The lady working the drive through was rude and wouldn't let me pay for my food or even get my food at all

Stopped here on the way home from Door County. As far as fast food this is one of my favorites. We don't have A&W by us so it was a treat. There is still table service and you press the button at your table and the waitress comes over and takes your order on an iPad. All the food was fresh and of course we each got a delicious root beer on tap. The service was quick and the employees were so friendly! Would go back read more

Was in Manitowoc A&W. THE Worst ever. I sat down and looked at the menu. I had to ring foe service twice. No employee said hello to me. The person that took my order was SITTING OUTSIDE VISITING WITH HIS COWORKERS. There was another couple there. He to their order then took mine. The couples food came up first. He served them and whe he passed me said my food will be right up. THEN HE WENT OUTSIDE TO VISIT WITH COWORKERS. The 1 brought my food went outside too. Food was just ok. I thought they could have dressed a little better. It looked like the 1 that took my order just crawled out of bed. I was there today right after 4 pm. Our order came out correctly and quickly via drive-through. We had several cheeseburger and fries combo meals for a group and also a kid's meal. The prices are expected for fast food and the service was friendly and fast. Good root beer! read more

Cold food. Unapologetic. Horrible service. Slow service. It was late and after the game. They said they were slammed but had only two table inside. Maybe add enough staff to accommodate postgame traffic. Hard pass. read more

A-OK, A&W! Stopped on our way through town, and A&W is still serving up tasty meals and taking cleanliness and social distancing seriously. The bathrooms were open but only outdoor dining was open, with picnic tables also an option across the parking lot. Our server was new, but getting training and was great! Onion rings were tasty, as was the bacon cheeseburger, my girlfriend's chicken sandwich got high marks, and the rootbeer was solid (although I miss not having it served in a frosty glass mug). Music from the 50's and 60's cranks, and dining at A&W is like stepping back in time. read more

I haven't been to A&W in years. The food is the same, the premise is different....no more car hops. Ordered inside, and then you can either take it to your tables inside or take it to the outside picnic tables. Root beer still taste the same! Brings back memories. Prices of went up a little bit, but our economy holds control over that. Restaurant was very clean, and staff was very professional and courteous. Sign of good management. read more

I went through the A&W drive-thru, which was my first time going to an A&W in years. I was very impressed!! I got the cheese curds which were very cheesey and tasted very fresh! I dipped them in their buttermilk ranch; I wish I could have this ranch everyday!! I would recommend it on chicken or another item as well. I got a root beer, which is even better than the bottle. The team seemed to do a great job at wearing masks and being careful. All the workers were very friendly, which was a nice change from normal works. I'll be back! read more

Got a couple quick burgers and cheese curds on the way up north for the packer game. Food was good. However, the guy in the drive through is what made our experience awesome. Guy was hilarious and gave us extra ranch. Will be back purely for this guy. read more

I am always impressed when a company cares enough about people with mental disabilities that they give them a job. The food was absolutely terrible but what will make me come back is the wonderful young lady who took my order. This young lady has some challenges but did her best. Good job A&W!! read more

Looking for fast food? Keep driving. Perhaps in a plot to get tips, the staff here direct you to a table and come out to take your order...eventually. Then the food comes....15 minutes later. When you try to pay at any point in this process, no dice. Our "server" literally handed back our credit card and said "I'll come back for this." 15 more minutes...still nothing. I finally went in and demanded to pay--we would still be sitting there if I hadn't. Burn it down and start over, A&W. You're supposed to be fast food, not a poor imitation of a sit-down restaurant. The A&W chicken tenders are the BEST fast food chicken tenders!! While they feel to be a bit more expensive for 3 tenders than other places, they are worth it for the freshness. I dip them in the Papa Sauce, which is sort of spicy and a great balance to the chicken. I always get their root beer as well. It's better from the restaurant than in a bottle; very creamy and hints of vanilla. We stopped at the drive-thru, and even though the line looked long, it moved very quickly. I defiantly recommend stopping on your next road trip!! read more

Too much salt on food.the cheese curds I had were extra salty and the cheeseburger was too salty as well.

We ate in and the food was good. The service was attentive. The problem came when the bill was almost twice what it should have been. We ordered 2 $5 combos and a $2 papa burger, sounds like $12. The said it was $23. I said to try again and they came back with $16. Still too high. The third time they got it right. The first time is a mistake (maybe), the second time starts sending alarms. We didn't order anything special, or even alter anything. It causes me a lot of stress to correct situations like this. So probably not going back. read more

This place is a throw back to the 60s. They still have car hops and individual menu boards with speakers. Inside the décor is vintage A&W. The wall hangings are representations of classic automobiles. The booths have buttons to signal the server when you're ready to order. The only thing missing is the old wall mounted juke box at each booth. The music comes from speakers in the ceiling that play 50s and 60s oldies. The only TV in the dining room shows A&W specialties and other A&W advertisements. I only had a classic root beer float. It was the same delicious float I have enjoyed from A&W since I was a kid. The quality never changes at any store I go. This one is no exception. Fast food chains will only get a 3 star max in my rating system because the food is mostly mass produced in a factory somewhere then distributed frozen to the store. So this is as good as it gets for a chain store. read more

Stopped later on a Sunday as we got back to town. Boy were they busy!! We went inside to order our food to go. We got our root beer floats but needed to wait for our burgers and fries. It took a bit which was understandable. As we were handed our food we were told to hang on because they were going to give us gift certificates due to the wait. Very nice!! When we got home we were disappointed in how soggy the fries were and how cold the burgers were. We don't live that far from the restaurant and this has never happened before when we ordered. If it wasn't for getting the gift certificates my star rating would have certainly been lower. read more

very good Cheese curds and chicken tenders. Have not tried their burgers in years but the curds and tenders are very good and tasty.

They don't have chocolate or twist ice cream which I found odd. It's vanilla or root beer.

I was waitressed by a woman named Molly and recieved horrible service. Not only did she mess up my bill but she also brought out my cookie dough polar swirl with no cookie dough. read more
