About the worst ran place I've ever been to. Only a few customers but everyone waited half an hour and most of the orders were wrong.

The burgers are fresh. They have drive through and inside the Bridge Market. Clean bathrooms and state of the art wash sinks.

Servers are very friendly and it's what you'd expect from a normal old school Coney Island establishment nothing too fancy, a nice spot for a quick bite!

The burger patty itself was good I had crispy edges like you expect from an old school diner. But they were very small and very thin like a smashburger. The fries were completely dead they had absolutely no flavor. There's plenty of seating but the place hasn't been updated in 100 years the seats are taped together everything looks dingy. My waitress smelled like cigarettes. Just not impressed. I used to go there when I was young and drunk in the middle of the night maybe I romanticized how good Starlite is. Or maybe it's just changed over time. They do have a big parking lot and the right next to a gas station so if you need some odds and ends and they have a drive-thru which are all nice. For three hamburgers three drinks some mozzarella sticks our bill was $60 which is expensive for a diner. If I'm in the area maybe I'll stop in but I definitely won't be making a special trip.

I have lived in the Flint area my entire life. I was raised in Southern Flint, and live in Grand…read moreBlanc currently. The entire time, I passed by The Palace again and again. I always went to the cheap Chinese place next to it, with their mediocre food and cheap prices. Other restaurants in the Food Court of the Valley mall have come and gone. Just today, after done at the gym, I noticed that The Palace, the pizza buffet thing, and the two Chinese places (which have the exact same food and the exact same prices and I'm certain make use of the same kitchen) were the only ones up and running. The Philly Cheese steak restaurant is gone and so is Subway and so is whatever the hell was on the end, far away from the others. I'm pretty sure it was a Soul Food shack. I never ate their food. So, on a whim, I decided to finally try The Palace. The menu reminded me of all the typical coney islands and diners around Flint: sandwiches, burgers, coney dogs...and gyros. I've had a gyro* from Arby's before and thought it was pretty decent. I think I may have had a gyro before from a different Greek coney island, but if I did, it didn't make much of an impression on me. At the Palace, the total is 9 bucks or whatever and I'm thinking to myself "Well...if it isn't good, then I only spent 9 bucks." I sit down and start nibbling. I'm a grazer and I don't eat a lot in one sitting. Before I know it, I've almost finished the gyro. The pita bread is nice and firm, the meat is delicious and the sauce is tangy and sweet and compliments the meat well. The fries, however, are typical fries. Fries are always good. Fries are my favorite food. You REALLY have to make some bland-ass fries for me to not eat them (Tia Helita's anyone?). Here the fries are decent but nothing special and have no interesting seasonings or flavors going on for them. *Mediterranean taco is truly a better word for Arby's "gyros" which are absolutely awful in comparison to the sandwich I just had at The Palace.

The Cheese Curds (which should be called cheese cubes) were yummy and had great cheese pull. Our cashier (I wish I would have gotten his name) was warm and friendly. I wish every worker in the restaurant was like him. The Bad: Becky, our waitress. She had such a sour personality. When we ordered a kid drink (which is stated on the menu) she looked at me like I had 2 heads before saying "oh, a small drink." Kid drinks are literally listed on the menu. When the food was brought out, my husband tried to help by grabbing the plate, instead she moaned at him to move his phone (our daughter doesn't talk and communicates through text, which is why it was out). Becky would drop off refills without saying a word. She never bothered to offer us dessert, which we were going to get. My husband and I have 30 years combined experience working in the tourism/hospitality industry, and this is just uncool. I will also mentioned that my daughter ordered a Meatball sub since meatballs are her favorite food. She told us they were chewy, and not very good. We left conflicted. For the most part, the food was excellent, but they should be ashamed of Becky.
