I needed a solution to help my dad bridge the transition from living in his home in Arizona to living here in Denver at my house- Sarahcare was a great match for our needs. The folks at Sarahcare are so patient and kind- they really take pride in planning activities to help their participants age in place, and stay active mentally, socially, and physically as possible. My dad especially liked Wednesdays when the group would help deliver meals to other Seniors for Meals on Wheels. I feel it gave him a sense of purpose and kept him active. Even though (because of his memory loss) dad couldn't always tell me what he did each day, the staff was always willing to give "status reports" and keep me in the loop about dad's activities. Each month I could pick up a calendar of events so I knew what was his daily schedule was like. This helped make meal time a little less challenging as I could prompt dad and ask "You had a field trip to the Imax this morning, what movie did you see?" or "I see they had pet therapy animals come in to perform did you enjoy them?" The "secret intel" I got from the calendar and the staff really helped me feel like I could try and keep dad's brain active at home as well! We liked the program so much we recommended it to my husband's grandfather who now attends. The staff at Sarahcare do an amazing job!
