(A particularly fond memory is sitting in the car with my brother after we had ordered through the car hop service at the former Granville House, listening to Dr. Bundolo's Pandemonium Medicine Show on CBC, and seeing the tray swaying up and down because we were laughing so hard the car was shaking.) That is, until I moved to Ontario, because White Spot is a B.C.-only kind of place. Since then, they have spun out Triple O's. You can find them in Alberta, Ontario, and even Hong Kong. Triple O's is a kind of mini-White Spot, but it's actually sort of the "best of" from the White Spot I remember: burgers, fish and chips, and shakes (minus the "Chicken Pick'ns", which, sadly, have also disappeared from White Spot's menu). White Spot still offers those dishes, plus a bunch of more upscale fare, and dining at White Spot is no longer affordable. Now, it's the kind of place you go for special occasions (unless money is no object). And, sadly, Triple O's is also at the top end of pricing for fast food joints. But still, for this homesick B.C. boy, chowing down on a Legendary burger took me back. It's still as good as I remember. But, to be fair to those who didn't grow up with White Spot, it may just come across as good, but overpriced.

For a change up we decided to get the turkey with stuffing burger. What we got was a note scrawled on the container they were out of the stuffing for it. We got a mediocre frozen turkey patty with gravy and bacon and a soggy awful mess. I'm calling them tomorrow to get a refund or a comp for next time because this was truly a disaster and just plain gross. The only thing any good were the sweet potatoes fries, I always order them and the best I've ever had from a restaurant. But tonight will be a pepto bismol night. Just terrible and a waste of 50.00 plus taxes and delivery.

It just looked like your typical deep fried chicken sandwich except it tasted like the fish sandwich because they probably use the same oil to fry it in. The chicken was a little rubbery. I dont know if thats from undercooking or buying it from walmart but it was less than enjoyable. Anyone who wants a good Nashville Hot should be eating or taking lessons from Christos in Sarnia. I ended up ordering the Mozza burger meal with fries and (of course) an A&W root beer. The burger wasn't bad at all, but then again, for the price point of CAD$ 5.70 it better have been good! The fries were thick-cut and weren't bad either. As for the root beer, it was damn good, just like your typical good ol' A&W root beer. Although my girlfriend didn't think much of the food, I've had worse. It wasn't great, but it wasn't bad fast food either. The location was a bit sad looking since there were no other customers but us and worst of all the service wasn't even good despite the fact there were no other customers that they were serving. Oh ... and yes there's free wifi.

At first glance, it looks like a basic ice cream shop that also happens to have a kiosk where you can order burgers, hot dogs, and fries. We figured it would be a quick, decent lunch before heading back to the falls. Instead, we got the tastiest surprise. These burgers came out hot, fresh, and perfectly smashed with those crispy, caramelized edges that make smash burgers so addictive. Then came the real MVP: the spicy Flip Sauce. I would happily put that stuff on just about anything. The rest of the family stuck with the regular Flip Sauce and promptly started dunking their fries in it like it was liquid gold. Speaking of fries, one order was plenty for our family to share--which left more room for ice cream. Because yes... they have ice cream too. Naturally, we had to "sample" it for quality control, and it was the perfect ending to lunch. My only tiny complaint? Bottled sodas instead of fountain drinks. That's it. That's the list. The owner came over and mentioned that the sauce for Yang Nyum burger is his own recipe which tasted good, but it's not the traditional Korean sweet and spicy flavour, though it had great heat to it. The chicken itself was hand beated which made it taste tender, but oh man, the fries were so crispy and addicting. The chicken wings were quite large and battered well. Definitely very saucy which I like, but did taste a bit saltier than I like. Service was super friendly and the food was brought to us. We elected for take out as we knew we weren't going to finish. The owner came over a few times to ask us how the food was and we had a nice conversation. Overall I really enjoyed the food and the place was comfortable to dine in.
