I was approached while mowing my lawn by one of the field poachers as I call them lol. I agreed to…read morethe free inspection, and Paul came out the following Saturday. He was wonderful, very knowledgable, shot me straight, and was super laid back and easy to work with. I agreed to a new roof installation, as mine was broaching the 20 year marker, and I knew there were issues starting to arise. The financing was really remarkable, warranties bar none, roof itself was Tier 3, and Paul called his supervisor while with me, to welcome me to the "Home Genius Family." All in all, I felt impressed, and confident I made a sound choice. The night before the install, Tom, the project manager, contacted me. He informed me of the time the roofers would arrive, and cautioned that while I was told it was a 5 hour job, it might take longer cuz the weather was not the best. I totally understood, and the day of the install, the roofers were on time and worked till about 230pm. I had left for a minute, but Tom had told me that progress photos would be sent because he was going to be stopping by. When the roofers left, they ended up trapping the roof because they were unable to finish on time. Tom called me that evening, apologized, and stated the weather was a bulk of the reason, and if the weather continued to be shabby the following day, they may have to hold off, but assured me he would text in the AM to let me know. He also stated he had come by while I was out, twice, and took progress photos. I never received them after we disconnected, which leads me to believe he may not have actually come out, as he did state while we talked he was feeling under the weather. The following day came and went and I did not receive any communication, and no one arrived. I ended up texting Tom @ 10pm because I could hear hail in the pipe connecting to my water heater, since all I had was a tarp for a roof, lol. He responded "absolutely, it will be done tomorrow, and I'll be doing my final walk through with you tomorrow (this was promised in the agreement, that the project manager would do a finally walk through and inspection)." The next day came, and by 10am, still no roofers. I messaged Tom and got a vague "they will be getting it done today!" I work from home, was training a new coworker, and reached out to Tom again for a more stable time frame, so I could adjust around the noise. He said "I'm hoping 12-1." They ended up showing up at 11am. The roofers were very kind, but from Honduras and did not speak any English. Which isn't a big deal, but for communication, especially with no project manager on site, it was a bit rough at times. One gent had a translator on his phone, so he'd show me the English translation, which was helpful. Another thing that was a bit...weird, was there was no Porta Pot set up outside, so once one of the roofers asked to use the restroom, the others fell in line and on both days, I had knocks on the door continuously, asking to use the rest room. I wasn't too concerned, but thought it was a bit unprofessional, since most construction jobs on homes, a toilet is provided by the company for the workers, to alleviate discomfort on either end. At the end of the 2nd day, the roof was installed, and the gents all rotated in to use the restroom before they left. When my daughter went to use the bathroom a while later, she yelled at me to come and look, and the sink stopper was jammed into the drain, with a sludge of dirty water in the sink. I attempted to use the metal rod under the sink to dislodge the stopper, but it was jammed. I contacted Tom (who I still had not met or seen) he texted back and said he was 2.5 hours away, but could swing by and fix it later in the evening. He mentioned the metal bar under the sink and I let him know I knew what it was for, but the workers had jammed it in pretty good and the lever was not working. He did state the company would pay for any repairs, which was good. I did eventually get it dislodged, and Tom stated he would be by the next AM to do a fly over the house with a drone, and the final walk through. Suffice to say, he never contacted me, and the final walk through was never completed. I still don't know who Tom is, lol, but the roof does look great, and the warranties cover it till the cows come home, so even if the job was shoddy, I'm covered. The lack of communication from the project manager, and the language barrier with the roofers made for a not so shiny experience, but, overall, I'm satisfied that my home has been fortified.

I called LeafFilter because our gutters, downspouts and pipes to the road were getting clogged with…read moreleaves and debris. LF is also local and the founder is a UA graduate. The salesman, Matt, came quickly on February 15, 2020. He promised the moon and quoted a high price. I pointed out the senior discount and published discount. I finally got him down to $4,999 for 175 feet of gutters. The LF team started work on February 18 and ended the next day. Three separate installers performed the work. These guys looked like they could barely handle the job, and I heard one muttering and swearing about his task. I believe they installed hidden supports, but I never saw them use sealants to repair end caps or downspout elbows. This was not an overly careful repair of existing gutter issues - just capping and screwing in the screens on top of the gutters. I monitored the screens after they were installed. I have tall maple trees in back. The first maple droppings were the reddish buds that stuck to the top of the screens in bunches. Then there were those stringy maple droppings and, finally, the whirly gigs. All of this detritus stuck to the top of the screens. I did not have an overflow until a long downpour in May. It occurred from a valley in a peak on the front of the house (this is a typical Prestige home), and debris had clogged the screens in a gutter corner under the valley. I called my former gutter cleaner, and he swept the filters and roof for $300. I note that my Lifetime LF Warranty promises that my LF system will not allow "the interior of [my] gutter to clog with debris causing [my] gutter to fill with water and overflow..." That's true! The screen is so fine that nothing is getting into the gutter, but water is still overflowing the stuck debris on the exterior. I still need a gutter cleaner to clean the maple tree debris, but the downspouts are clear and running (if the water can get through to the inner gutter). Accordingly, I am partially satisfied with the system, but would have paid half as much if I had known that is was not a complete solution to overflowing gutters. I attach photos of the gutters from April and May to show that the maple tree droppings did not dislodge and remained stuck to the filters.

After talking to him and explaining my time limit and everything, he said he could do it so I hired him on the spot. Our projected start date was originally June 1st, but didn't start until June 12th due to change orders at other jobs they were busy with. Ryan was the lead on my project and they were a pleasure to work with. In the end we had a mishap with Lowes and a couple of things that Mike came out and fixed, but in the end we got our beautiful little bathroom remodel, I've referred Damian's info to a few people, and would definitely work with Damian, Ryan, Mike, and again.
