Earlier this month, I used this taxi service and had to think long and hard about whether to write this review or not. My reservations were predominantly based on the pandemic and not wanting to shine a negative light on any business during these challenging times.
However, I've decided to write the review because the public needs to know.
I called for a taxi, and it arrived in the 10-minute estimate they'd provided over the phone. When I got in, the driver was wearing a mask and seemed to be wrapping up a conversation. As he was using his headphone and hadn't removed his mask, I did not mind.
As we proceeded to my destination, the driver was using his phone. He was reading and typing his mobile device to the extent that he, at more than once instance, was driving in the middle of the road straddling two lanes.
I then noticed that the driver's window was rolled down. I was freezing, and I asked that he please close it. He let me know that it was better to have the window down because ventilation is "better for the covid." Not wanting to catch a cold, I insisted he close it, and he did.
Then, much to my chagrin, he changes the radio station no less than 10 times. All the while looking down at the radio, again, taking his eyes off the road.
When we arrived at my destination, I paid $20 cash for the $10.25 fare. The driver asks, "Are you good, or do you want me to give you change?" The audacity!
I figured I'd take the moral high ground and reserve what would have been an unsavoury response and told him to give me back $5. As he did, he asked, "What? You want back more?" To which I did not reply.
