I sent to Perfect Pastry an email inquiring about the possibility of making a custom birthday cake with a specific layered interior filling, and a custom inscription on the top of the cake, and a card. Nermina responded the very next day with detailed information and a price. Even with a nine hour time difference Nermina was extremely responsive, and detail-oriented. I was also able to request a specific two hour delivery window. The cake arrived at my in-laws' apartment exactly on time. The cake was visually beautiful, and the filling was exactly as I had requested. My wife and her family reported that it was one of the most delicious birthday cakes they had ever enjoyed! The cake was indeed perfect, and so was the experience in terms of inquiring, ordering and executing. The Winterland has Oreo sprinkles on top and three layers of cream: Jasmine tea, taro, and hazelnut. The crepe had a lovely light and airy texture. I really enjoyed it! Personally, I'm not sure if the long wait and the fact that things are constantly sold out is worth it, especially since their matcha latte was average at best. My tip: If you get a cake, I would opt for unsweetened matcha.
