These reviews are real! His bid was the highest bid. But I decided to pay for good quality. I took a chance with him cause I didn't really know it will be quality work indeed. I'm OCD with anything so I planned our new gutters install with new downspouts and foldable extensions. Color and placement. He was very knowledgeable and helped me out so clearly with my endless info requests. I'm very methodical so we made sure all my issues were addressed before day of install. On day of install he sent his superhero's crew. They were respectful, cleaned after themselves and made sure I was very happy with anything they did. I gave them the breakdown and even when I found out I made mistakes with some downspouts colors that just didn't work, they replaced them with no hitch or even questions. I was speechless. This company is the 2nd or 3rd service provider I ever encountered in my life that are professionals that do their work methodically and meticulously in a way that can be appreciated by any ocd and detail oriented person. It was a joy working with them and as I mentioned to James. I rather pay more for minimal to zero headache given by provider. One little thing, the job was done in two stages, one removal of old gutters and taking debries to the dump and second, install of new gutters. Between those stages, I was not notified by the crew that it will be a good idea to scrape off waterproofing gunk left over from old gutters and paint the fascia underneath to make it look seamless after the install. But I did that never the less, aka ocd me. And gutters turned out wonderful. Thank you James for our new 5" k style Gutters and leaf blaster pro leaf guard install. Since our roof is not new, after gutter install, My husband fixed two small flashings that weren't butting well and causing edges of gutter to leak and now it all works wonderfully. Hire them!! I regret hiring this company. I hired this company to replace all of my gutters and add additional…read moregutters. They said it would take a day, but then they only sent one guy to do all the work so it took longer. Later that year, I was having issues with part of the gutters. They sent one of their employees (I forget his name) and he claimed he didn't see anything wrong. What was weird was he then gave me his personal cell phone number and asked that I call him directly for any work. Basically trying to do more work for himself and not the company. I called the office, Amber said that isn't normal and not to call him but to call the office. They never fixed a thing or could find the issue. After that, I was shopping for a new roof. I spoke with their employees again. A couple employees came and gave me an estimate. There said a couple things that made me question them. They also said they sub contract another company. I didn't want that, plus was questioning a couple things they told me, so I went with a different company for a roof who was great. Later on, after a couple days of rain (still within warranty) I noticed standing water. I spoke with an employee about this. I asked about adding a downspout. They had scheduled me on a day I wasn't going to be home and a day we did not discuss. I called and spoke with Amber who said she needed to speak with Paxson first. I even said to her, I'm the homeowner and this date was NOT discussed and I won't be home, don't send anyone that day. This went back and forth and she rudely yelled at me on the phone and hung up. I then get Paxson on the phone and let him know about how rude Amber is and about the situation. At this point I only want to go through him since Amber is completely unprofessional. I advise him of the situation PLUS at that point I had noticed leaks in the gutters (still within warranty). Paxson said he would get back to me. Never happened. I'm assuming it's so time could run out on the warranty so they don't have to deal with it. I called to speak with Jordan. This took multiple attempts because Amber didn't want to be helpful at all. When I did finally get in touch with him, he just talked to me like I'm stupid and seemed annoyed that I reached out to him. I sent him pictures of the leaks and all he said was "I don't know" to everything. After attempts of getting Paxson on the phone, he did say his wife was having a baby and would get back to me. I waited MONTHS and he never did. This company will never get another dollar from me. Luckily I let my neighbors know of the situation and one went with a better company (search and you'll find good ones). With all of this, I definitely don't recommend this company. I'm also SO glad I didn't hire them for my roof. Not only do they not deserve the business, but there's no telling what other nonsense would have gone on with that and I need a company that stands by their warranty, not dodging it. Good luck dealing with them if you have an issue. I'm sure they'll try to respond to this with some nonsense and lies. Don't listen to any typical response they have. I have proof of everything.

We recently went through the process of having to replace our entire roof and got six different…read morequotes from companies. Hawaiian Built roofing was one of the companies we worked with. They were actually in our top two for who we wanted to work with. Even though we ended up not working with them I will say the biggest pro we had for them is that they communicated very well and even made modifications to the roofing quote and met with us a second time in person. The main reason we ended up not working with them was because we didn't feel like they were living up to their "apples to apples" guarantee. In the contract they gave us to look over they stated that if you could a roofing company that would do the exact same job but for less than they would refund the difference and give you a $50 gift card. I ended up getting multiple other quotes that used the same shingle, had the same process for underlayment (ice and water shield, starter shingle etc), however they were roughly $3000-$5000 less than Hawaiian, and they included the Valley Metal. I shared all of this with Saundra and they came back with Option 1 - doing the metal valley and doing ice and water shield on 100% of the house. For the same cost $35,000. Or option 2 - A traditional valley package that would reduce the price by $1500. She also offered to come over to take a more detailed look of everything, which we took her up on. After meeting with her and going over everything she told us that Certainteed was having a sale on some colors of shingles and she would look at those and get back to us. She was able to get the Certainteed in a specific color for $33,000 or the Malarkey Vista in Storm Grey for $33,000. We did some more research and learned that it's not recommended to put ice and water shield on the entire house as it can cause condensation build up if its not put in 100% correctly. We also learned that the Malarkey shingles are a better quality than the Certainteed. The Malarkey also has a better warranty overall. At $33,000 they were still $3,000 over the other company that we were considering that was going to use the Malarkey Vista. After my husband and I talked about it we decided that we didn't feel like they were standing by their apples to apples guarantee. My husband also felt like Sandra was "putting down" other roofing companies. I didn't see it as much as he did. I took what she was saying as trying to explain why their company was "better" than other companies by focusing on the fact that they don't subcontract out etc. I will say that when we told the other company that we were choosing between them and Hawaiian they said "that makes sense, they are our biggest competition." The company we chose doesn't subcontract out either, we made a point of asking and checking the contract for it. We ended up going with the other company who got us the Malarkey Vista shingle with a 50 year non prorated warranty for a couple thousand less than their original quote due to deal they were having. I wouldn't have minded working with Hawaiian Built Roofing, but wasn't willing to pay $5000 more for the same system.
