There are three rooms of "treasures" and some of them were still in plastic bins and the owner told me I could look through any of them! Talk about a fun treasure hunt. He came out and said he didn't open until 1PM. I did see that on the big sign by the street. The sign said 1-7 PM We said we would come back later. We left our event to go back later in the day. We arrived at 5PM. It was closed. We hung around a bit to see if he would open up the shop for us. His car was still there, as it had been in the morning. I wasted 40 minutes, going out of my way, and wasted gas. I think when he saw our out of state plates, he could have opened up at 11, to let us take a look. When we said we would be back later, he could have let us know that he was closing early that day. I think as a business person, if you don't honor the hours posted on your signage, maybe you shouldn't have a business.

That includes things like a stone store mascot, a discount from 1-33% for a poem, random promotions of a cookie with your purchase, and more. That said, it's still a thrift store so you may not find what you're looking for any given day. But I've seen some of their posts on social media about hunting for what they resell, and I'm grateful to not have to dig through nasty bins and stand in line at 5am for estate sales. Trying to find someone to ask a question was challenging and the answer was often "I don't know." I called all this week to ask one question...no one picked up. It just sent you to voicemail or a phone tree. NO one wants to wait for a callback just to get a quick answer to one simple question. I had a great interaction with one of the new owners of the store. The business was recently bought from the previous owners by a nice family -- I spoke with the father/husband. I've never had a negative interaction with one of the lovely ladies up front. The clothing section is very organized. The sections are indicated by very cute and easily readable signs. I've never had a problem looking for something. I've found several cute shirts that I regularly wear, as well as presents for family and Knick knacks for my desk. The store looks a lot bigger than it seems. I was pleasantly surprised to have such a big space to explore around. There are so many things to look at and sections to dig around in. This place is really cool as yes... it is highly vintage oriented merchandise but we noticed more artsy and crafty items that were for sale too that were amazingly cool. So that added a further unique spin to this place. Also there was a plant vendor too that sold lots of different kind of little cactuses in various colored shades which further enhanced this place. I saw things of a vintage nature I liked... which were mainly old action figures... that was a lot of fun to browse through checking out all of those!

My situation was the latter- I was going to yard sales in Newberg when I came across this place. It is very unassuming from the outside and has limited hours- if you're able to visit though, I recommend it. The prices are very fair, the selection is good and the volunteers are very friendly. It's definitely not as clean or comfortable as say Goodwill, but it's fairly organized and easy to find things. The best selections are in clothing, books, homewares and DVDs. Lots of parking in the area including a dedicated lot. Bit of a warning- during summer it can get very hot in here. I think there is AC but the building doesn't appear to be well insulated. Not a major deal for me, but for people more sensitive to temperature this is a heads up!

Placing a basket on top on a furniture item to sort my goods... 2. She scolded me and also another customer about our selections we brought to the counter which were small furniture item we were interested in purchasing. 3. I had started to prepare my items that were fragile in a way the cashier could wrap them for me in the hand towels I was purchasing ... only to have her come up specifically just to observe me it was painfully obvious.... 4. She also made a WTF gesture to me thinking I had placed something at the front to purchase thinking it was mine when it was not....... I have spent about $350 on both visits...I am a customer... I do not deserve to be treated as an unwelcomed guest. Especially when I am a person who believes in supporting local business especially if they have a core mission to help others in the community...... Agressive, angry and hostile is a way in which I would have described my last shopping experience....Thank you for being an example of a person I would not want to emulate in a professional way.....And No I will definitely not be back as the abuse is not worth the transaction..... and I am sure she will be content with running off business as she has 0 people skills....and more importantly a lack of interest in helping her customers ......
