I'm newly vegan and really wanted to give this place a try, but my husband and I could not stand the food and threw everything away. The only thing edible were the Philly Cheestake empanadas. None of the gluten free meal options were available when I placed my order, so I took a chance getting the empanadas (I reacted pretty bad to these-- although tasty-- they are not GF). I also shied away from the meat alternatives (beyond meat, soy, etc.). The chickpea tuna was overloaded with seasoning but mostly garlic and the chickpeas were not cooked well.They tasted like they came right out of the can. The rasta pasta was underseasoned and had a burnt aroma leaving a bad after taste. Mushroom burger was inedible. Everything tasted rushed and not seasoned well, certain meals were either overseasoned or underseasoned. Other wise, I was greeted warmly upon entering the store. If ordering take out, the food takes a while. They seem to get a lot of App orders and the two kitchen guys (chefs) seem overwhelmed because of that. read more

I am thrilled with this healthy addition to the neighborhood! More often than not when a new restaurant comes it's a Caribbean or fried food spot so A Live Kitchen was needed and is much appreciated. I have only had their smoothies - Green Grower which is delicious. I look forward to trying the food. Two areas for improvement-1) take out - If you tell me my smoothie order will take 10 min and I take 15min to get there, you shouldn't just be putting my smoothie in the blender when I arrive and 2) Ask customers if they want agave in their smoothie before including it in. Juice Generation in the City always does this when you order a smoothie. Agave may not be sugar, but it is very high in fructose which isn't healthy. Moreover, if you have other sweet fruits, ie banana or pineapple, in the smoothie, there's really no need for the extra sweetener. read more

FINALLY a vegan restaurant in my own community with gluten free options. Yasssss, people of all colors eat healthy and deserve clean food restaurants within walking distance. I had the Avocado BLT wrap (GF) and it was yummy and a nice sized serving. One half was for dinner with a side salad and the rest was for lunch the next day. The smoothies are so delicious as a meal on it's own too. Triple Berry and Green Grower are my favs. This is a lovely place for breakfast, lunch, brunch, dinners, juices, smoothies and desserts. The food is divine and the atomsphere is hip, welcoming and pretty to dine or sit at the juice bar. Yeaaaaah! I am so happy to have A Live Kitchen near my yoga studio. Was looking for a a vegan spot late one night and came across this spot on yelp. Decided to go with it bc of the great reviews, pictures, and of course the menu. The inside is decent size and very clean. In the front is the dine in area and they do have a little juice bar in the back where people order for take out. I love the setup and the place has such good vibes. I've been through my fair share of vegan cheese lol and was happy to find out that the brand they use is follow your heart which is definitely a brand worth trying. I ended up getting the ital stew, chickpea and kale empanada, and my boyfriend had the berry smoothie. Everything we had was VERY VERY tasty, warm and flavorful. The ital stew has a very light kick to it which was nice, and the sauce for the empanada was amazing lol MAKE SURE TO TRY. The foods very good, my family and I probably ordered everything on the menu so far. They usually pleasent. Okay so I do appreciate having a vegan place around. However I have encountered some hiccups with them. What made me write a review, is that. When I ordered at 1:35, I was told I can not make the order because of brunch. Regular menu will pick up at 2pm. Okay I have never heard that before. Plus it take 20 mins to 30 mins to make by the time I reach there it would be 2pm. I asked can I just make the order (now going on 140), no because it will confuse the chef. I was bothered .... I almost didn't order. I came here before numerous times, plus my family. I'm sure there could've been some accommodation. But no.... Foods good but some accommodations for customers can be given. P.S I called back at 2 and ask to make the order. It takes 20mins. It's now 235 and I'm waiting for it. I appreciate you commenting, however the time 220 wasn't the focus. Or waiting for it. I'm addressing good customer service, sometimes. It's the fact that it was actually 140. When I ordered I'm always told pick up in 20 mins. I'm just making a point, that it was 20 mins from 2pm. Anyway I am aware now. It may not matter but, between those times I could've bought at another place. I'm glad to support especially local businesses. And spreading word brings business. This place is amazing and was very happy to try Vegan food for the first time here. Everything I ate was very delightful and good. I was full but in a good way. The portion was just right. I do not eat healthy and hardly eat enough veggies and fruits but this place allows you to get all the nutrients you need PLUS still uphold the flavor and good taste of the dish your partaking in. I have given up meat, poultry, fish, dairy, and junk food during Lent, as I prepare for Easter. What I thought would be simple turns out is much more complicated than I thought. Needless to say, finding this restaurant was heaven sent. I ordered for delivery and delivery was prompt and the food was hot. I tried three things: soup of the day - vegetable, kale and chick pea empanadas, and broccoli and pea Alfredo. When the delivery arrived I was immediately taken by the aroma. Spicy and flavorful is what my nose detected. The nose knows. Each item was delicious. So much so that I would say with food like this there is no question about the do-ability of vegan eating. The soup was robust and hearty, not runny or watered down as one often gets from a can. The empanada was perfectly spiced filled with firm full chickpeas. The biggest surprise was the Alfredo. Massive, enough for two or three to share. I would have preferred just a touch more sauce, but the flavor was exquisite. I will definitely return. read more

I want to personally thank the owner Craig for reaching out to me and addressing my concerns. I understand that not every restaurant experience may go well but I appreciate his swift action into making sure my next experience was perfect. This time when I got my pizza empanadas they were hot and moist, I tried it with the jerk sauce and it was amazing, and my salad was amazing as well, and packaged very nicely and everything was prepared on time.
