You could statistically bank on the likelihood of a normal birth and be fine BUT when it's not fine, it is catastrophically and preventably not fine. Survival bias is real. CPM midwife Caitlyn has 13 violations with the state regarding this birth, and may have license revocation later this year. Look up AZ care check to follow objective details. CNM owner Nancy has an open investigation with her board as well. She has spoken publicly on other midwives "deficiencies" and failure to uphold scope and statutes - and ironically has violated the same statutes she condemned others for while functioning like she wasn't also accountable to Arizona rules and regulations. However the ultrasound doctor strongly advised to give birth at a hospital. At the time we didn't understand why or the urge to sway us away from the birthing center. When we told the midwive she immediately tried getting rid of me as a patient. I had to call around different doctor offices trying to be seen at 39 weeks which was impossible to get an appointment. My husband finally bugged the midwife enough for her to tell me to "go to a hospital, lie about having contractions" that she would make a call and have some random doctor that I've never met claim me as his patient for me to be admitted. We were left with no doctor, no help, no answers, told to lie to medical staff. It was completely stressful. No medical facility should ever treat someone like this ! Especially someone who is pregnant . It turns out that OUR midwive was responsible for the death of a baby during labor. 3 months prior to my delivery. Along with a list of previous medical misconduct. In the end we lucked out with a healthy baby, but literally shame on all of you. The purpose of updating my review is the transparency of the billing team or whoever is in charge of finances over there. NOT GOOD. Bad enough to dampen the overall experience. With our first child, we left with a $1000 credit that no one told us about until we went back with our second child. We were overcharged and not told. With our second child, we chose to use insurance which helped, because our insurance team was able to help us keep track of the tasks that they were billing for. With our third and fourth child, we were only able to receive prenatal care. WHICH I AM SO GRATEFUL, Willow is the most comforting and reassuring group of midwives in Arizona (in my personal experience) However, from our first appointment with Willow for our third and fourth children, we were told by both them, and by our insurance company that all of my prenatal care was completely covered.... Typically offices have a 15 minute window for situations like this. Danuser would not even come talk to me at the front desk. Their reasoning for not seeing me was "they were not going to wait on me." I said okay well where is Danuser they said "with another patient." Hmmm so if you were not wanting to "wait" on me, but there's still a patient in front of me that had to be seen, that makes no sense. So insanely unprofessional, lazy, rude, and I will never ever step foot in another Wren location again. I have gone there for 10 years, and I will never be going back. You would think people in healthcare would CARE about others.

I knew I wanted a doula for my labor/birth, and had a doula recommended to me by a friend. I…read moreprocrastinated on contacting her, and by the time I did- she was booked. So, about 10 weeks before I was due I started the search for another doula and came across both Lora, and Chelsea, individually. I contacted them and they let me know they had recently teamed up and were available. We had a zoom call with them and my husband and I decided to book them for our August birth. Chelsea & Lora came for a home visit in June, so we could meet them and discuss initial ideas about my labor/birth/etc. They both brought their individual strengths and so much knowledge. They then came back a few weeks before I was due to discuss plans for when i went into labor, comfort measures, etc. They were both there any other time my husband and I had a question throughout the whole process as well. I had a long, long (44 hour) labor and we (mainly my husband) were in contact with Chelsea/Lora the entire time. About 22 hours in, once the pain had gotten pretty bad, Lora came to our house at 8pm. She quietly supported us and helped get through the contractions. At midnight, Chelsea swapped in so Lora could get some rest. Chelsea encouraged me to keep moving and try different things to help progress labor. When we thought it was time to go to the birth center, Chelsea came with us. When I finally ended up being admitted, Lora was the doula who ultimately joined us at the birth center- and spent over 12 hours there with us. I had mentioned during one of our previous meetings that I would love it if the doula who was present could snap some pictures during the day of labor/birth- I wasn't looking for anything too fancy or professional but just wanted some iphone pics. Lora went above and beyond, using her own camera to take lots of pictures and a video of the birth- which we haven't seen yet but are so excited for! Both Lora & Chelsea truly went above and beyond, and are a perfect complementary team. They came for a 2 week postpartum visit and it felt like having friends over to meet the baby- we cannot recommend them and their services enough & will definitely be using them for baby 2!

First, when you arrive there is not a typical front desk check-in situation. There are several nurses? assistants? sitting in the lobby (with other patients who are waiting) and they are the ones who check you in. I've seen this in one other office, but it still is a bit weird. You hear their ipads ding and they chit chat... it's just different (maybe cheaper? more efficient?). Next, I am taken back to the room and this is where the loss of star comes in... I assume each room is "themed" (but why??) and my room just so happened to be "Happy Days" themed (again... why??). They purposefully designed and paid for a brand new office to look like it was from a 1970's TV show, with wood panels and a retro sink. I would maybe like this concept at a diner, but at a doctor's office I think I would prefer a more modern approach. I do not want to be taken back to the 70's for my healthcare... So up until the point the doctor came in I seriously considered just leaving and was already plotting my one star review - but, alas, she was pretty great. Cassandra was very sympathetic to my situation, asked how she could help, referred me to options, and was overall just a very authentic and compassionate woman. I've been to other OBGYNs who made me feel stupid and less than and I left feeling hopeful today. Overall, I look forward to continuing to go here and would highly recommend Cassandra.

My labor was long and intense, many hours of unmedicated labor and when we faced a sudden pivot to a C-section due to our baby's position, Amy was our anchor. She walked us through every single step, making sure I still felt informed and in control during a situation where control felt lost. What I appreciate most was her deep empathy, she sat with me and gave me the space to grieve the change in my birth plan and be scared. She didn't rush me past those feelings. When my husband wasn't allowed in the prep room, Amy was right there by my side. In the scariest moments, she held my hand, answered every question, and kept me grounded. Her calm energy is unmatched, and at times it honestly felt like she could read my mind. That wasn't just luck. This was because of how thoroughly she prepared with us beforehand. She took the time to truly learn how I process pain and what I need in high-pressure situations. She was just as important for my husband as she was for me, offering him constant reassurance. When our baby was born, he was able to leave my side to follow our baby with complete ease, knowing I wasn't alone and that Amy was taking care of me. Amy is extraordinary at what she does. I have had 3 appointments with them and something didn't go smoothly each time. It all started with walking into the office. There is no welcome or check in desk, so the nurses are usually sitting on the couches. Might just be me, but it didn't seem professional for a doctors office. The wait was usually longer than i had experienced with other similar doctors. At one appt I had to wait 2 hours because the midwife didn't come in that day (which they didn't tell me until after an hour of waiting). Once you are seen, it really depends on who you are seeing for your level of care. The blood work lady was amazing, very friendly and seemed to care about your health. Others seemed to just get the basics done. At my appt with Rebecca, I asked a few questions and advice from her to which her response was I don't really have any recommendations. These were not crazy questions, so it was frustrating to hear that from a medical provider. She also met with me for maybe 5 minutes total. The final straw for me was when they did the wrong blood test. I was clear at my first appt which test I wanted and after two appts they told me it was a different one that I was given. Again, not a great experience and made me weary of continued care with them. With some basic changes, it could be a great office but wasn't right for me at this time.
