Eddie is the most trustworthy and honest watch repair guy I have ever done business with. Before I found this gem of a jeweler/watch repair guy, I routinely got cheated by these "slick" places in the mall. Putting batteries in that failed in two months! They will often use old batteries and charge an exorbitant fee. Not Eddie! His prices are very fair and his work is guaranteed. He has a modest little shop in a modest little strip center, but he is very smart about his trade and will tell you the truth about whether it's worth fixing the watch or clock you brought in. I have been going here for about 6-7 years. I've taken many different family members watches to be fixed or have a battery replaced. I recently took my grandmothers 27 year old Bulova clock to be fixed because a hand broke. Instead of replacing it with a cheap/mismatched one he carved a brand new one out of metal. One of those places that you never thought you go into, but once you're there you're so happy you went inside. I had an old clock given to me by my grandma. It sat for years and years in a cardboard box stuffed away in a closet. Then, after a move, it sat in the corner of my living room on the floor, for oh, maybe four more years. The wooden clock was a mess. It was missing the pendulum weights, it was dusty and taped up with duct tape. Finally I found Eddy at Time Square. In a quest to clean and declutter my house, I decided now was the time (get it?) to make time to fix the old clock. Eddy took one look at the clock and exclaimed: "Oh this is an old clock! It's 200 years old!" So we chatted about what to do with it. We decided to remove the face and replace the old mechanics with a new one. In one day he did all the work and had it up on his wall when I arrived to pick up the clock. It's shiny and it works! I love my "new" old clock! I know because I've been bringing all my watches here...especially the ones with sentimental value to me. He is honest about the price of repair and can tell you if your watch is worth fixing. I love the couple that owns this place! They are so sweet and helpful. The place is a little rough around the edges, but the customer service is what keeps me coming back. He has replaced the batteries in all of my watches (I have a little bit of a watch obsession) for an incredibly low price. Once when I was there he had some watches from an estate sale that he was showing for another customer. I got a Baume and Mercier for a very good price.He even let me borrow it so I could bring it to a couple of other watch stores for appraisals, and they all said I should snap it up at that price...so I did. The sweet old man who owns the store has worked there for 21 years. He's very nice and friendly. Prices are so affordable. He quickly changed the battery for one watch for $7 and resized another for $7... I went to the mall once and got charged $15 for battery change, that's more than half! First off this shop would never qualify as a Beverly Hills clock shop due to it's lack of ambiance. But it is neat, warm and well stocked. That said it is simply the best clock and watch repair I have ever experienced, the most moderately priced given their superior workmanship, with truly first rate service. While waiting for my car to be done servicing at Northridge Toyota, my wrist watch battery needed a replacement, I searched on yelp and within minutes I came across this location. I called and asked if they were still open (around 5pm) and they were. Once my car was done, I headed straight here. Upon entering, one could tell the business has been around for awhile. Took in a $2000.00 cuckoo clock that was having problems with the chime mechanism. The clock would cuckoo OK but the chime (spring strike) was hit and miss. After about 5 weeks I got a call from the owner, Eddy, that the clock was fixed and ready for pickup. When I got to the shop, rather than demonstrate that the problem had been fixed, he quickly started pulling off the weights and handing me the clock. He mentioned that there was one position on the chain that the clock would stop - something about a bent gear. When I took the clock to him it had NO problem keeping time. When I got it home and started it up not only was the gong (spring strike) issue not resolved but the clock would not run. The pendulum would just swing with shorter and shorter swings until it just stopped. So now the clock has gone from bad to non-functional, and on top of all - I was charged $25 for this downgrade. The clock is now totally non-functional. I will never go back to Time Square for any type of service. read more
