Scan insurance gave me house cleanings when I broke my leg and was confined to a wheelchair. "A Care Beyond Measure"was sent out and ...oh my goodness what a job they did! I like the fact that they try to send the same person every time. Leya not only was super sweet and willing to clean all those areas like the floor and corners and behind things that I couldn't reach. She was so thorough, and my house sparkled afterwards. My husband was in a bad traffic accident and was in our home in Palm Desert, while my daughters and I are in Northern California. We hired Cecilia to provide caregivers when he was released from the hospital. She was beyond caring and cooperative in providing caregivers to help with whatever he needed and keeping us informed. She was never too busy to call back and arrange everything that was necessary, even on short notice. Although he is not an easy personality to deal with, his two main caregivers; Cely and Imee, were very patient and willing to go beyond what was needed. In addition, Cely in particular, helped him care for and walk his dog and took him everywhere he needed to go until he was able to drive. Our family has had two experiences with A Care Beyond Measure, both fabulous! This most recent was due to our Mom having a stroke. She was not able to walk, was having trouble with incontinence, RLS, and general discomfort. Cecilia was our first choice since we already had experience with her caregivers. She was attentive to the need, and quickly arranged for Eloise, (an angel of a lady) to come to our Mom's rescue. Eloise brought knowledge and experience along with her gentle, but firm understanding of Mom's needs, including her meds, meals, as well as a listening ear. She provided comfort and sweet companionship while Mom struggled through the side effects of the stroke. Our family felt so relieved and confident having Eloise attend our Mom. This service provided a caregiver to my client for end of life care. She didn't follow the guidance whatsoever that was given and after 16 hours to me walking in to the caregiver over her changing a diaper she was never asked to do and stated she couldn't do due to weight, as my clients lips are purple, she can't breathe, moaning, and fluid in her lungs. It was horrific when I came in that morning. No call was made to the caregiver in charge, nothing. The company chose to defend the caregiver and not hear anything of the condition or care and commented only that she's sorry it wasn't to my expectations. I wouldn't allow them to care for my dog. I can't say enough about A Care Beyond Measure. We have had three experiences with them over the past two years for my father in law, my sister and most recently my mom. They were a complete blessing in all three cases and made each of their transitions to the next life so much easier on us so that we could focus on our loved ones. Most recently, with my mom, we had Norma with us full time as a caregiver for my mom. She was an absolute angel and so amazing! My mom was peaceful, comfortable and so well cared for around the clock and it allowed me to just be her daughter, spend time at her bedside, and just be there. I just can't say enough! Caregiver Norma was such a blessing to both my dear mom, Normie, and myself. Mom died today (Wednesday AM, Nov 7th) so Norma left about 2ish to go home for a very well deserved rest. Norma had common sense and loving care for mom. She was always right in line with what the Hospice nurses suggested for best protocols and comfort for my sweet mom, Normie. Norma was always by my mom's bedside and simply did what needed to be done both professionally and compassionately. What a great and compassionate Christian and Christian practice she has. It bespeaks volumes of her. Even though I have a nursing background (ancient) it was more than I could bear as a daughter watching mom die and the simple ignomies that go along with elder dying and the slippery slope down. While I knew these processes and stages intellectially and had dealt with people dying in a prior life of my nursing career, it was numbing and incapacitating to be on the receiving end. Norma stepped in at all the right times and places to be supportive of both Normie and myself and family. Having her there allowed me to be the daughter instead of the caregiver because Norma took care of and anticipated mom's most embarassing but basic/mundane health and hygiene needs (often just took a lot of time to get done, demanding, requiring so much patience). I was able to just be her daughter who loved her. Mom loved Norma. I would highly recommend your company. Many thanks. read more

So pleased with the service from Care Beyond Measure! My parent's insurance provided for Return To home care when my 92 year old dad was discharged and recovering from a broken hip. But they struggled to find a care provider available in San Juan Capistrano until A Care Beyond Measure bent over backwards to provide us with Fernando. Fernando was truly a blessing, kind and caring, looking for ways that he could best support my parents needs, and was good company. He opened their eyes to the possibility of caretaking support, which they had resisted, worrying about a stranger in their home. Not only was Fernando wonderful, but the person organizing his visits was very helpful, always confirming the dates and flexing based on their needs. A truly positive experience all around. I was given several Caregivers Businesses by Family Hospice Care. I had spoken to a couple but decided to use A Care Beyond Measure. Even though her business is located in La Mirada, CA, Cecelia had a couple of caretakers in Desert Hot Springs (where I live) and several in Palm Springs. We used A Care Beyond Measure for 4 weeks before our mother passed. A few days before giving Cecilia the schedule I need a caretaker for the following week, my mother was given just a short time left. I gave Cecilia the days and hours and said I would call as soon as anything happens. Cecelia responded by saying "I won't charge you if services are not rendered as long as you cancel an hour before report time." After getting the invoice for the week, I told Cecilia that I would send the check as soon as I got the invoice and she could return any money for time that was not used. Cecilia emailed me saying, "Since Mrs. Wise is now touch and go, please do not send the check out until May 17th". This would have been a day after the last day scheduled. Every time the caretaker was a very nice lady name Ann. Except for one day and that was only because Ann was called in for jury duty. We were with friends and Ann was with mom when mom passed away. I got a call from Ann telling me of mom's passing. I told her I would be right home. When I got home, I was comforted by Ann when she told me that mom tried to talk but couldn't. Ann stroked her hair and said, "Everything will be okay; your children love you very much". Ann gave me a hug before she left. I have nothing but praise for Cecilia and her company, A Care Beyond Measure. No one ever wants to have to use a caretaker, but I am glad that Cecilia and her caretakers where there. read more

I can't say enough about the incredible help I received from Cecilia Santayana. My 92-year-old aunt who lives out of state suddenly needed 24-hour, in-home care and Cecilia was able to have someone placed later that day. My aunt never got along with the few people we had tried to have help her during the day, let alone have someone actually live in her house with her. Until she met Kezia. Under the most difficult of circumstances, my aunt absolutely bonded and fell in love with her. Cecilia has agreed that Kezia should stay with my aunt until she passes on. I can't express my gratitude and what it means to me to know my aunt (and her family) now has peace of mind that she is being taken care of by such a special woman. read more

A Care Beyond Measure has been our home health care for my father for 7+ years. They have provided him with 2 exceptional caregivers, Noel & Emma, who alternate shifts. Because our father is a stroke victim, Noel and Emma care for him accordingly & properly, with the highest regards & compassion. Other care givers have had to step in temporarily if Noel or Emma cannot be there & all good experiences as well. Cecilia is wonderful to work with. Found ourselves in a difficult spot after getting my father home from the hospital under "hospice care".Turns out hospice will provide most all supplies and equipment needed but not 7/24 care.No one at the hospital clearly explained this to us.Did some quick internet research and decided to give 'A care beyond measure' a try.The sent someone right out the next day(offered to send someone the day we called).We were lucky enough to get Norma(with Mariane helping on the weekends)These gals were great.There is no inexpensive option for 7/24 care but their rates are fair and besides caring for the client, they do everything around the house that needs done.My Dad loved them,we loved them. read more

"This company is well named". That's what our whole family says. My mother was in hospice care for her last 5 months of life. Cecilia and Norma and others helped and cared for our every need. They were very attentive, caring and understanding. From little things like taking trash out, cooking food and cleaning to the big tasks of aiding my mom in her last hours. We could not imagine a better service for your loved ones. I would recommend this company to anyone that has this care need. read more

I've been with this company for a couple of years. Finding a good caregiver is difficult, but Cecilia worked with us to find the right one and cover time off. When things didn't go well, she offered to make things right. I've hired other companies that didn't care or offer to fix things. At least she makes the effort to correct problrms. read more

We had a very good experience with Care Beyond Measure. We used the company for almost two years. The caregivers are very good and very compassionate. A few months were had a bit of turnover, but luckily, my father had at least one person the entire time which is a miracle in this business. We had very few hiccups as far as flexibility (we need split shifts) and I would recommend them in a heartbeat. We had used another service for my mother and found several items missing. I never thought twice about that with this company. read more

As mentioned in another review, the contract is not as clear as it seems to be when you sign it. When my Mom was hospitalized, Cecelia told us it was breaking the contract. We had also paid for a week in advance which she did not want to refund. After fighting with her over it, she gave us a partial refund. The caregiver that was provided brought her own lunch and was very nice, but switched her schedule around often because of her family needs. I would not recommend this company, it was frustrating to argue with her over a refund for time not used that she said was owed as a cancelation fee. Meanwhile I don't think she was aware that the caregiver had taken time off, intending to make it up later. So we were owed when Mom had to be hospitalized. Not a great experience. Two stars because the caregiver was nice. read more

My Mother has had "A Care Beyond Measure" home health care for the past three years and is on hospice as well. Norma and Marion go above and beyond to take care of my mother and her daily needs. They are always attentive, patient ,understanding and kind to my mother as well as my father. We are so very touched by the many daily little things they do and go above and beyond. They are both compassionate as well as making sure my mother is always allowed her dignity and respect.We could not imagine better service and are so very blessed to have such amazing care givers.I would highly recommend A Care Beyond Measure!! read more

I am disgusted with the way this person runs their business. No compassion for the family of the ill person. I spoke to her twice about pricing - hourly rates, etc. She knew we were looking first for a person for just 12 hours on a pretty immediate basis. When I called back to tell her to send someone, she asked if we wanted a week or a month contract! I told her neither, just 12 hours. She said 2 day minimum. I said I'd have to call back. I called her back to say fine, we would take someone for 2 days, and then she said, no, the person has to come about 40 miles so it will be a 3 day minimum. We were desperate at that point and said ok. I won't get into EVERYthing that went wrong, but she did not tell us that we had to provide meals for the care giver. The care giver had to tell us. (We didn't even think about this). BUT the caregivers are charged by Care Beyond Measure deducts almost $50 a day for food...from the caregiver!! How does that make sense?? Care beyond measure is not providing ANY food for them! I have to stress that we were very happy with the actual care giver who came. She was very nice and caring. I hope that she doesn't stay with this organization though. They are horrible! read more
