around his sanitary parts, cut his nails, bathe him, and trim down the hair in his paws. The only thing they did was bathe him!!!! Not a singles sanitary part was touched! We had to ask for the paws to be trimmed, they took him back and trimmed his paws with in a quick and apparently angry that they cut his paws! We had to put medicine in bandage the paws to heal from the cuts! If you love your pet and care about their health, I strongly recommend you don't take them there! At least if you have a large dog, reconsider. They charged us the full price of a package that was not done! They still your money and hurt your furry babies! Gretchen had been walking my dog for almost a year, when I get a call from my alarm company that alarm was tripped. I call her and she said "I'm standing right here, I shut it off, sorry everything's fine." The alarm company automatically sends me a video from all the cameras in my house when an alarm occurs. On the video? Not Gretchen. Not anyone I've ever seen before. Not only did she lie about being at my house, but apparently a complete stranger has a key and alarm code for my house! Then I look at the alarm logs (you can see the time stamps for when someone enters and exits) and it turns out the 1/2 an hour I had been paying for, was never more than 20 minutes and was most often 15. I know. I should have let her go then. But no, I took her apology and life went on, with me checking the logs to make sure I got the full 1/2 an hour. Until a few weeks ago when (wait for it) the EXACT same thing happened again (complete stranger in my house). If you're like me, your animals are your everything and you would do anything to protect them. I sincerely hope by posting this, it saves someone else the utter fear of having someone untrustworthy care for them. read more

Absolute lifesavers. Tried their doggie daycare service the first time for my energetic 10 month old in order for him to burn some extra energy. He came home pooped and seemingly quite pleased with himself. That same night I broke my ankle. A Paw Above coordinated his pickup and drop off with me every time I've needed it since then. Thankfully, I'm very local. My pup comes home and usually spends the next hour or so napping, before he will even eat dinner! He even recognizes now that when there is a knock at the door in the morning, it's for him and he will sit right by the door, excitedly wagging his tail. Tremendous operation. Most reliable service I have utilized in South Florida. I was out of the country 3 months ago when my roof sprung a major leak. Gretchen notified me and sent photos. She even arranged to be there early in the morning to meet with contractors. Right now I am out of the country. Could not get back prior to the arrival of hurricane Irma. Gretchen not only took my 3 cats into her house (along with over 40 other animals), she also closed all of my hurricane shutters as no one else was available to do so. Super convenient, very local, service is very accommodating. I'm so blessed to have this place so close in a pinch when ever I need them. They remember me, my name, my dogs name etc. you get excellent service and their facility is very nice and inviting. Staff is quick and responsive. I board my dog once a month or so for a couple days and it's great,they even drop him off at my house and hide the key for me, so when I arrive home he's there waiting and already fed. Only suggestion is make some type of discount loyalty or discount prepaid program some type of incentive to help with prices even a small discount is appreciated. I have no complaints. I first met Hope on the road and explained that I had a cat who badly needed his nails clipped. I called the service and spoke with Gretchen whom was also a joy to deal with, and she scheduled Hope to come over the same day. Hope came over and managed to get most of Tony's nails clipped, because Tony was such a fussy cat. Hope and Gretchen decided it would be best to pick him up the next day at no additional charge to me so they could finish the job. I can't rave enough about what professionals these two were with our fussy cat. Kudos to a great first time experience, especially after 2 other places did a less than satisfactory job. IF YOU LOVE YOUR DOG ... DON'T TAKE THEM THERE My dog is never the same since I took him there in the NYE 2021. I took my dog there since I was travelling from Chicago to Miami. First, the moment you walk in you know, the place smells horrible, it took me 15 minutes to fill out the forms, and while I was doing that, they yelled at dogs about 7 times, there was a dog named "Oscar" I think that they yelled at poor thing 5 times in 10 minutes, and I regret that I didn't follow that gut wrenching feeling that I had! When I picked my dog up in the morning, the moment I picked him up to did his business and judging by the amount of Urine it seemed like they didnt let him out the whole night, also he drank 2 bottles of water which means they didnt even give him water and they called me in the morning asking me if they should feed him which means they didnt feed him or give him water since 3 PM since i dropped him! and to make things worse, when he pooped, he had bloody stool, so I immediately took him to the vet, and the vet told me that this was stress related bloody stool, not physical, and when I called the manager to complain the manager was VERY rude. My dog is 18 months old, used to be the sweetest dog, it's been 3 weeks that he's always barking at night, whenever he sees a dog he start barking at them which he NEVER did that before he was always friendly and god knows what happened to him that night that we cannot recognize him anymore, we lost that sweet puppy that we had because of the incomitance and carelessness of those people . I don't own a dog but many people walk their dogs on the lane I live on. The house that uses this company has 4 dogs and different dog walkers come and go. Whoever walks them takes them out 2 at a time. I have caught 2 different walkers in the act of NOT picking up and one let the dog pee in the street beneath my mailbox, just as I was about to check the mail. I had to hose the area down first. I could see the one I saw today go to check her pockets before realizing she didn't have any bags on her (really?). I figured she'd go back to her car and just get another bag. Surely, she keeps more in the car. Next thing I know, the poop head is driving off. When I called the business, the owner (at least she acted like the owner), just answered "hello." Not exactly a professional way to answer a business phone, but I wasn't calling about her phone manners. So, after I made it clear to her what happened and where, she knew who the walker and the dog owner were. I told her as far as I was concerned she shouldn't be allowed to walk any dogs around here anymore. Long story short, the "owner" got very rude with me, told me I did not own the street said a few more harsh words and then wished me a nice day and hung up, but not before I squeezed in "Bye b--ch." I am paraphrasing above. In a heated discussion I don't always remember the exact words. Doesn't matter. She's a terrible business person and has no idea how to conduct good relations with the people who have to be subjected to bad dog walkers. The only thing that kept me from bagging the poop and throwing it at the dog owner's house is it wasn't his fault at all.
