Stopped by after seeing the large amount of positive recommendations here on Yelp. I have a brand new Marathon watch, and wanted to have the band adjusted as it was too big. I was a little hesitant at first, as I was afraid it would be scratched, or the screw heads stripped. But...the number of good reviews gave me the confidence it would be done right. Found the shop this afternoon, and got the band adjusted while I waited. It fit and looked perfect. Screws were intact, and no scratches were visible. I would like to give the highest possible rating for Allen's Watch Clock Service. I had an antique French clock circa early 1800s which no one could fix. I was almost going to give up on the clock and just have it as a dust-collecting piece. However, when I brought it to Allen's Watch Clock Service, I was met by Rod who was so kind, hospitable and professional. He was able to have my antique clock working in perfect condition! I drove 30 minutes to go to the shop as I had called about water damage to a watch. I get there and the tech is not in but his store keepr called him. Heres where it gets CRAZY! He says oh yeah I remember you ,here what we do. I need a deposit fo $400.00, and at that moment I turned around and walked to the door, telling his helper THATS INSANE. Not that this place (or the EXTREMELY honest, kind hearted, professional and knowledgeable husband & wife team who own and run it) need any MORE 5 out of 5 stars (or 10 out of 10) but I had such great experiences there I figured I'd do my very first and only review EVER in my 56+ years alive. First, I am only visiting California and when I called to ask if they replaced watch batteries (and to see how much). When my reply was "Yes and 10 dollars" (*TEN!! DOLLARS!! WHAT!!?). Since all the previous places I called charged quite a bit more, I set a time to go there and have it done. While there I met Rod & Carely (etc.) and as Rod replaced (my 'late') father's watch battery, we conversed about multiple topics (partially about coin collecting (which we both do) and that I also had/have with me my father's wedding band that I used to wear as a pinky ring but it was too tight and 2 of the larger diamonds fell out. Hopefully I've learned my lesson not to wear ANY jewelry while playing sports, working in the yard or doing ANYTHING that might damage or cause loss. I found one of the 2 diamond and had/have that also. Anyway after he looked at it and told me how much it all would cost me to make the ring larger, put the diamond I had back in the ring AND put ANOTHER (same high quality) diamond in there, I was EXTREMELY surprised at how very....VERY reasonable his quote was. I have included some pictures but they don't show that Rod takes SUCH **GREAT** pride in not only *TRULY* doing the 'right thing(s)' but going even MORE above and beyond what he agreed to. I am not suggesting that he will do the exact same 'thing(s)' for you if you go there but for me, instead of just 'stretching' the back/bottom of my ring, he actually ADDED MORE GOLD *AND* polished it (which he also did a FANTASTIC job doing that too) at NO extra cost to me. I don't know about 'you' but to 'me' when someone.... when ANYONE not only does GREAT work (whatever that might be) and you SEE that person GENUINELY takes pride in whatever work they do but ALSO takes that EXTRA step, that....THAT place is worth mentioning so others (like yourselves) can know about it. .....and apparently by all the MANY others who gave 5 stars and PERFECT reviews, I am not the only person who thinks & feels that way. read more

Allen is the best!! My wife and I have been married for 14 years and - for our 10th anniversary - she bought me a watch and had it engraved. When the wheel that changes the time and date broke, I took the watch to the Mall. One store wanted to charge $60 without even opening the watch up, another wanted $150 to "replace the whole inside." I walked into Allen's shop yesterday after lunch, showed him the watch and asked what he could do for me. He put his lunch aside and got to work. 20 minutes later, I had a new wheel, a new battery, a new something-else and my very meaningful watch was back on my wrist...for $40!! I found this company online and just dropped in to get a watch battery. They were able to replace it on the spot. Allen noticed that my watch was too loose fitting and offered to punch another hole in the leather band for a tighter fit. I really love when people take an extra little step out of their way to help make the product better for you... and I didn't even buy the watch from here!
