Note: Only Drive-Thru is open during COVID Zero stars if possible. I didn't realise that only the drive-thru was open, so I park, pull on the doors, and see the signs. I return to my car and proceed to go through the drive-thru. While ordering, I noticed the same Ryder truck was still parked at the pick-up window. So I asked whether or not the truck was gonna move. (Thinking: Was it broken down? Were they just friends chit-chatting? Was there something wrong with their order? It was there when I tried the doors and it was still there as I'm placing my order. And obviously, I'm blocked in as the drive-thru is 1-way.) After watching those A&W Beyond Meat Burger commercials that always seem to be on TV, we decided to try one. We went to the A&W at the corner of Mavis and Central Parkway. As the restaurant itself is a large chain it is about what you would expect. So, given that you know what you are going to expect from this restaurant, this review is going to be more about the Beyond Meat Burger and not about the restaurant experience. The patty in the Beyond Meat Burger really didn't taste exactly like meat and it did have a grainy texture and a bean like after taste. The toppings were very basic with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, ketchup, mustard and mayo. They give a lot of pickles and I think this is because they are trying to mask the taste of the Beyond Meat Burger a bit. Overall it is the best vegetarian burger I have had but doesn't taste like a beef burger like the commercials allude. Also, the price of the Beyond Meat burger is much too high for what you get. I would not order this again, but I would return for the other offerings like the Teen Burger, Root Beer, and Onion Rings. read more

I had originally written quite a long review because of a negative experience I had here. I also had planned not to return. However, I came at a different time of day and had an awesome experience with much nicer staff and it's been my go-to for a while now. It's always quite fast and generally they have awesome staff with the exceptions, but that's the same as almost anywhere. I have had the worst experiences with this particular A&W location. Just started working for company right next A&W on Mavis Road and Central Parkway in Mississauga. The customer service is so horrible and unacceptable. I waited on several occasion for more than 15 minutes after ordering a breakfast combo, and sometime even longer, inside the restaurant. The other time, l had a meeting to go so eventually had to abundant my food even after paying for it. This is not the first time. If it takes me 10 mannites just to get a coffee, then that's a problem. You see only one person at the counter and and rest are relaxing eating of chatting with one another. A&W has been my favorite but I have to think twice (not anymore). Someone has to fix this. If you're the manager of this location, please look into this and make the necessary changes, as required. My family and I frequent this establishment at least once a month because we used to dine here as kids and of course the coupons are hard to pass! I don't really have any problem with their food nor its quality, rather its their staff. I think they take the cake on LAZY and here's why: Whenever I come to this place after 7pm, the washrooms are ALWAYS, always closed for "cleaning" *see pic. I can't even go and wash my hands after touching money! I finally asked the lady mopping and all she said is that "its broken" then I said I just need to wash my hands and she said its "broken" then I said "fine, i'll just use the toilet" then she said that was "broken too" Somehow I find that hard to believe. I've been to this location handful of times and I believe I've only gone to the washroom ONCE in the day time. One night my husband and I came in 30 min before closing and they gave us really nasty stares. I apologized and asked if they were closing (knowing full well there was 30 mins left) they said yeah they were without apologizing. So we didn't argue and just left, we didn't want a loogey in our burgers after all. I would have understood if it was 5, or even10 mins before closing but 30!? Unacceptable, they aso turned down a family after us. Their ketchup pump is always empty, they love to just give out the packets so when we run out, we are forced to go and line up instead of just going to the station and pumping ourselves. How lazy are they to wipe or even replace the ketchup dispenser?!?! My dad enjoys tagging along when we go A&W at times and he loves to order their rootbeer float. We were sadly disappointed that we were given take out cups for our regular drinks and rootbeer float when we decided to DINE-IN. ALL other locations I've been to, they always give you the glass when you dine in! So why not here? because the employees are too lazy to wash the old fashion glass! Its like buying a jewelry atTiffany's and skipping out on their famous blue box! (sorry couldn't think of a better comparison) They also only use one garbage bin instead of two or more. I mean what's another garbage bag? It was so full one time, that the hinge wouldn't close and you can smell the garbage while you ate. The employees also can't handle sudden crowd surge. Its always so slow. They seem to take care of drive through orders first. I watched my food sit under a heat lamp for 15 minutes because the employees don't know how to multi task. Its sad to say that this has been happening for a while now. Every time I go there it just gets worse and worse that I finally decided to take pictures and write this complaint. This location has nothing readily available like other locations. No mugs, no ketchup dispensers, no washroom facilities, and closes earlier than normal operating hours!! Saw them in action when we were eating and they were closing in about 15 mins. They started mopping the floor right beside us and were told that they were closing. We ended up packing our half eaten food and eating it in the parking lot. 2 mins later, we saw them locking up. I used to work in the industry and we usually have to stay 30-1hr after service to clean up, but I guess they don't really have anything to clean. They just pick up and go. I'd like to meet the manager of this establishment and ask why he's letting this happen. Does he know or is he just turning a blind eye? Its a shame this place is really close to my place. Lately, we've been making the extra 10 min drive to their Heartland location and have not had any problems. This location needs to clean up their act. read more

This is the second time I come here for a bad breakfast Cold eggs and a dirty coffee mug. Nasty , the service is always bad,in this location . Under staffed and management seems to be wiping the staff. If you use a coupon for a meal and ask for a water as part of your meal they say they ran out of water. Ordered teen burger combo and a spicy chicken wrap in drive thru, asked to park out back as they were busy. 35 minutes later and still no order. Unable to enter restaurant to find our where our food was. Finally found a staff member who said he would look into our order. It must be a very special and complex order to make: its a burger and a chicken wrap. Finally it came out after waiting 41 minutes nd they forgot the drink. The staff offered free fries and a free drink. Uhm no thanks. We go to this A&W drive thru often and have never had this issue before. read more

More of a 3.5. Its a favourite joint for my family. We love the ambience and the way they bring to you the sweet porato fries / onion rings in a cute miniature silver frier .They serve hormone free chicken and beef which explains why they are a tad pricy over other similar joints. I also love their buddy burgers . The root beer is special and I personally like it. read more

Headline: Umm....it's A&W but they have the cutest basket to put their fries and hash browns in. Came here for breakfast the other day before heading out for the day and had eggs, bacon, hash brown, toast and coffee for under $7. That's a decent deal in my books. Eggs are cracked fresh and the hash browns come in the coolest little basket - love it. Don't know why, but I do lol. What I like - cheap breakfast, they bring it to your table and coffee has improved from before. Dislike: umm..the parking lot is too far from the main entrance. Great customer service!!!! Unfortunately due to covid-19 only drive thru is open. I ordered a chubby chicken combo with fries + root beer within 5 mins my order was ready. The food was hot, fresh, real chicken, tender, tasted so good!! Yummy!!! One of the best chicken burgers that I've had compared to the rest of the competition. 100% chicken breast without the use of antibiotics, I'm extremely satisfied, continue to return back as a regular customer. Great experience! Delicious burgers & onion rings!! mmmm I love (and hope it's true) that their animals are fed well - with no antibiotics, or pumped with steroids. Food was ok, somehow managed to be cold even tho we ate in. Service was slow. Cashier missed my onion rings, so I didn't get charged for a combo. When I went up to complain, she only asked if still wanted onion rings. So was charged separately for my meal, not combo price even tho she messed up. I'm surprised that this location has a negative review! I come here all the time and at various times of the day and I have only experienced positive service from here. I love their breakfast, they always and I mean allllways makes my breakfast just the way I like it. The servers usually let us have a seat while the food is being prepared and then bring it to our table with extra napkins or utensils and of course a smile. Whenever I come during lunch, the servers are more than happy to hand me a coupon or let me know what their specials are. I can ask for extra pickles and that is exactly what i will get. I've been coming for about 3 years now and have yet to experience a bad situation with the staff. Maybe the previous poster has a bad rep with the employees or something because I am REALLY shocked to hear that the someone had a bad experience at this location. I have also come during dinner and while I do have to agree that service is a bit slower, it is definitely not horrible or anything. I enjoy eating in a clean environment. I too work in the food service industry so I can really appreciate the upkeep of this location. Also, anyone who is a works knows that once your work day is done, you would like to leave ASAP.... I highly doubt a fast food chain would want their employees staying up to 1 hr past their shift. The little things like only having one garbage bin or the ketchup packets or the glass situation seem a bit exaggerated to me. There is always a container filled with ketchup packets where the pump sits... I have never had to go and wait in the line up again to ask for another packet NOR have I ever experienced the garbage bin being so filled up that the hinge would not close. On the occasion that I choose to dine-in, I have noticed that once it is closer to closing, the employees will lean towards using paper cups rather than the mugs but a simple request for them is all you need to get them. As for the washrooms... I do have to agree that they seem to be "closed" past 8pm but most of the time, I just ask if theyre done cleaning and the girl will go check and let me go if they are. I have noticed that they close inside half an hour before drive thru is closed so maybe that was the problem the other reviewer had but I am seriously, and I mean seriously shocked to read the last review.
