I contacted two roofing companies to come out and provide an estimate on a roof leak. The second company that came out was A.L. Nash & Son's Roofing. Mr. Nash came out and looked at the roof but did not have anyone with him and said he would need to come back to get on the roof and assess the problem. Two days later I receive a call from Mr. Nash saying that he had come out, figured out the problem and then completed the work. I was surprised as I had not authorized him to do the work; only to provide a quote. He said it would be $375 for the work. I went ahead and paid because I didn't feel I had a choice. I feel Mr. Nash took matters into his own hands to ensure he got the job by doing it without my explicit authorization. In late December, I noticed that the leak had not been fixed. I contacted I contacted Mr. Nash by email and phone several times without a response. After a month, I sent another email requesting my money back as I needed to get this done and hire a new company. He said that there were no warranties and there was nothing he would do for me. Quite frankly, since he did the work without my consent or a signed contract, how would I even know if there were warranties. Very unprofessional and unethical in my opinion. read more
