I had Laura design a "Getting Ready" robe from my 35 year old Satin wedding dress. I also got a small clutch made from my dress as well. I gave these to my daughter at her bridal shower and she couldn't have been more excited. Everyone at the shower was amazed and thought the robe was beautiful. Laura was great to work with. I have to share my terrible experience with my sister. If I could give this terrible establishment less than one star I definitely would. My sister recently moved from Arkansas to Cleveland and I live in Louisiana. I took a 300+ dollar flight to get here and spent almost 10 hours in the air due to bad weather. We were so excited to arrive at this shop and that's when our bad luck began. We were across the road starting our morning off with coffee at Peace, Love, and Little Donuts. It took us ten minutes to find this obnoxious place because there is NO SIGN. We had to call the phone three times to get an answer for help despite being within their hours of operation and at our appointment time. Finally, we realized it is inside an actual house. Fine, we were still willing to give it a chance. A man opened the door with NO SHOES ON wearing sweat pants and an old tshirt and his two dogs running around ON THE DRESSES. This was completely unprofessional and I am a dog lover. However, he admitted one of them was a puppy and we all know how puppies can make messes. After we were brought inside, the man left and we were alone in this strange house. There were only two rooms in this house with MAYBE 20 dresses total. Also, all of the dresses were TINY. Size 0s mostly with a few Size 8 and 12. So if you're an average sized woman, forget it. My sister is a size 14 and she could fit in ONE DRESS. We spent maybe 15 minutes in this store and now we can not get into any other boutique because we thought this would be a good place to find her perfect dress. This terrible shop ruined her first dress shopping experience and honestly the level of unprofessionalism and stark lack of courtesy was astounding. Do not go here if you are a self-respecting woman or bride. Do not go here if you wish to have a pleasant experience. I will not get the time back that we wasted. read more

Just finished wedding dress shopping with my cousin. We went to David's Bridal, Pat Catan's, Leonardo's and then went to A Bride's Design. We had other places on our list for the day, but after meeting Laura and seeing her dresses, we cancelled the other appointments. Laura is amazing and so are all her designs. We loved every dress my cousin tried on. Laura was so helpful and offered just the right amount of guidance and advice. Her dress shop is adorable too!!! After months of searching for a wedding dress and coming up empty handed Laura was able to take my minimal ideas (nothing strapless, A line) and turn them into the gown of my dreams. Her attention to detail, including reworking the neckline to cover a scar that I was self-conscious about, is truly one of her hallmarks. She created my gown, my flower girl's dress and fascinators for my bridal party, all from sketches. In addition, she altered my mother's dress and my maid of honor's dress. This small, super cute boutique was by far the best bridal shop I dealt with while planning my wedding. I had purchased my dress from a different shop in Philadelphia and I was desperately looking for someone else to alter my dress. A Bride's Design came to the rescue; they did a fantastic job and worked within my short timetable. The also have some great options for accessories like jewelry and veils and the line of bridal shoes they carry are surprisingly comfortable. It's a small shop in the front of a historic Avon house (you park in the driveway) so they don't have a ton of inventory but what they have is high quality and reasonably priced. They carry a few designers as well and have their own line of dresses. They also custom-make dresses. The owner is so sweet and so helpful. I definitely recommend this place. read more

I talked with Laura over the phone before I made my appointment. She answered all my questions without judgement and did not have a problem with me sticking to my budget. She was very honest, and I was able to make an appointment with her within a couple days. Her dresses are well- designed and made (by Laura herself) with interchangeable straps and details. I picked out maybe 3 to try, and she brought be another two that I would not have noticed that totally fitted with my hippie-goddess meets art-deco style. She did not pressure me in any way and was very friendly an professional. Originally, I didn't have good luck or experiences at previous bridal shops, and was going to settle for an "OK" dress from JCrew to stay under my budget, and found this gem on a google search; I thought "why not?" Laura's designs surpassed the adequate designs I was considering at JCrew, and at a comparable price. I visited MANY other bridal shops in the Cleveland area before making my final stop at A Bride's Design. Right from the start, I could tell it was going to be a great experience! Laura, the owner, is so talented and designs beautiful dresses, and she is very flexible about modifying the designs to make them your own! She does not pressure you at all, just helps you and gives you suggestions along the way. The bridal gowns, accessories, and bridesmaids' dresses are all beautiful - I found dresses that I want for my girls and I purchased a dress for my rehearsal dinner as well! I love, love, love this boutique and the owner/designer, Laura. I visited three other bridal dress shops and at each, found one or two dresses that could work, but none that elicited the reactions I got from every single dress I tried on at A Bride's Design. I found the perfect dress and I can't hardly wait the six months it will take for the dress to arrive! I also bought a veil, sash and earrings from A Bride's Design. All beyond gorgeous. Laura gives Vera Wang a serious run for her money....she is an AMAZING designer and Ohio is so very lucky to have her!! I can't speak highly enough about A Bride's Design. Laura is amazing, she is positive, fun, she has great dresses, will give you personal attention and (gasp) she LISTENS to you! I never felt pressured to buy anything that I didn't want. And unlike all the other bridal shops I went to she didn't insist that I try on a veil when I clearly said I don't like veils. She has a great collection of dresses and even made my mother's dress for the wedding. We both absolutely loved our dresses and when everything began to get stressful planning the wedding I could always count on Laura to be on time, produce what she said she would, and be positive. I had A Bride's Design alter the wedding dress I bought at a different shop. From my very first appointment to my final fitting today, Erin and Laura were amazing!! They were very attentive, listened to and understood my concerns throughout all my fittings, and helped me pull my entire look together with the veil, hair piece, and jewelry. A close family friend recommended that we go to Laura for my wedding dress alterations and wow, I am so happy that I did! I live in Chicago so admit that I was a little nervous to have my dress altered 300 miles away. After the first round of alterations, the dress still needed a couple of minor adjustments. Laura took down all of my measurements, worked her magic, and the dress literally fit perfectly for my second and final fitting. Laura's shop is adorable and it was so fun for my mom, sister and I to look at all of the dresses and try on accessories. The dresses are unique, one-of-a-kind works of art and the best part is Laura takes her time to listen to what you want and is open to modifying any dress to fit your vision. We met with Laura, the owner, late on a Saturday afternoon to look at wedding dresses. She was very accommodating and did not pressure us into making a decision. Many of the dresses she has designed and sewn herself, which makes them one of a kind. The prices are reasonable considering the quality of dressmaking and detailing.
