If anything it's a win because the mom and baby stayed together. My issue lies solely with the agency A Baby Step Adoption. When our adoption fell through the agency rep delivered the news through a text message and followed up with how busy she was "solo-parenting" and stated she would call us later. I boiled. But said nothing. Until I couldn't take it. I texted the agent and asked if she was available to talk. The agent then texts my wife and asks her what it is I need to talk about and if it wasn't an emergency I'd have to wait until next week because she's busy with a home visit. Mind you we just drove 10 hours to find out we were not getting a baby. I'm not going to add my opinion to all this just stating facts of the story. I'm speaking from my experience with A Baby Step Adoption. I just hope you think twice before working with them. Really adoption as a whole needs to be looked at closer. We are breeding children knowing they are going to be taken away from their mothers in exchange for money. Unless that child is in immediate danger then we should leave them with their birth mothers. And to the birth mothers milking the system. You're sick. I'm disgusted in myself for taking a part in this.

Our adoption journey was neither easy nor typical. We had been working with an agency for about a…read moreyear and during that time had experienced two failed placements. Our third match came through and independent source, and the birthmother wanted the support of Haven Adoptions to guide her through the process. While this was not our agency, the staff at Haven took us under their wing and agreed to work with our agency to help process this unique situation. It was easy to see why our birthmother chose Haven to help her place her child with us. Haven provided her with great resources not only during the process, but also after placement. They also did an amazing job teaming with our agency to ensure we were supported as well- keeping us informed the whole way through. They were with all of us through the entire delivery/ placement process to make sure that our son's best interests were paramount. We felt comfort in knowing that our birthmother was being well taken care of, and appreciated all the love and support that our family received. We consider the staffs of both agencies to be his 'fairy godmothers' and helping us find our happily ever after. Post placement we send our birthmother regular updates per an agreement Haven facilitated. They have helped us foster and maintain a level of contact that met all of our needs. Their advocacy for birthmothers and focus on erasing negative stigmas around placement is both admirable and supports our beliefs as well. Our journey took us on many unexpected paths, but we believe that there was a reason behind each one. We are eternally grateful to everyone involved, including the amazing staff at Haven. Worse, these workers just do their own personal business at the clients' apartment without doing their real job (taking care of the clients), damage the property in the apartment, create hazard situation for clients to slip/fall, and create unsanitized environment. Their workers have really low quality, rude, causing lots of troubles to the surrounding neighbors including stomping, banging, throwing trash on ground rather than dumpster, ..., etc.. Do NOT send your family members to them who may get hurt by their untrained gang workers. This service taking money from the State/charging clients' families to run the parties for their workers. Horrible place!!

We had a very unique situation with our last adoption which required LH staff to work tirelessly for months to ensure they did everything they could to help our critically ill daughter home asap. Charging for things they can't keep a record of. Keep looking for another adoption agency.
