A&W Rootbeer is so good when you get it straight from their restaurant versus from the bottle or can! They claim it's made on site and I totally believe them. I've now had it at two different locations and it's consistent. It honestly tastes like it has half the sugar of regular soda for some reason. They have a 2 for $6.50 deal and you can mix and match from the listed items like root beer float, chili cheese fries, burgers, hot dog, etc. ROOT BEER FLOAT: Ok you'd think this would just be a super sugary drink but it was awesome! The soft serve had a nice vanilla flavor and well, you know how I feel about the rootbeer. Recommend! CHILI CHEESE FRIES: Perfectly crispy fries and the chili wasn't salty like I expected. The owners don't care about their staff. They refuse to have a stool or chair in building so the staff have to be standing their entire shift and their feet are killing them by end of day. The worst is that the staff have to work in extreme heat because they don't have air conditioning or even a fan. The Hollister heat in a confined space while making hamburgers on a stove makes the staff want to faint from heat stroke! Owners don't care. read more

This place is amazing. It's a must stop. I grew up with an independently owned A&E in my home town that had car hop service. It no longer exists in my home town but when I see other A&Ws around I stop and you should too. The building is original and the service is great. But the food is AMAZING!! I ordered the papas burger , a root beer float and onion rings and fries. I will go back for sure... and I only was driving through the area. We had a detour and that's why I found it, by accident. This place brings back childhood memories when my mother would take my sister and I to eat after coming back from Salinas, where she worked. This was around 1983-84 and I recall a music/record store next door back then. Ordered a burger without Mayo through door dash since the person eating it has an egg allergy. Dasher even double checked there was no egg but it seems they were lied too. Some the burger arrived with Mayo on it. That's flagrantly dangerous. Do not order if you have a food allergy from these guys. Comparing burger to the best fast one = In-N-Out, shredded lettuce just does not cut it compared to whole leaf iceberg; burger meat paddy itself was thin & tasteless, like most fast food burgers. So; walk up with coupon in hand for whatever and its a roll of the dice if they will honor it.
