I had trusted A Clean Sweep to continue doing a good job after I had already used them several times to clean out my stove pipes from built up soot. But when they installed a new stove, only one person showed up and he was new and ended up dropping the stove because he couldn't get it up the stairs on the deck. After the install, the stove has leaked, causing my windows to smoke up and the carbon monoxide detector to go off. And the worst part is, Randy won't take responsibility for it and so I am being forced to file a complaint with Larimer County and take legal action. read more

I had them out to clean and inspect the fireplace chimney of our new-to-us home. They found that the Pillar-to-Post inspector was mistaken, and the damper was working fine, though a little sticky, which may have thrown him, so they didn't charge me for that. They cleaned the as-it-turns-out very dirty chimney, told me a couple pending problems and what it would cost to fix them, without trying to upsell me that day. Very good. The price was exactly what they'd told me ($199), both guys were nice, professional, covid-safe, and efficient, and they certified my fireplace for use. They also promised to call in the spring for the other things, should I choose to do them. read more

2/4/18: After receiving a comment from the business for my rating, I feel compelled to write an update: I do appreciate your response, but I still feel you are inadequate for the following reasons: 1. Your Yelp Entry / More Info tab *still* advertises air duct and dryer vent cleaning - two services you did not provide, even though your office scheduled them. I will post a screen shot of that as proof. Your willingness to schedule services, then refuse to complete them -even going so far as to tell to my face - "we don't do that", left me hanging and cost me a lot of money for time off work/rescheduling another company, and all because you back-pedal after you show up to do the work. At least it appears you removed if from your web page and Facebook. 2. It is true that I did finally receive a "report" of the chimney inspection on November 27; months after the fact and after I called and complained several times, and still three weeks after my original review on Yelp (11/06). I do appreciate your apology, but I have to say, the report is quite underwhelming and the video inspection - as far as I can tell - is not worth the cost. The report excludes any video, has two pictures of the inside of the flue, at the joint which can be easily viewed by looking up from the fireplace with a flashlight. I wanted a top-to-bottom video or photographs, especially in the middle/upper areas that cannot been seen without the camera. 3. You claim all your employees are CSIA certified and competent. Well, your competitor was able to pull up current codes on his tablet computer, with example pictures, and *demonstrate* real time my dryer duct work is in code. Oh-- and then he actually cleaned them out -- how nice. He did what I asked. He also showed me his certification & qualifications as part of the service orientation. 4. This isn't my first rodeo with A Clean Sweep. If you can go back in your records, you will see you've done chimney cleanings and inspections on this address going back almost two decades. So why is my chimney okay for almost twenty years, then suddenly not? How does that jive with CSIA certification and competence? 5. I don't think my opinion and ratings are an outlier. Your cumulative Yelp reviews aren't very glamorous. Many others question your professionalism (or lack of), and competence (or lack of). ******************************* Original Review, 11/26/17: Ya know, the guy was nice enough and all, but I really got the feeling he's trying to find issues to drum up more business. Found issues with my fireplace flue and recommended it not be used until all his findings were fixed (and, of course, provided estimates for Clean Sweep to do the work), ditto for the dryer vent which I had asked to be cleaned out - he wouldn't even do the dryer work because "that would imply it's safe to use, and the duct violates code". I think he just didn't want to be outside anymore because it was cold, windy and starting to snow. I scheduled a *different* company to clean the furnace ducts, since Clean Sweep said they don't "do that anymore" (news flash: it's in your advertising, on FB, and your website). Turned out to be a good thing, the furnace duct cleaners also clean and inspect flues and dryer vents. They totally rebuffed what Clean Sweep's guy was saying about the chimney flue and dryer duct (CS said the dryer duct violates code, which is complete BS -- the *different* company guy even looked up and showed me the code guidance on his tablet computer). I've had the fireplace, the flue, the dryer duct, and the furnace ducts cleaned on a regular schedule since I've owned this place (almost 20 years). This is the first time anyone's ever pooped all over the duct work and made a list of reasons why I shouldn't use it and why I should pay them to come back and fix it all. I remember seeing one of the local News stations run a sting on fireplace/chimney sweeps, showing how guys try to scare owners into buying up extra "repairs". This certainly smells like one of those rats. I don't think I'll be so quick to use these folks again. My recommendation to anyone hiring any chimney/fireplace cleaning and inspection service: if they claim you need repairs because something's so unsafe you shouldn't use it - and especially if they try to up sell you on those repairs - get a second opinion. Finally, I paid $100 extra for a video camera inspection of the fireplace and flue (It is almost 40 years old). Think I'd get copies of the pictures as promised? Think again, still waiting on a formal report with photos, three weeks after the fact. read more

Called ACS to have our older Chimney/Fireplace inspected and cleaned. Our house was built in the 1930s and our fireplace hadn't been used in what appeared to be a long time. Andrew came out to our house and was very detailed in explanation of our situation. I felt his recommendations for service were spot on and he did not try to up-sell me unnecessarily on anything I didn't need. He did a great job and cleaned up the area he serviced before he left. My only suggestion for this company is that they rethink the way their phone system works. I was never actually able to get someone to answer the phone unless I started to leave a voice message on their answering machine. I'm very convinced that had I not left a message, I would not have ever gotten through to anyone, which is unfortunate. Once I did speak to someone, they were very nice and pleasant to deal with. All in all, a very good experience. I would recommend them to friends and family, and we will definitely use them again for future services. read more

If I could give them no stars, I would. They came to inspect and sweep our chimney in September, and told us that our wood stove and chimney were in satisfactory condition and safe to burn. In December, we had a chimney fire in our house. Upon further inspection, some of the vents were not connected properly, and the entire chimney was rusted out. Not really my idea of satisfactory. When I called to bring to their attention, the "certified chimney sweep" who inspected our chimney was extremely condescending and rude from the start. He told me that I shouldn't be calling, but that my husband should (super misogynistic)! He kept telling me that I didn't understand how chimney's were supposed to work, and called me a liar when I told him my husband had to put the fire out He was very aggressive and unprofessional. At the end, he told me to go ahead and call his boss, and called me a lunatic. I would not recommend this company to anyone. read more

This company is first class! We purchased a home in Estes Park. Our options for cIeaning here are few. We had a local chimney company come out & told us that all three of my chimney's needing cleaning in addition to my chimney top needing a chimney cap at the cost of $500. Once on the roof we were told that a cap wouldn't fit (rock chimney & uneven). We were told they could put a product on top to prevent water penetration @ the cost of $1500 (tripple the cost) for the chimney top alone. Decided something was fishy & called "A Clean Sweep" to come clean our chimneys & apply the same product recommended by first company @ a fraction of the cost. Andrew from "A Clean Sweep" was not only friendly, professional, but so informative!!! We did NOT need all chimneys clean as the lower level had barely been used AND the top of the chimney was just fine & in no need of this $1500 protective barrier. Who do you think I'll be referring my business to in the future. A Clean Sweep rates A+ on this site for a reason folks....they are honest, efficient & left my home clean. read more
