I recommend emergence to anyone I talk to about birth!

What about your wife asking for EMS when a call should have happened 14 mins prior? Gas lit and told it was only a minute or two. Thank GOD for EMS records! TIME IS BRAIN. Emergence isn't qualified for EMERGENCY. My family travailed the tension of life and death in our story, and while satisfactory, and normal physiologic experiences are great, hearing how licensed medical professionals handle dire, forlorn clinical scenarios is of utmost importance in precisely displaying a facet of skill and level of care that literally cannot be displayed at any other time, other than conjuncture. Making my testimony especially meaningful. If you had no complications, you can't speak to the things I can, because quite frankly both my baby and wife faced life endangering encounters and the assumed ability to manage such was sorely lacking, from not 1 but 2 tenured midwives who attended my wife's delivery. You could statistically bank on the likelihood of a normal birth and be fine BUT when it's not fine, it is catastrophically and preventably not fine. Survival bias is real. CPM midwife Caitlyn has 13 violations with the state regarding this birth, and may have license revocation later this year. Look up AZ care check to follow objective details. CNM owner Nancy has an open investigation with her board as well. She has spoken publicly on other midwives "deficiencies" and failure to uphold scope and statutes - and ironically has violated the same statutes she condemned others for while functioning like she wasn't also accountable to Arizona rules and regulations. Do your wife and your baby a LIFE SAVING favor and get someone who knows how to use a FREAKING AMBU-BAG.

However the ultrasound doctor strongly advised to give birth at a hospital. At the time we didn't understand why or the urge to sway us away from the birthing center. When we told the midwive she immediately tried getting rid of me as a patient. I had to call around different doctor offices trying to be seen at 39 weeks which was impossible to get an appointment. My husband finally bugged the midwife enough for her to tell me to "go to a hospital, lie about having contractions" that she would make a call and have some random doctor that I've never met claim me as his patient for me to be admitted. We were left with no doctor, no help, no answers, told to lie to medical staff. It was completely stressful. No medical facility should ever treat someone like this ! Especially someone who is pregnant . It turns out that OUR midwive was responsible for the death of a baby during labor. 3 months prior to my delivery. Along with a list of previous medical misconduct. In the end we lucked out with a healthy baby, but literally shame on all of you. You all knew what was going on and you guys could have stepped in and provided the necessary care. https://mediaassets.abc15.com/html/embeds/Midwives%20database/Karin%20Braun.pdf KARIN BRAUN I HOPE YOU NEVER GET YOUR LICENSE BACK!!

Diane and Belinda are educated, caring, and very intentional when it comes to the care for both mom and baby. Finding Willow birth center was an answered prayer. The purpose of updating my review is the transparency of the billing team or whoever is in charge of finances over there. NOT GOOD. Bad enough to dampen the overall experience. With our first child, we left with a $1000 credit that no one told us about until we went back with our second child. We were overcharged and not told. With our second child, we chose to use insurance which helped, because our insurance team was able to help us keep track of the tasks that they were billing for. With our third and fourth child, we were only able to receive prenatal care. WHICH I AM SO GRATEFUL, Willow is the most comforting and reassuring group of midwives in Arizona (in my personal experience) However, from our first appointment with Willow for our third and fourth children, we were told by both them, and by our insurance company that all of my prenatal care was completely covered.... MY KIDS WERE BORN IN AUGUST AND IT IS DECEMBER AND WE ARE STILL RECEIVING BILLS FROM THEM. I HAVE CALLED THE FINANCE TEAM, WILLOW, AND THE NUMBER ON THE EMAIL TRYING TO BILL US. WE HAVE YET TO RECEIVE A CALLBACK. THIS IS MY REVIEW AND MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE, HOWEVER, THE FRIENDS THAT I'VE SENT TO WILLOW TO HAVE BABIES ARE STILL STRUGGLING WITH THE FINANCE TEAM A LITERAL YEAR AFTER HAVING THEIR CHILDREN. When I go to have my fifth child, God willing, I would so quickly call Rachel and Rubyan for a home birth if they have those qualifications by then, *wink wink* My suggestion is, if you choose Willow, WHICH I DO HIGHLY RECOMMEND, pay upfront in cash. Do not mess with their finance team. Not because you won't win, but because you'll be fighting a long time and that's the last thing any family or new mother needs postpartum. ***side note, all the first time moms upset about being sent home... that's totally normal to have a long birth. Your body has literally never had a baby before. With my first baby, I was sent home twice during my 19 hour labor. Healthy 9 pounder was born at 41 weeks and 6 days. STOP. BLAMING. YOUR. MIDWIFE!!!

So, about 10 weeks before I was due I started the search for another doula and came across both Lora, and Chelsea, individually. I contacted them and they let me know they had recently teamed up and were available. We had a zoom call with them and my husband and I decided to book them for our August birth. Chelsea & Lora came for a home visit in June, so we could meet them and discuss initial ideas about my labor/birth/etc. They both brought their individual strengths and so much knowledge. They then came back a few weeks before I was due to discuss plans for when i went into labor, comfort measures, etc. They were both there any other time my husband and I had a question throughout the whole process as well. I had a long, long (44 hour) labor and we (mainly my husband) were in contact with Chelsea/Lora the entire time. About 22 hours in, once the pain had gotten pretty bad, Lora came to our house at 8pm. She quietly supported us and helped get through the contractions. At midnight, Chelsea swapped in so Lora could get some rest. Chelsea encouraged me to keep moving and try different things to help progress labor. When we thought it was time to go to the birth center, Chelsea came with us. When I finally ended up being admitted, Lora was the doula who ultimately joined us at the birth center- and spent over 12 hours there with us. I had mentioned during one of our previous meetings that I would love it if the doula who was present could snap some pictures during the day of labor/birth- I wasn't looking for anything too fancy or professional but just wanted some iphone pics. Lora went above and beyond, using her own camera to take lots of pictures and a video of the birth- which we haven't seen yet but are so excited for! Both Lora & Chelsea truly went above and beyond, and are a perfect complementary team. They came for a 2 week postpartum visit and it felt like having friends over to meet the baby- we cannot recommend them and their services enough & will definitely be using them for baby 2!

A 10-Star Experience with Michet & Cherry Blossom Doulas…read more There are truly not enough stars to capture the level of care, support, and excellence I experienced with Michet and Cherry Blossom Doulas. From pregnancy through the birth of my son, Michet was nothing short of exceptional. From the very beginning, Cherry Blossom Doulas did an incredible job matching me with the perfect doula. As a first-time mom, that alignment meant everything--and they absolutely got it right. The classes they provided were thorough, informative, and empowering. They gave both my husband and me the confidence and foundational knowledge we needed going into this new chapter. Michet herself was a true gift. She provided unlimited resources and an abundance of information that helped us feel educated, prepared, and supported every step of the way. She took the time to walk us through all of our options, thoughtfully explaining what different labor scenarios could look like--while also grounding us in the reality that birth is unpredictable and can shift at any moment. That balance of preparation and honesty was invaluable. What stood out most was how deeply supported I felt. Michet created a space where I felt safe, cared for, and completely at ease. Her presence alone brought a sense of calm and reassurance that every expecting mother deserves. She went above and beyond in ways that truly made this experience unforgettable. From teaching my husband and I partner stretches to prepare for labor, to ensuring he also felt confident and included in the process--she supported us both wholeheartedly. Her care extended beyond the basics, offering beautiful, meaningful extras like labor photography that captured one of the most sacred moments of our lives, and even providing placenta encapsulation services. Michet's energy is soft, nurturing, and incredibly grounding. She checked in with me consistently throughout my pregnancy, always making me feel seen, heard, and prioritized. It never felt transactional--it felt deeply personal. I can wholeheartedly say that having Michet by my side was one of the best decisions I made during my pregnancy journey. She didn't just do her job--she exceeded every expectation and poured genuine care into every interaction. I am beyond grateful and would recommend her, and Cherry Blossom Doulas, to any expecting mother who desires a supported, informed, and beautifully guided birth experience.

She knew just where to touch, and exactly what to say during contractions, especially at the end when things get more intense. My birth in 2020 began unmedicated with midwife support in-hospital, and ultimately ended in c-section due to lack of progress (water breaking before contractions started, among other complications outside of our control). She helped me navigate birth at a hospital amongst the chaos of 2020 times, and was so incredibly reassuring about any of my concerns being a first time mom. Although the birth didn't end the way I initially desired, I felt supported during every decision, so the acceptance of the situation not going according to my initial desires was easier to arrive to with Alyssa's support. In 2023, I had a beautiful VBAC at a birth center. This experience was wholeheartedly different, where I was able to spend most of my time laboring at home. Alyssa walked beside me during every step of the way (for many hours again, as my body brings babies very slowly and intensely to earth ). She massaged, recommended position changes and whispered sweet nothings in my ear all night and morning while my husband was able to rest. When it came time to go to the birth center and bring baby into the world, it was her voice that carried me though the intensity of the end of an unmedicated birth. I highly recommend Cherry Blossum for doula services, they are the ABSOLUTE best.

Initially I was a little nervous because I was used to seeing Mallorie, but Annie was incredible! Annie was attentive, understanding, answered all my questions during appointments and such a sweet, smart person! During my labor in the hospital, Annie was there the whole time! (Hospital nurses make me very nervous so that meant a lot to me.) She sat with me and my husband while I was laboring in the tub. She recommended different positions to bring baby down. She limited the number of nurses in the room. She remembered what I wanted for my birth plan, even when I was yelling for an epidural. She kept calm even when I was not and labor was happening incredibly fast. I cannot recommend Annie enough. The other staff that works for Glow are also amazing. They are always kind and helpful. I think it would be difficult, or impossible, to find another practice in the valley as wonderful as Glow!

Tuesday morning I received a call that the Dr. would not be in the office because she was on call at the hospital, so we changed the appointment to Thursday morning. As I arrive at the office and am getting ready to get out of my car, I receive a text stating that the Dr. was ill and would not be in that day. I went in and told them I was not happy with them and then got an appointment for the following Monday. This appointment was very disappointing as I found out that my message was not forwarded to the Dr. or the Office Manager so what I was asking for was not there. So nothing was accomplished again at this appointment. I felt very dissatisfied with the whole situation.
