    Brookdale Murrieta - Visiting grandma

    Brookdale Murrieta

I can only affirm the negative comments that others who have given a low rating to the Brookdale…read moreMurrieta facility. The management of this facility are only concerned about how much they can charge the inmates. If you put a family member in this facility, demand a monthly billing statement from them and check it carefully. My brother was unable to stand or walk on his own. He needed help to do everything but eat the food that he constantly complained about. Even though he was paying $10,000 a month for care, he received very little help from the staff. He had repeated severe urinary tract infections due to the lack of staff attention, to the point that he was in and out of the local hospitals repeatedly. Even though he was in the hospital, Brookdale continued to bill him for "tray service" (taking food to his room). If you don't live close to Brookdale, find another care home. If you do live close to Brookdale, don't assume that just because you are paying thousands of dollars a month that he/she will receive the care they are paying for; check on your loved one frequently. In early 2026 while in hospice care, my brother died from a severe urinary tract infection.

They asked us who we were there to see and which room. We told them and they reviewed covid guidelines- we did have our masks on already. Masks are required in all the common areas and when walking around the facility. When you are in your loved one's room, you don't have to wear the mask. We walked through the entryway where there was a Christmas tree and decorations for the holiday. The entire assisted living facility was festive and fun. We walked past the dining area, which looked like a nice big space. There were several areas for gathering and socializing for the residents. One room had this giant puzzle in it. There is also an outside courtyard available too. They offer groups and classes and all kinds of fun things for the residents that live here. It's extremely quiet, which is nice so you can visit with your loved one. Please don't park in the resident parking along the side. There are plenty of parking spots for visitors nearby and lots of parking outside the stores in the same shopping center.

Making this decision for a family member is never easy. Cari made us feel so comfortable. She was kind, understanding and gentle during our meeting. Through the process, she answered all of our questions and was always available to listen to our concerns. One of the many things we loved at our first meeting was the friendly staff. Every staff member greeted us with a welcoming smile and a friendly hello. Cari knew every resident's name and many stopped to chat with her. It assured us that she really, truly cared about every individual there. It was very important to us for our mom to be somewhere we would want to bring her grandchildren to. WellQuest is incredibly family friendly. Her grandchildren loved the billiards, movie room and especially the food. The staff at WellQuest thinks outside the box to make sure every resident's needs are being met. Our mother had a tough time transitioning to her new way of living. Cari and her incredible staff kept in close communication with us daily. She checked in on our mom several times a day. She personally introduced our mom to other residents and encouraged her to be more social. It's been a few months and our mom is thriving! We will forever be grateful for the WellQuest staff and especially Cari.

My brother and I went to five different assisted and Memory Care Facilities around the Temecula Murrieta area, and all of their memory cares look like zombieland. Very few caregivers, everybody sitting around doing nothing, no music, no one doing activities no laughing and very very depressing. And then we found Vineyard Ranch. The facility is beautiful and very well-kept. When we walked into the memory care, everybody was out of their rooms and doing something. People were laughing, talking activities were going on everywhere, and staff were visible throughout the rooms. Completely different environment and that made us very, very happy. She has been there for 3 weeks now, and she doesn't mention going home at all. She tells everyone this is her home and that she loves it there. She's always doing an activity and keeping busy. She's made a lot of friends. The food is good and she finishes all of her meals. Staff are always there to keep an eye on everyone. After any exercise, the staff brings everyone protein smoothies. Every Thursday they have an excursion to someplace fun and stimulating. At a time when dealing with a situation like this, it can be extremely stressful and create feelings of guilt. Vineyard Ranch has made the transition smooth, easy, and very pleasant. We are so happy to see Mom happy laughing and involved. Couldn't ask for more than that.

If I could, I would give Heather and her staff at Concord Estates 10 stars…read more My dad lived at Atria for 3 years in the unassisted / Sheffield building, which he loved. Unfortunately, and like with so many other older people, a UTI lead him from one health issue to another, until he required around the clock care. Atria did nothing to help us and left us feeling disadisappointed and misled. Suddenly, we were having to arrange 24 hour caregiving while also having to look for his new and hopefully LAST home. Luckily, we were directed to Concord Estates by two unrelated, but equally enthusiastic, referrals. I called Heather and it turned out that there was one room open... the same room recently left open by the father of referal #2 and lived in by the father of referal #1 directly before that! It felt like (and I believe was) divine affirmation that we were going to the right place! We were lucky that it happened the way it did, but it is the exception. Most people have to look online, read reviews, and pray that they are making the right choice for their loved one. So I am writing this to let you know that you can stop your search now - take deep a breath and relax. Advocating for your loved one is no easy task and sometimes it feels like you are fighting everyone you come in contact with, just to have them treat your loved one with the respect and honor they deserve! When you move your family member into Concord Estates, Heather and her staff (especially Sammi!) become your new teammates in that fight. Unfortunately, my dad's health worsened quicker than anyone had anticipated and he passed away last week. He was in the ER for a catheter related infection, when he suffered a massive stroke. Sammi and an outside caregiver named Ben came to visit Bill in the hospital the night before he passed. Nobody paid them for that, they did it because they CARE about the people the work with. Heather was in constant contact with my sister, my wife, and me during that chaotic last week in the hospital. She called the Drs and nurses in the ER and the hospital, still advocating for him, right up until the end. She deciphered their mixed messages for us, listened to us vent, and did WAY more then the owner of the board and care facility where he happened to live at would ever be expected to do. Please... take another deep breath and relax now. If you are lucky enough to get your loved one into Concord Estates, thank god and know that they (and you) are in very good hands.

That changed drastically for us and I actually removed my Mom from the Medi-Cal waiver and we are now paying full price for care elsewhere. I felt it very necessary to move her in order to have the quality of her life much better than it was at Concord. I cannot recommend it to anyone at this time.
