This branch is in a really convenient location and is maintained well. The people who work here are also super nice! I bought my birthday cake (the Purple Carousel chocolate cake) here, and they gave me an extra bag of sweets! My favorites are their: *Lemon bars - really great lemon flavor and have a tart, refreshing sweetness *Chocolate revel bars - probably the best I've had *Chocolate Campfire cake - very rich, but in this amazing way where you don't get tired of eating it! I've also had their: *Purple Carousel chocolate cake - classic chocolate cake with these chocolate wafers on top *Mini Pecan Pie - not the consistency I prefer in a pecan pie but the flavor was still very good *Mini Chocnut Pie - light, could use a stronger chocnut flavor, I really liked the crust though *Cookies - I love cookies so I usually get 1 or 2 with whatever else I'm buying that day, theirs are crispy on the edges and chewy on the inside *Quiche Tinapa - Liked this a lot and just ate mine chilled, but I think it would be better to warm it a little at home

To help relieve couples of headache and stress, caterers and event planners created wedding packages which include amenities and styling, not just food. Clearly, this is now a flourishing business. Attending a wedding expo gave me the opportunity to listen to the sales pitch of various caterers. After a day of talking to a number of them, I was able to limit my options to a few which have value features that come at a reasonable price. One such caterer is M Catering and Fine Foods (under Michelin Cuisine and Fine Foods, Inc). In fairness, I initially thought that it belongs to the unreasonably lavish high-end bracket favored by celebrities and socialites. As a matter of fact, one of the first promo cards they handed me was a picture of Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera. Proudly, they claimed to be the caterer to the couple's so-called Royal Wedding. Subsequently, however, I discovered that in terms of value for money deals, M Catering compared favorably with the competitors. It promised amenities and decent theme styling with the absence of a multitude of additional charges that makes calculation more complex than necessary. They had just a few extra charges and they instantly showed me how to do the computation. As far as the menu is concerned, M Catering offers a wide variety of international dishes even for their lowest priced package. This offers relief from the usual run of reception menus of which most everyone is tired by now. Lastly, a word of advice to the wise bride and groom: In looking for a caterer do not simply compare the standard quoted prices but take into account the value of the product and the amenities and styling that come with the package. Most importantly, beware of rules and additional charges that the caterer may have inserted among the fine print.

From your expert advice to the impeccable service from the banquet staff, everything far exceeded our expectations! Our guests were delighted and loved the food and drinks! A few months before BonChon and the other Korean chicken joints came to the Philippine shores,…read morethere was Chicken Charlie. The first time I tried it was in this branch in QC. There was a long line and a long wait just to get one box of the soy garlic chicken. With one bite, I understood why. The chicken is so crunchy, the whole deal seemed unreal. Close your eyes when biting and you wouldn't even know it's actually chicken. That is until you cut into the juicy, flavorful meat. The first experience was simply unforgettable. To this day, I get really bad cravings for their chicken every time I remember how good that first bite was. I love how creative they've become with the menu. There's the usual chicken portions -- they have value meals with one-piece, two-piece or chops, they have a chicken basket with 3, 6 or 12 pieces, they have it in a burger bun, they have it in a bowl with rice, they have it on top of greens, you can even get your chicken with noodles.

I'm pretty sure Chicken Charlie was here way before the whole Bon Chon craze. I remember being…read moretreated here by my aunt during the first week that I just got back from the U.S., and I told her that I wanted to try something new (of course by then, I've had a good dose of Jollibee). Their chicken wings are double-cooked, and served as either soy garlic or spicy. They serve various meal items for chicken wings at a cheap price (at least cheaper than the competition), and somehow I like their version just a bit better. I always go for the spicy option, and I wasn't disappointed at all. It's hot enough to want an extra serving of rice, but not anywhere near tongue-burning sensation. If given the choice to choose between the two, I think Chicken Charlie offers a better flavor and price range than its competition. Also, they have Dynamite Jalapeños - hands-down winner for me!

I also got to try their sizzling tinola which was the only dish that I liked a bit less than the others probably due to the meat seemingly having the flavour of boiled chicken (isn't much), then breaded, fried and served with gravy. Ambience: Good, spacious and well lit. Designs were unique and brings character. Taste: Great, not your typical pares house for sure. Presentation: Great Value: Great, good bargain Service: Great, their wait staff are attentive. Overall: Great, will definitely visit again and try the other dishes that were sold out.

Been hearing a lot about this hole-in-the-wall restaurant that serves Filipino street foods like…read morefishballs, squidballs, and even pares. We often visit the place but found no place to park because of the always-filled Bugis across the street and the pub beside it. Tonight, I guess, is our lucky night. Rapsadoodle comes from two words: rapsa or sarap (delicious) spelled backwards, and doodle (a kind of art by writing scribbles), which is visibly displayed on one side of the wall. Most of the scribbles are pick-up lines and hugots that resonates the Filipino's way of love and comedy. OPMs are played in the restaurant which gives you a Filipino vibe. As for the food, they are neatly presented and clean, which kind of takes out one concern on food sanitation and safety as compaired eating it on the streets. Here are some of the things we ordered: - Beef Pares (Php85) - the classic street food rice meal of beef stew and rice. The meat is tender and the sauce is thick and sweet. A really good pairing with rice, which is unlimited. The sauce and rice is already considered a good meal. - Fried Chicken (Php150) - fried chicken quarter cooked like Max's and served with rice. I am not sure if it's just psychology that once rice is colored yellow, it implies that it is a kind of fried rice. Thus, I was looking for salt which I couldn't find. It was colored plain rice after all. The chicken is juicy but bland, but maybe dependent on the ketchup-vinegar-Jufran-like sauce. - Balls Platter (Php99) - unlimited option is available but I feared I would be too full to try anything else. The platter is composed of fishballs, squidballs, and kikiam, and served with an unli manong's sauce. The sauce is on the sweet side, but my favorite manong near my office still has a better sauce. As for the balls, I like the kikiam better because of the taste and texture. I can hardly taste the flavor of the fishball until I devoured the last few pieces. - Siomai (Php40/5 pcs) - they also have an unli version of this. Siomai is okay. Meaty, but most of its true flavors are covered in the sauce. - Bibingka Waffle - the best part of what we've ordered. I did not expect it to be this good. Soft and moist bibingka-like waffles served with a creamy ice-buko-style coconut ice cream and garnished with condensed milk, dessicated coconut, and brown sugar. An explosion in the mouth, this might be the one dish I will come back for. Overall, food is affordable and is great for students or people with a budget. It is clean so you can eat without worry. I was actually having a hard time deciding on what grade to give. For the taste alone, I would give it a 2.0. However, some factors were to be considered: how often can you eat pares and fishballs at an air-conditioned room? +.5. The bibingka waffle is really something special, +.5. With the rates of inflation and constant-rising of prices, this restaurant offers value for money dishes,

Chanced upon Kabigting's and we thought of something light to eat. This restaurant is popularized by its version of halo-halo, unique pinoy dessert that primarily uses shaved ice as a base. Every part of the country has a different take on Halo-halo. Kabigting's cup is printed with a branding: The Pride of Arayat. Each serving is priced at P100. The main components are Carabao Milk, beans, creamed corn and PASTILLAS. I like halo-halo with less ingredients. The only thing I disapproved of is the intense sweetness. Good thing I ate it with a plate of Lumpiang Sariwa. We were the only customers that time (who in the right mind would eat Halo-halo for dinner). The service is quite fast. Kapampangan cooking is popular with different establishments that sprung out in Manila. Pampaga is the origin of the buco pandan of Nathaniel's, tibok-tibok of Susie's, and even halo-halo of Razon's. Just like Razon's halo-halo, Kabigting's halo-halo only has three ingredients: pastillas, sweetened beans and corn. I suppose the halo-halo in Pampanga is more leaning on to the minimalist rather than those from the Tagalog regions' smogasborg compounding of ingredients. What I really rave for this halo-halo is the creaminess. It does not only come from the milk but from the pastillas. It's actually a sweetened carabao's milk, hence, another source of milk in your halo-halo. The sweetened beans make the halo-halo thick and gives you quite an exercise when you mix your halo-halo. The corn gives the slightest crunch. The three ingredients don't overlap each other in terms of taste, it actually compliments each one. Compared to the ice of Razon's, the ice in Kabigting's halo-halo is very fine. The simple flavour of the halo-halo is just perfect for me. It's a creamy, sweet, and milky desert everyone must try.
