I decided to try here again to see if my impression was different a couple of months ago, but it…read morestill didn't quite hit the craving. So, let me go over the good and the bad. The good, is that they apparently have old school fries and Philly which is cheese whiz and onions. They have that in sandwich and fries form which is pretty good (I'm full lol). The staff is generally nice and the food is served quickly. Unfortunately, there were still some complains. The biggest one is that they really skimp on the cheese and cheese whiz is potent, but on half the sandwich I could barely taste it or not taste it at all. At least that one doesn't have lettuce, tomato, Mayo, and pickles (now they no longer list those as optional, but standard, which is good so know what to expect). The other thing while not a huge deal for me is they went seriously heavy handed on the onions...I don't mind grilled onions, but many people don't like that many... Seriously it was insane lol. Also the buns were still very soft despite seeming like was put on the grail, didn't get very toasted. It was also served "open faced" which isn't a bad thing since we easy to put together, just an fyi. Also the fries had the whiz, onions, and Philly meat as well and was pretty good (but def watch for the onions lol).

Honestly, should've been a red flag being in Walmart, but give it a shot anyways. Definitely will…read morenot be eating here again. My Philly cheesesteak sandwich was gross and barely any meat even came with a tomato on it. The fries were cold and old!

Galligaskin's has been making Boston style subs in Fort Worth longer than most of us have been…read morealive, and they'll tell you so, proudly and rightfully. The oldest sub shop in Texas is not a title you stumble into, and one visit makes it clear they've earned it. First, the parking situation, because someone has to say it. The spots up front are scarce and competitive. Don't give up, there's additional parking in the back with its own entrance. File that away before you go, or you'll spend ten minutes circling a strip that has not gotten larger since the 1970s. And speaking of the 1970s, the interior leans fully into its vintage identity. Small, dark, and unapologetically retro, it feels like a sub shop that missed the memo on modern restaurant design and decided it didn't care. Honestly, respect. Now, the subs. Galligaskin's cuts their own meat and cheese in house and bakes their rolls fresh daily, which is the kind of thing that sounds like marketing until you take a bite and realize it actually matters. The roast beef and cheese, loaded with toppings, is a proper sandwich. The house-made Galli Oil and pickled pepper finish that goes on every sub is the secret weapon - not spicy, just deeply flavorful, the thing that makes each bite a little better than the last. We also tried the burger, which came as a genuine surprise. A sub shop doing a burger well feels like it shouldn't work, but here we are, soft bun, flavorful patty, no notes. For sides, the Tater Tots are the undisputed champion of the table. Crispy shell, fluffy interior, the ideal tot. The fried okra was a strong runner-up, well breaded and served with ranch. The French fries, however, were a swing and a miss. They looked the part, golden, fresh cut, promising - and then arrived soggy. A limp fry is a tragedy in any zip code, and these were no exception. No one wants a sad potato. Order the tots. Skip the fries. You've been warned. Galligaskin's in the real deal, a Fort Worth original that's still earning its reputation one fresh-baked roll at a time. One last night: they're closed on Sundays, so plan accordingly. A cruel fact to discover in the parking lot.

I keep going to these Fort Worth's "staples" but the majority of them aren't good... and…read moreGalligaskin's falls right into this description. I ordered the "Galli Deluxe". The meat was ok but overall the sandwich was TOO DRY. The relish they added on the sandwich was supposed to combat this issue but it didn't help. I really think they need to add some more sauce on the bread before adding the meat... maybe some honey mustard? I have tried Galligaskin's twice and both times the sandwich was too dry for my liking.
