Downtown Detroit

The food was very good, and the fries were thin and pretty tasty. Their Chaos Burger sauce is delicious and definitely worth trying. The place was very clean inside, and the bathroom was also clean, though it's very narrow and tucked away in the back.

Chaos Burger arrives on the streets of Detroit with a BURGER BANG!!!…read more Being a new fast food restaurant in a world full of grab & go stops can be super challenging even for the well known and franchised establishments. What makes Chaos Burger stand out from the rest? I would have to say it's the simplicity of the menu from Burgers, Fries and Hotdogs! Yep, that's it...keep it simple and SMASH that Burger!!!! We decided to give this place a try because it's birthday month and why not make it a burger birthday week! How fun is that...hopping around the city trying a new burger each day for a week! Chaos Burger is centrally located, offers a quick order and go kiosk, or dine in option. We decided to try the Deluxe Burger because jalapeños can pack a little too much heat for my palate! The burger sauces were very tasty and the overall quality and taste of the burger was delicious! If you're hungry, I would recommend a double patty because the single is rather small due to the smash. We also really enjoyed the French fries! They were thin cut and perfectly fried! I hope to come back and try the hotdog, too! If you're in the area, this is a great spot to grab a bite!

Royale with cheese may just be Detroits hidden gem. Tucked in midtown is this restaurant! Super…read morecool right from the bat because it's all brought to life from one of the most iconic movie quotes ever, in Pulp Fiction! So there's decor from the film everywhere and the menu items are slogans and quotes from the movie, pretty cool. That being said everything does have a super cool and BOLD twist to it! We tried a lot and absolutely everything was incredible. Mac & cheese bites are super flavorful and moist, not dry like most places. Grilled cheese & tomato soup is next level and the perfect flavor combo!! The ravioli is a MUST try!!! & don't skip on the KRUNCHER SPICY BURGER (not pictured) the best thing on the menu!! Also, dont leave without trying one of their milkshakes. Super clean place, amazing service, friendly & quick, and the food is out of this world. Can't wait to go back for more!

I don't know where to begin. I'm a huge Pulp Fiction fan, so Royale with Cheese was an easy…read morestop--especially with a downpour rolling in. I had just gotten into Detroit from NJ and was debating hitting the Tigers vs. Red Sox game that night, but decided to slow it down, walk around, and grab a real meal instead of rushing it. The place sits at a 4.2 on Yelp and leans into the film's iconic line. After checking out photos, I was all-in on getting a burger--but ended up pivoting. Walking in, it's clean with a rustic vibe. On the left, two large monitors cycle through the menu (a little fast, honestly), but the QR code helps you actually read it without pressure. You order at the counter, pay, grab a number, and they bring the food to your table. Simple, smooth setup. The menu's full of character-inspired names, which is a nice touch. I went with the Royale Fries & Brisket--seasoned fries topped with 18-hour smoked brisket, smoked Gouda cheese fondue, coleslaw, and honey-ancho BBQ sauce. Good move, especially since I wasn't in the mood for a bun. The brisket had great flavor but could've been a bit more generous. The fries, though, carried. They had that curly-fry-style seasoning (even if they didn't fully commit to the curl), and the combo of BBQ, slaw, and Gouda worked. I'd come back just for that. I was ready to skip dessert... until I saw people walking out with shakes. Not a huge selection, but cereal-inspired flavors--CEREAL. I got the Cinnamon Toast Crunch shake. Easy recommendation. On the way out, I grabbed a s'mores cookie and saved it for later that night. Soft, gooey center, marshmallow, Hershey's chocolate in the middle, and a full graham cracker on the bottom. I've had s'mores cookies in NYC and back home in NJ--this one hit. Really good. Staff was friendly and easygoing. Quick story: there's a sign telling you not to touch the cookies because the marshmallow sticks to the wrapper. I asked about it, got the explanation... and still did it anyway. Ended up scraping (and yeah, licking) it off. Zero regrets. Shoutout to the chefs, owners, and staff. Solid 4 stars--great food overall, but could use a little more brisket and the theme doesn't go quite as far as it could.
