My girlfriend and I visited this place a few months ago, and we absolutely refuse to to return to any of their locations, because the food was not up to par, and the service was terrible, the staff were not friendly whatsoever, and the food portions were small, which didn't reflect the price ! My girlfriend and I were extremely disappointed and as a result, we've decided to boycott this establishment, in comparison, Wendy's is by far a much better place to go to, their much friendlier and their food portions are much better Therefore I absolutely do not recommend for anyone to eat at A&W !!! read more

Went here for lunch and found the staff friendly and quick! We ordered the new 56 Buddy Burger that had lettuce, tomato, grilled onions, and thousand island sauce, though the burger patty was too thin. It lacked sufficient burger taste. We also ordered the classic Mozza Burgers and they were made perfectly with nice slices of bacon and a good amount of seasoning. read more

it's been a while since I been to A&W me and my friend Sam after a good workout at the gym decided to come over here for breakfast. We had the all Canadian special combo, was fantastic lots of tomatoes eggs were perfect. The bacon and the sausage were perfect no grease. We totally enjoyed an amazing breakfast. I highly recommend them. Especially after a good workout at the gym and you can modify your breakfast. That's what I like the best. read more

I have been impressed with A&W's reinvention of itself, and this location follows the general trend: the food is definitely better than I remember as a kid, or even from about 20 years ago. I don't know that I would rank it as my favourite fast food joint, as does a friend of mine (whose initials just happen to be A.W...), but it has definitely moved up my list of preferences. Alas, there were a couple of downsides to our visit here. My sweetie did not like the gravy in her poutine at all. She said it tasted weird, and if there were some way to eat just the fries and the cheese without the gravy, she would have done so. (Sorry, A&W, but I think you need to take this one back into the test kitchen.) My mistake was ordering the apple pie. Structurally, it's pretty much the same as the "pies" that many fast food joints sell (although I have always considered them more like turnovers than pies), but A&W dusts the outside with sugar and cinnamon. That does make them tastier, but for people who are trying to avoid carbs (either because they're diabetic or because they need to lose weight), the extra sugar pushes the pies from being a questionable choice to being a very poor choice. I must remember not to make that mistake again. (It did strike me as kind of an odd choice, since the "new" A&W is very much pushing things like fresh, healthy ingredients, and will let you order any burger wrapped in lettuce instead of in a bun. Some kind of less sugary dessert option would seem to be more in keeping with that general theme.) As for Covid-19 steps, the drive-through was doing a land-office business. You could go inside to order, but the setup was a little confusing. The side door is locked, so you can't have a path in one door and out the other (as I have seen at other fast food joints). Most of the tables have been put away (not just marked off), which is actually a pretty good idea for businesses which can stash the tables somewhere. (Possibly, they stashed the extra tables in the washrooms, since those were locked off.) There were some tables left (with numbers on them, for some reason), but we weren't sure whether they'd allow us to eat inside, since ALL of the chairs were also stashed away. So we took our food outside and ate at one of the tables there. read more

Mmm...delicious. I had a double Mozza burger that was fresh and tasty. My dining companions had an Uncle burger and it too was awesome. The service was excellent as well. As they brought our drinks and food right to our table. Not the usual fast food place!!! And gotta love the frosty mugs for the A&W root beer. A good call any night for a good burger. read more

The cute reviewer before me said it right: It's a new A&W location with some growing pains. The food tastes the same as any other A&Ws (aka super delicious) but they just need to get in the groove. Service was a little slow and they forgot to give us spicy mayo for our sweet potato fries. There were some other things too, like they didn't serve us the fries in the cool "for here" containers and forgot to give us napkins with our meal. The restaurant itself though was clean inside. You can tell it's a new location. I would come here again because I love A&Ws; however, I hope that they get up to speed. 2.5 stars for now, but could increase to 3 (the standard for fast-food franchises) read more

Staff must have been told by management to make small talk with customers. Unfortunately the staff still needs to work on the small talk, and from a customer's perspective. I could do without it. I went to the drive thru, the woman there said she hadn't seen me in awhile. I jokingly replied, I am trying to be good and not eat as much fast food. Or at least i tried to say that, after the "trying to be good" part she cut me off.. No biggie, she must be taking a other order thru the headset. She opened the window handed me my food, and very quickly said, "Thank you for coming to A&W have a nice day" then quickly shut the window. She should have added, "don't let the door hit you on the way out". Tip to management. If I am getting Fast Food from a drive thru, I am not going there for small talk. I just want food. read more

Amazing customer service here. I have a complex order (thanks to oldest child and wife), and they got everything on it correctly. We went to eat, and the manager saw us and asked how everything was. My oldest, so excited, screamed, "AWESOME!!!". The manager said that his day was made with that reaction, and gave both our kids a free prize. Thank you! read more

We went here after looking at houses nearby when we were first considering moving to the Niagara Region from Toronto a few years ago. This was probably one of the reasons we actually DID move to the area, in retrospect. The wife and I just looked at each other in amazement over how incredible the burgers and sides were. I believe I had the Uncle with Cheddar and Bacon, and she probably had the same. I should have taken pictures of them - the burgers were PACKED with their requisite toppings, the bacon was REAL THICK-CUT strips, and the burger was one of the juiciest I've ever had the distinct pleasure of consuming. I hadn't had an A&W burger in years; you can bet I've had several since. There are closer A&Ws to us since we settled in St. Catharines rather than the Falls, but every time we're in the area, we go to this location because it's actually a bit better than the others. Also, friendly service and they brought everything to our table with a smile. Supreme kudos! read more

A brand new A&W's with some growing pains. Only because we're hard core A and Dubs fans did we notice things were missing (spicy mayo for our sweet potato fries, seasoning salt, etc). It was impossibly slow, the floor was slippery, and the food was lack-lustre. I'm sure they'll get better, they're just new. The girl on cash was definitely being trained. Maybe it was her first day. Nice little A&W spot, conveniently located near a highway exit. It was a little dirty last time I was there, but usually, it is pretty clean. There is plenty of parking here. Food comes relatively quickly and tastes pretty good. read more

Uhh it's an A&W, not a 5 star resto, with that said comparing it to other fast food joints, it's pretty high class eh! I mean they bring out your food, free refills of great root beer and it's fresh cooked. Try the breakfast- unbeatable. This location always has a deal! read more

We stopped here for supper on our way home from the USA. Of course, the root beer is always ice cold, very good and a big serving in the mug. I had the Uncle Burger with onion rings and it was all very good. I particularly like the coating on the onion rings. A & W is a reliable, consistent place to stop. read more
