Highly recommend!!!…read more I first sent Heart a photo of my hair and an example of the hair I wanted (light/blonde highlights) and booked an appointment. I got there early, so she was working on other clients, and right at 2pm, my appointment time, she started on my hair. By the end of my appointment, someone had JUST walked in. I loved how she times her appointments right on the dot and honors the time of the clients. When I sat down in the chair, she offered some recommendations given my skin tone, and mentioned that the blonde color highlights I originally asked for may not be the most flattering. She wasn't pushy or pressured me to go with her recommendations; I just know nothing about hair, so I was happy to go along with it. She recommended red-violet highlights... and I am blown away how nice the hair color she chose really look amazing! the color really did complement my skin tone. Given my naturally dark hair, the highlights is subtle enough that it's not the most noticeable unless you look closely or in the sunlight which I really like (especially considering I work in a professional environment), so the hair style is perfect. My appointment was about an hour and a half. I got a trim (1 in), bleaching process for highlights, shampoo, dye wash, blow dry + hair curled. This was ~$150 (+tip), which is a GREAT deal. We had great conversations (she gives great life advice!), and even offered me some food and chocolate as we were the only ones there and I was chilling at the bleach processor station. As other reviews describe, it's not a high-end salon. This is very much a humble business - one where the experience the client has and the value of the haircut made it the best haircut place I've been to in years!!! So I highly recommend :)

For context the stylist I've been to for years is based in Baltimore and with how traffic can get I can't justify spending 40% of my saturday going to Baltimore to get my hair done. So I began the search looking for a new hairstyle salon. Tried Alexandria, Springfield, even Fairfax. But none have provided what I need and certainly not justifiable of the price it commanded. So I tried HairSocial because I found it on Google and I liked I can book online. My hair appointment consists of the following: Wash, Blow Dry, and an undercut. Sometimes I'll get it flat-ironed depending on the occasion. So I booked 4 days in advance and when I arrived for my appointment I had to wait 20 mins after my actual time (for context it was a Sunday afternoon and no one else was in the shop except for one customer). When I was seated I was only given a haircut and nothing else despite asking for a hair wash and a blowout. Considering I had to put a downpayment online to book the appointment I naturally felt bamboozled. They offered to do what I originally asked but they said I had to wait an hour. I didn't have time as I had a family dinner I had to attend so I decided to go home and wash my own hair. Before I left, the front desk offered to refund me on my card and then said no and could only offer me a credit. The credit was tied to my account yet the credit isn't available when you book online you can only access the credit if you call to set up an appointment. Extremely disappointed but the stylist did a great job with my haircut. I'm just disappointed that I didn't get what I paid for at a reasonable time. Thankfully the management of the loc in Tysons Corner set things right and as a result despite this location being closer to me I go out of my way to visit the HairSocial in Tyson's Corner (that review will be coming shortly).

Filled with gratitude to Julie at Mirror Mirror Salon in Vienna. I posted in this group earlier, in…read morehopes of finding a stylist to fix my hair. She reached out to me via DM and offered to help me with my hair-mergency. I previously went to a salon in Falls Church where my hair was cut unevenly(one side longer than the other/thinner than the other), severely thinned out at the bottom and given choppy "layers"(if you could even call them that. Initially I wasn't able to tell walking out of the salon due to the way the stylist had blew out my hair - it was only when I washed it for the first time that I noticed it. I was too embarrassed to even take photos of my hair and tried to hide it the best I could by curling it again for work. Julie did an amazing job saving what she could of my hair. She evened out the bottom as best as it could be (there is still some thinness/patchiness just due to the previous stylist) but I couldn't be more grateful for her time and work. If you're ever in need of a great service, I highly recommend seeing Julie and taking advantage of her 20+ years of knowledge/experience.

I knew it was finally time for a big chop and I'm so grateful I ended up in the hands of Tricia!! She really listened to me and made sure I was okay with how things were looking throughout the entire process. I can't thank Tricia enough for transforming my hair from way too long, dead, flat and unhealthy to a much more full, healthy, face framing look. She understood exactly what I was asking for and executed! The location was cozy and casual and I knew I was in good hands right off the bat. The salon is on the second floor and easy to find if you are looking for the coffee shop in the plaza. It's one of those locations you'll probably drive by the first time but once you find it it's easy to remember.
