Throughout the process, Lina was professional, compassionate, kind, and extremely helpful. There were several frustrating moments related to scheduling issues, many of which I expressed to Kaiser. Lina was always honest and transparent, explaining that all of their Spanish-speaking caregivers were currently assigned to other clients. Even so, she consistently took the time to listen to my concerns, answer questions, and help explore possible solutions. Lina maintained regular communication to ensure my mother received the specific care she needed when she needed it. While there were some scheduling challenges along the way, Lina remained proactive, attentive, and supportive, helping us navigate each obstacle. I was left waiting without any communication or explanation. * I contacted the agency and left a message for Val to call me who I was told was a supervisor, asking to return my call to discuss what happened. Unfortunately I never received a response. What makes this even more concerning is that they serve elderly individuals, people with disabilities, and families who are already under tremendous stress and relying on these services for support. They present themselves as compassionate and caring, but that has not been my experience. If you are seeking respite services through this agency, be prepared for poor communication, more stress, more disappointment and difficulty getting the assistance you need.

After a medical condition left my mother unable to walk she ended up in a skilled nursing facility for physical therapy to get her mobile again. Her doctor recommended 24 / 7 care. I called and spoke with Ryan who came out the very next day. We talked in detail about Mom's needs. He was comforting, reassuring, friendly, personable, polite, professional and knowledgeable. He made sure to include my mom in on the conversation. I've been with some people that overlook the patient as it may be easier and faster to converse with whoever might be assisting them. He made sure she knew she was the primary party in this process, listen to her needs and concerns and described in detail what they had to offer. Day nurses were MIRKA and ZARA. Their primary job was to see to Mom's safety as she was pretty much having to learn to walk again. They worked 12 hours shifts. They helped her to get in and out of bed, shower, keep her medications in order, got her meals, and assisted with the dog. They did laundry and changed bed linens. (We made sure not to ask them to do anything outside of the scope of their job description.) They took her vitals throughout the day and assisted with her physical therapy. They logged all that they did for her and noted how she was doing with things and progress she was making. Esmeralda was the night nurse. Also a 12 hour shift. Less to do while a patient is sleeping but she still worked and stayed attentive to Mom. She assisted her with bedtime tasks and checked on her hourly through the night; if Mom made any noises she made sure she was OK. Also logging things through the night. If Mom needed anything - getting to the bathroom, a drink of water - Esmeralda saw to it. She also tidied up anything around the kitchen or living room. All three of these women were kind and compassionate and receptive to Mom's needs. And they possessed all of the qualities noted above for Ryan. They were instrumental in Mom's healing. My hope, naturally, is that Mom won't need this kind of care anymore. But if so I wouldn't hesitate contacting LWHC. I cannot think of enough positive adjectives to describe them. I am forever grateful for them.

They show great concern, are available for questions by text and have aided in the recovery of my husband not getting an infection and in care of my mother with multiple health issues and falls. My mother is 91 and also has bath aide with Yolanda, this has been a huge help to me to have this assistance twice a week and has take some weight off my shoulders. She is so very kind and patient with my mother which is beyond wonderful. We have had Stan for PT for both my husband after surgery and my mom after falls and he is OUTSTANDING, compassionate and keeps my mom laughing which helps her spirit. If we need PT we always request Stan! My reason for only giving 3 instead of 5 is NOT the Nurses, Aides or PT it is SUPPLIES - they take months and I have to purchase supplies out of my own pocket then the supplies show up 2-3 months after ordered and WRONG things come, not even what was ordered. For example my husband had foot surgery and supplies were ordered by Jill, followed up at least 5 times and finally THREE MONTHS later they show up and there are multiple things never ordered in the box. In the meantime to avoid an infection I had to purchase supplies. Our recent order for a fall for my mom Jill placed an order on 07/10 and today is 07/22 - NOTHING - multiple follow ups by Jill and Maryann and still nothing. I am not sure why it takes so long for the supplies that are urgently needed for treatment to stop infections. If it is the company Bryam then SWITCH - but this has been an issue for over a year and is very concerning. I have spent hundreds of dollars purchasing supplies that either show up months later or never show up at all. My insurance is being billed for these supplies, but they show up LATE, if treatment was held off waiting on these supplies my husband could have lost his foot from infection. Bryam has a 1.1 rating which should tell you all you need to know about this company.

Their representative rushed me through the sign-up process without any clear explanation of the services that they were going to provide. Specifically, their communication to the parties involved (Assisted Living, the attending physician, and me) was vague, ambiguous, inconsistent, and confusing at a time when job descriptions should be crystal clear. It is Care Choices' responsibility to coordinate care and especially to make sure that "their" patient is being properly attended to. Hospice services are not just to provide a hospital-style bed and a wheelchair. As a direct result of Care Choices' lack of clarity, the Hospice service was waiting for the attending physician to treat, the attending physician was waiting for Hospice to treat, and the family was waiting for the patient to receive necessary care on a prompt basis. As it was, the patient's care was overly delayed, which caused the patient medical distress and the family members completely unnecessary emotional distress.

From what I understand, when they took me on as a patient, they also took on the responsibility for ordering my medical supplies and paying for it through their budget rather than a supply company delivering them and billing Medicare directly. I don't know why it's like this, but I definitely felt the resentment for them having to use their budget to buy my supplies. And because I was so dependent on my supplies that being caught a couple days without them would cause complications and likely lend me in the ER, I asked them to send me a surplus of supplies so that I would be secure for a while and not have to worry about it, but they insisted on sending it in small amounts every week and a half, which became very stressful and I dreaded making the call to ask them to send more supplies because they really weren't happy about it and I definitely felt it in their tone of voice.
