Welcome back new and improved Cracker Barrel! A local favorite returns with a new look, new staff…read moreand a welcoming vibe. This is great part of the local Hingham community where you can stop to pick up a few things you forgot at the supermarket, run in to grab a great cup of coffee, pick up a bottle of wine or a 6-pack of beer, or stop for a delicious freshly made sandwich. You might run into one of your neighbors and get to have a chat. The staff is friendly and inviting. Kids love this place. You often find several bicycles parked out front. I have fond memories of small local stores like this when I was growing up so it's nice to see that there is a place that fits the same bill in Hingham where kids on bikes can drop by for a treat and adults can find a few needed things too. So glad Cracker Barrel is back and better than ever.

The staff were so kind and even took our order before the deli officially opened, which was such a nice touch. Even though it was busy with families stopping in, kids riding up on bikes, and people grabbing items on their way to work, everything ran smoothly and felt welcoming. The outdoor seating area is great with plenty of tables, benches, cornhole, a walk-up soft serve/Italian ice window, and even a Free Little Library. Inside and out, everything was clean and well kept. Perfect mix of deli, general store, and community spot. Can't wait to come back!

Normally, I get my coffee at Cumberland Farms, since I think they have the best coffee around. But…read moreI stopped in here,, since there aren't many Cumby's in the area.. So I dispense the coffee in my cup, and it's the last of the coffee from that carafe. Then I try to dispense the half & half from the dispenser that they have, and nothing comes out. I informed the cashier of this, and he told me they don't fill those dispensers anymore. However, they did have the imitation cream in the thimbles. I don't really like that stuff, but I figured I'd add a few to my coffee and see how it tasted, and it wasn't good! Now I know why I only trust Cumberland Farms for convenience store coffee. Unless you like the imitation milk / half & half, you probably won't like 711's coffee.

I downgraded my original review by one star because the pumps now have music and ads that blare…read morefrom the pumps while you are filling up. It is beyond annoying and LOUD! I will reiterate as I mentioned in my original review that I personally never come here myself because I hate pumping my own gas. There are plenty of other nuisance chores that I have no trouble doing but as long as I can find a gas station with attendants I will gladly pay more to have someone else do the filling. That said, my husband disagrees with me and he appreciates the lower prices here so if I am with him, we sometimes end up here and he fills the car up. It is still difficult to get in and out the station as it abuts a busy rotary and the way the pumps are so closely situated to one another it can be a nightmare to get in and out of the station. It's an accident waiting to happen. We have been here twice in recent months and both times there were problems with the pumps...once the pump would not release the credit card and another time, the pump ended up having to be adjusted by the person inside the little convenience store so that it would function. Often times you are unable to get a receipt without going into the store as they seem to not do a great job of refilling the receipt paper at the pump. One of the complaints from others in my town with which I heartily agree is that this gas station sits on a prime piece of property which is literally across from beautiful Hingham Harbor. We have enough gas stations in town and would love to see this place go away and become something more attractive and fitting the location. It would be a great spot for a small specialty shop, bakery, sandwich shop etc...anything but yet another gas station with a crummy convenience store. I wish Massachusetts was a state like New Jersey and Oregon where pump-it-yourself gas stations are illegal. NJ and Oregon rightly believe that since fuel is flammable, it's best to leave the job of pumping it to an attendant. Having gas stations served by attendants also creates jobs. So one star for lower gas prices and that's all this place gets. Ditch the music and ads blaring out of the pumps please. PS There is nothing in the depressing convenience store that anyone really needs (in my opinion) but junk food and overpriced odds and ends.

I ran out of gas up the street and came in asking to borrow a gas can and buy some gas to fill it…read more He said I could buy one but I said I just wanted to borrow one and return it right away. He said okay I'll grab one and brought out a plastic water bottle gallon jug with no cap. He told me to go to pump 4 and fill it. I did and then realized it had a small hole in it that I had to plug with my finger. This was a shit show and I should've just gone next door to mobile but I didn't think of it because I was flustered and in kind of a time crunch. The cashier should know not to carry and especially suggest carrying gas in one of those containers.

I would get to the register and find the sale price was not coming up which of course is not good and is also a pain. This pricing problem happened so many times that I not only spoke to the manager but also called the area manager to complain. Another time, they mixed up a prescription order and gave it to the wrong person who then contacted me! All kinds of problems with that error! As well, I would often find the shelves not well stocked. They would seemingly be out of things but if you asked, the item could generally be found in the back room. This meant you had to find someone to ask, which was not always easy since the place seems understaffed, and that person would then have to go search the stockroom. Tick-Tock. Lastly, the lines were often long because there would only be one cashier. So even though this would be a most convenient CVS for me, I have stopped torturing myself and no longer come here.

For the prices that CVS is now charging and the sneaky sales they have, I think I will shop elsewhere!!

I was actually quite amazed at how many different products that they could fit into the available space. Very good merchandising skills. They offer lots of products here including canned goods, cleaning and household supplies, ice cream, cold beverages, groceries, pet food, candy, chips, snack items and more. I was there for a snack so I grabbed a package of M&M candies. When I went to the register to pay I noticed some brownies for sale on the counter so I grabbed one of those as well. I will definitely patronize this store going forward. They don't really advertise the vape products, but they are in a glass case in the back of the store. They don't carry a huge choice of batteries, but they have a nice little selection of various mods. The two times I've been in they seem to have a few core items, and they rotate others in and out. Nice little selection and very reasonable prices.

Yes, you can grab whatever you actually came in for, but somewhere between walking through the door and meeting Laura, the incredible owner, you'll realize you've accidentally stumbled into one of the best forms of late-night entertainment in P-Town. Laura is bubbly, hilarious, welcoming, and genuinely seems to love every person who walks through her doors. This is NOT an "grab your essentials and leave" kind of convenience store. Clear your schedule. You might be here for an hour. Maybe two. And if you wander in after midnight? Even better. Chuck a duck. Find the hand. Stay for a glizzy. Listen to some music. Have a conversation with a complete stranger who somehow feels like an old friend by the time you leave. Come in looking for snacks and walk out with a story you'll probably be telling for years. There are convenience stores, and then there's Essentials. Because apparently the real essentials in life are good music, good food, ridiculous games, spontaneous conversations, a little late-night chaos, and people who make you feel welcome the second you walk through the door. 10/10. Come for the essentials. Stay because you completely forgot why you came in. And Laura--never change. Provincetown wouldn't be the same without you.
