Dan was extremely patient with me explaining the price breakdown, and what I could get for the minimum charge; it really felt like he was trying to make sure I got he maximum amount of treatment for the money I was spending. After hashing out the details, Cayden came out to do the carpet cleaning and pet treatment. He was hands down the most polite, kind service provider I have ever had in my home. My dog even bothered him when my kids let him back in the house while my back was turned and he didn't mind one bit, he was just friendly and nice to my pup. He really listened to me when I explained what was getting treated and what I wanted. Once the job was done, he cleaned up and gave my husband clear instructions for the drying period, and was off! After a few days I noticed the pet smell was still pretty strong, so I reached out to Dan again. He told me it can take a few treatments depending on how heavily the carpet was soiled, and he wound up setting me up with two more appointments for the pet treatment - at no additional cost! It's fantastic, I really feel like Island ChemDry has taken care of us and our carpet. After I accepted the quote they told me that there is now a $300 minimum for pickup/dropoff service. I have always utilized the free pickup/dropoff service since my husband and I don't have a car. This policy change is not advertised on their website, and less than 30 days ago (July 25, 2025) they advertised this service being free. https://www.facebook.com/FuzzyWuzzyRug/photos/free-pickup-deliverydont-lift-a-finger-well-pick-it-uptoo-busy-to-drop-off-your-/1338285658299815/?_rdr I was willing to pay more because, sure, the cost of business has gone up and we've had good experiences with this company previously. SCAM SCAM SCAM I PROMISE YOU! DO NOT HIRE!!!! To respond to his story: I am very happy to pay people for a good job, even a mediocre job all the time. I only refused to pay until the job was done, like any normal business transaction. He text blasted me for hours until I finally gave in only because he promised to finish the job. Any business that can't wait until the job is complete shows they are desperate thus not as successful as they claim. Which made me suspicious so I looked up his business and can't find a thing except for his website. Point is, said he could do a job, promised to come back and complete the job including windows "market ready" and did not - after getting paid. Didn't call or text to say he wasn't even planning on returning. If you get paid you should do what you promised to do. How would you feel if you still had a filthy house - we're made to pay anyway - and they just have your money - robbed.
