This A&W location is not at the main mall level, but at street level beside the bus loop. Prime location for those who want to grab a bite to eat before/after their bus trip. The odd location may make it feel like a "dive", but it felt anything but. The interior was very nice and clean, garbage emptied out regularly. Secret (not so secret?) hidden location inside the bus loop by New Westminster SkyTrain station. This location is not in the elevated shopping area by the trains, but rather at ground level. Best to access via Canarvon or Columbia. Parking is available on the side streets. The location is a bit dumpy, but I imagine this place gets a pile of traffic. There were some sketchy looking people loitering in the vicinity, but this is somewhat "normal" for transit hubs. As of the time of writing, there is some promotion for a series of mushroom mozzarella (Mama, Buddy, Uncle) burgers. I tried the buddy. To be honest this thing isn't very good at all. I thought it tasted like rubber. Not recommended. I'm sure their other stuff is decent and in line with the other locations. But seriously, skip the mozzarella mushroom stuff. read more

Service: Prompt, I was only customer needing any. Attitude of server: looked like she couldn't care less. I attempted to be cheerful and jovial. Told her to keep the change and she didn't say "thank you". Condition of public area of premises: dirty floor and doors. Food: teen burger meat was unidentifiable. Was staying across the street so this a very convenient quick stop. However just like many fast food chains, the menu always looks a lot better than the food you actually receive. I had breakfast here and dinner. The pancakes were not bad, I wish it came with sausage or they had a combo, I had to get the hash brown separate. There is also no coffee bar at this location. The poutine was pretty soggy and definitely not worth it. The hot dog also was not great, the cheese and bun were both kinda hard and not enjoyable. Each time I came the service was fast and friendly though. The dining room wasn't as clean as one might desire, but it wasn't the worst, especially given the proximity to the train station I was expecting much worse. It is a typical A&W fast food joint. I am here often only because of its convenient location to the New Westminster skytrain station and bus loop. It makes for an easy stop to grab breakfast or a burger. The place is clean, and the service is so-so. Nothing over the top. Not sure about the washroom though I see signs indicating it is not working frequently. It can get crowded on weekends or evenings though, or when it is very cold and people want to seek warmth while waiting for the bus. The food is usually made on the spot so you do not get soggy and cold hash brown or onion rings. That is a plus. read more

The new Buddy burger with cheese and sauteed onions hits the spot with me. And I like A&W cause they are not shy with the mustard. But the best part was the self scan, because lets face it. I had such a wonderful experience today at this location. The staff was cleaning thoroughly when I walked in and everything was incredible spotless, it really brought me peace of mind, especially during the ongoing pandemic. They made my food quickly and it was delicious, hot, and fresh. They were so kind when I was ordering, brought the food to my table for me, and even checked to see how I was liking everything. Went here a couple of days ago... what a disgustingly filthy place, I literally felt sick and thought for sure I would get sick.... I got greeted by a Filipino guy ( I believe) anyways ofAsian decent, he was very rude ... threw my change on the the sugar ladened with spilled pop counter....I didn't even want to pick it up... he immediately went and washed his hands as though I had a disease, I've been to this place a few times before , and normally it's clean and the employees are polite. But that day they were rude and disgustingly filthy, it's not like they were busy.... The were papers strewn on the floor . Thank goodness I didn't eat there , everything was filthy... This was my second time here and ended up being worse than the first. My son and I stopped here for a bite to eat before finishing off a bit of shopping. I should have gone by my gut instinct when we entered the place but it was Christmas evening and close to the Skytrain. The place was dirty (again) tables had left over food on them sticky floor and the place you get your condiments was covered in spilled pop and ketchup. After we got our order we sat down at a table that I had to wipe down and started to eat. The food was ok, fries were cold but the company was dreadful. There was a drunk guy sitting at one of the tables drinking beer that got up and staggered over to a young man sitting at a table beside us and started eating his food and babbling on. My son went and said something about it to the employee as it was becoming very uncomfortable trying to eat. A female supervisor came over to our table and started pointing to the drunk guy and asked us if he was the one causing the problem. Nice going lady now he became aware that we had said something and we were going to be his next target. A security guard came in and sat down trying to talk to him which now made him angry. Needless to say we left most of our food and left before anything could escalate. The guy already left that had his food eaten. This was not handled well but judging by the mess in this A&W and the reaction we got you could tell that this is their normal. read more

The sweet potato fries is so good but so overpriced, i expect a bigger serving for 4$. Staff is super nice and friendly, which to be honest i didn't expect at all coming to a fast food restaurant. They've been giving out lots of coupons. The Self-serve system is a big plus. read more

So I just really needed a napkin and happen to be near A&W and I just walked out of Tim Horton's. Common sense depicts you go in A&W and grab a napkin then continue waiting in line for the 106 bus. I do so and while grabbing some napkins and ohh, one thinga-ling of ketchup I can here the cashier holler "helloo" but you know I'm just doing my thing, minding my own business getting what I need and she continues hollering and in hopes of ignoring her she could at least take a hint that I'm clearly not going to order something lol but damn...once I made eye contact with her she is all heated saying "WALK BACK TO TIM HORTONS AND GET WHAT YOU NEED, THIS IS NOT A FREE PLACE!!!" I just smirked and left. Now back to my thoughts... First, you have costumer's and don't holler your lungs out. Second, learn how to treat anyone with decency... Makes you guys look bad. And third... I agree that this was horrible service. I have been here twice just cause i NEEDED to due to a late night after a party, however, it's always been a struggle to communicate with the person behind the counter. I eat here all the time and it's always good. They always have those coupons too so there's almost always a discount at any given time. I like that I can have a full bacon and eggs breakfast there and it'll be ready in 5 minutes. A much better breakfast than any McDonalds can offer. I only have 1 complaint - that they don't have chubby chicken! What the heck!? That's something that A&W is known for. It's like a Burger King that doesn't sell whoppers or a movie theatre that doesn't sell popcorn. Oh well. Still an awesome establishment and the manager Chris is cool. read more

My bf and I go to this one all the time. The staff are always friendly and never mess up our orders, which can be large with various items at times. Even when busy, the service is good with reasonable times. I went to McD's for the first time in a while and of course they f*cked up a really simple order, which has only endeared me more to this location tbh. read more
