What happened to this store!…read more Shopped here many years. Walked in today about 1:45 on a Friday afternoon. Tried to get something laminated. Guy at the counter wouldn't even make eye contact with me, I stood there for 5 minutes. Then he mentioned without eye contact that I would need to wait a few minutes. I walked away. I found a little box of envelopes I needed, LAST one on the shelf. Sliced all over with box cutter incisions. Like $60 for a box, but I needed them so ok. Entered checkout queue. 1 patron in front of me. He finished, so I placed my purchase on the counter. Cashier didn't even acknowledge me. Some guy walked up to the side counter and started asking about camera batteries! I lost my cool. I said OK, take care of this rude walk up customer, I'll wait . I want your attention. Camera guy left. Still no attention. Not asked if I had Staples rewards, etc. Then some Karen walks up behind me, starts demanding service from cashier. Says she has been waiting a long time! Cashier again ignores customer in front of him. I say sarcastically "hey, obviously Karen was here first, I am so sorry to inconvenience you with a sale, why don't you go help her?" He threw my stuff and receipt in the bag, never said more. He made excuses then to Karen, lots of folks off at lunch, he is only one here to deal with up to 3 customers! Thinking of the thousands I spent at this store, obviously overpaid. Found same purchase online for $20. WHY would I Ever shop here again? Obviously so I can create havoc for entitled line jumping Karen's, burned out copy center people with no customer service incentive,? Maybe to stand out front with employees to smoke a cig while customers wait (they are SO hidden by the front door). Maybe it's just this store. Seems like a desperate cry for help from management. Is this store about to close from apathy?

There were about 10 people in the Amazon line. If you are not going to serve customers purchasing your items, you should at least have a self-checkout. This is a key reason brick and mortar is dying. I turned to the woman behind me and said "my phone is in my car, I'll be right back". I left my cart with 3 pkgs. in it in line. When I came back a minute later I realized she jumped ahead of me so with a puzzled look I asked her "Did you jump the line ahead of me"? Her response was "you left"!?!?! Seriously? As she was going back to her spot behind me an obnoxious fat lady in front of me thought she'd be a smart ass & told the woman she could get in front of her, and so the woman moved to the front of the line now. Mind you, I'm a senior citizen with chronic back pain, I use a cane and a walker and I just had both my hips replaced. I explained this to the woman and it meant nothing to her. So I asked to speak to a manager to explain what just happened. The young "acting manager" listened for half a second before the fat lady jumped in and in a combative tone said "She left the line". When I went on to explain that I didn't leave the line, I went to my car to get my phone & left my cart in line, the manager threatened to "throw us both out"! Her exact words! Why me? Where am I in the wrong here?? So she just let her jump the line while I had to stand there in pain longer than necessary. I thought this was extremely unprofessional and she did not address the issue. She should have kicked them both out! To her credit, she did offer to take me at another register. Today while I was back in the store I decided to speak to the main manager to let her know how this was handled. As I was speaking with her, I could see that every word I said went in one ear and out the other. She just had a blank stare. She made excuses for her acting manager, no matter what I said. She said she was probably busy and had a long line and I told her there was no line in her section but she continued to make excuses Instead of saying, "I'm sorry that you were treated that way and that our manager didn't do anything about it, please accept my apologies on behalf of Staples". Instead she went on to tell me that the other two ladies called her to let her know that the "acting Mng." didn't do anything wrong (in the event I called.) She also said that the "fat lady" told her I "hit the back of her legs" with my cart, which is a complete lie. She probably hit her own fat ass on my cart while backing up to let the other lady in ahead of her and blamed me!!! The "acting manager" as well flat out lied to her superior by saying she told us "if we don't stop she wouldn't wait on us". Uhhh NO, she yelled and I quote "I'll throw you both out"! Due to principal alone, I was compelled to contact the District Manager after that conversation, and he couldn't have been any nicer or more understanding. I'll continue to go to that Staples because it's the only one within 60 miles and because the DM was sincere, understanding, apologetic and said he'd address it. Thanks to the DM, Donnell, I'll continue to be a custome.

I ordered online before 10, and I checked the box to notify me by phone when done. Don't count on it. I did receive an automated call at 7:21 PM, well after closing. I'd already stopped by at 7:06 PM. Three others arrived at the same time. All of us expected closing to be at least 8 PM. The boy in the service area wasn't about to budge. Staples' price is ridiculously high for such deceptive policies. I'll leave another review tomorrow when I trek back and actually see the quality.

Horrible customer service. Avoid this place…read more As I walked in, I saw an older woman with white hair snapping at a customer and sending him away like a school child to the principal's office. I tried to be extra cheerful to brighten her day, but the more I smiled, the ruder and angrier she became. Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere, this place clearly has issues with its employees.
