They even have weekend and daytime availability, which is super convenient. Let me tell you, JaPriest is absolutely excellent! He's my therapist and one of the best I've ever had. He treats you with kindness, respect, and absolutely no judgment. His advice is top-notch, and after a session with him, I always leave feeling better than when I came in. Plus, he's the group leader during our outpatient sessions and has a great style that I really like. He even jokes around with us, which makes the atmosphere more relaxed. Speaking of the group, I have nothing bad to say about it personally. I was scared at first, thinking I would do terrible or that people would judge me. But they have some rules in place, like not passing judgment on anyone and not apologizing when it's not your fault and as a group they've helped me become a much less of a people pleaser and be a person whose a lot more assertive in things and confident they've also taught me my worth as a human is way more than what I thought it was going in I had the worst confidence and through soley this out patient group at the transformation center I really do feel I've made a huge huge transformation. It's thanks to Ja Priest and the group and his encouraging words that I've learned not to blame myself for things that aren't my fault. That's something I've never been told by a previous therapist. For the first time in over a year I finally had pain relief from my scoliosis and sciatica. I came in unable to do basic everyday movements such as driving a car or sitting for short periods of time. Within a week I was able to pick up my 11 month old again and hold him. I had the 60 minute cupping massage every two weeks, and if you are on the fence because of price don't be! What Kelly provides is worth every penny and then some so don't forget to tip! I am hoping to find someone half as good as her here in Atlanta but I am fearful I might not. I was given a consultation on my skin which was followed by the signature Eden facial to address my own personal skin concerns. Not only did she focus on my face, but she also applied product and massaged my neck and décolleté which was a nice addition to the facial. This is a government ran agency I believe. They are helpful to those who don't have insurance or…read moredon't have coverage for the types of services offered here. Helpful meaning low cost services. But you get what you pay for. The EC is a large facility off of Union that primarily offers counseling services and classes related to mental and emotional health. We had to take our children here a little while back. We were assigned student interns two different occasions. I understand they need to start somewhere, but I felt like with no direct oversight by an instructor, this could cause issues at a time when things are already very delicate and sensitive. I tried to get in contact with the director multiple times, but it seemed nearly impossible. Getting a first appointment here can take several weeks, so be warned. The EC waiting area has a few chairs and a bookshelf full of children and adult books to read while you wait in the lobby. The front door to the building is securely locked at all times and you must be paged in to enter. This is a nice security feature considering the EC is used for many broken, hurting families and this just keeps everyone safe. The interns are friendly and good with children. However, the kids' counseling is strictly play therapy and nothing further. They do not actually counsel or talk about anything. So if you go in knowing that, you will probably be fine.
