Casa do Evaristo was just down the street and around the corner from where we were staying in Porto. My wife and I came here for breakfast each morning. The cafe gets lots of natural sunlight, the decor is great, and the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. Most our communication was with a younger gentleman with an ear piercing who worked there. He was friendly and able to help us in English. He was also very patient even though we probably had a million questions for him. Sometimes service took a little longer than it should but I think that's just the Portuguese style. Then again at other times the guy working was the only one around and he'd be trying to take orders, make the food, serve customers and clean the tables all at the same time. The Portuguese tarts here were decent and better than another cafe we tried nearby. Coffee was also good here. I wouldn't make a special trip to the cafe, but if you're staying in the area or happen to be around the neighbourhood it's a nice place to stop by for breakfast or a snack. read more
