On our way to Miradouro da Senhora do Monte, we were drawn in by the sweet aroma of fresh seafood wafting along the cobblestone street. After watching the sunset, we retraced our steps down the long flight of steps to see if we could snag an open table. Just our luck, a table for two was available! We scanned the menu, which was in Portuguese and English, and decided on the Arroz de Gambas C/ Amêijoa (Prawn Rice with Clams). Boy, are we glad we did. The dish was savory and perfectly stewed. We felt like visitors to a quaint family kitchen. Now I want to return to try the Polvo à lageriero (Lagereiro-style Octopus). What a great little gem tucked one street over from a popular viewpoint overlooking Lisbon! read more
