A little orange cat was standing on our back wall one day, just... there. She let us pet her, she let us feed her. Then she followed us by shoving herself into the dog door. No chip, and she was just a little teenie-bopper kitty. About a year later... MCACC had this Cattle Mix. We didn't see her beforehand, we met her there at the shelter. A total surprise, and a total sweetheart. She was a maniac at first, not gonna sugarcoat. But we realized she needed more help, and the rest is history. Two little outcasts, getting along beautifully, for over a year now Though I will mention, it can be a tad cutthroat with adoption, especially small dogs from what others say. You'd think with the prices being so high, it would encourage others for the larger dogs, but nope! People like their apartment/bag-sized dogs a LOT. Upon receiving this kitten, I noticed that it had the genitalia of a boy. The male kitten also had a dark bump in his eye. This was unintentional so I was not upset with her about this happening. However what upset me was that she was not willing to refund me the $75 I paid to have a female orange kitten. She expected me to donate my money to her even though I did not receive what I expected. She did not fulfill her side of the contract by providing me a female orange kitten (as advertised), and yet I don't get my money back. It's not like I got what I expected and then suddenly decided to change my mind. PLEASE stay away from adopting from this rescue. She will scam you your money even if she is the one in the wrong. Also the reviews left on yelp for her lash business are so bad as well, I honestly should have trusted my gut feeling when I saw those bad reviews.

This love is reflected back to us from our kittens because they were so well cared for. Everything about our experience was positive and we enjoyed getting to know Lisa and Ariella and we will stay in touch with them so they know their babies are enjoying their new home. One poor Shepard was jumping to the top of his pen hitting his head every time. Horrible and so sad. I didn't see any type of yard either, where the dogs could be walked. I could smell dog feces from my car! Stay far from this place. I can't believe the state allows them to operate.

The facility itself is in a…read moresketchy area surrounded by barbed wire, and excrement can be smelled from all the way across the street. I came by first for a meet and greet, and Connie was good with answering my questions (in person and via text) to the best of her ability and let me bring my other dog to see how they got along. We met in a little front room and all other dogs were somewhere else behind a door, so I didn't see what normal living conditions were like. I picked him up a few days later and was told he was in good health and up to date on all shots except two, and they handed me his vet records, which I had requested. Upon bringing him home, I noticed he had diarrhea, sometimes accompanied with blood in his stools. He was drinking a crazy amount of water, and pooped around ten times a day. He was clearly unwell. His vet records showed he had been previously treated for these issues, and I wish I would have been made aware of this before, when I asked about his health. I took him to my vet, and a fecal exam revealed he had two different parasites, giardia and cystoisospora. The vet explained how easy it is to spread and get reinfected by these parasites, especially among high concentrations of dogs. Some older dogs may not exhibit symptoms but still be carriers, while younger dogs suffer quite a bit. I have no doubt that most of the other dogs at this rescue are infected. I contacted Connie about this issue. She said she was unaware my puppy was sick, but understood the circumstances and agreed to pay for his medication. While it was clear to me from the very start that he was sick, I understand she is caring for so many dogs at a time and may not be able to keep track of whose poop is whose, etc. However, other potential adopters need to know the conditions these dogs are in so they can make an informed decision.

I left a couple of voice messages then followed up via email requests ( per instructions on their…read moresite) nearly every week from May 15th - Aug 15, 2025 and no one ever responded to my voice mails or emails. Not once! I hear they are overwhelmed, because I know someone who volunteers for them. There is NO EXCUSE, I repeat, NO EXCUSE for completely ignoring and refusing to return ANY messages or emails from someone. Pick up the phone or write an email saying sorry we can't get to you. The problem is, a coworker DID get a response and DID get help during this same time period. I believe these people are selectively picking and choosing who they want to help, and if they don't want to help you, you will NEVER get helped. Someone should report them to the state AG. Oh I tried to get help from them last year in May also and no one ever called or emailed me then, either. UNBELIEVABLE.
