When…read moreI hired Stepanski Land Management/ Huntsville Fencing Company I thought I was hiring a professional small business, BUT I was VERY wrong!! I am embarrassed that I even hired this company. I strongly feel like I was scammed by them. I needed 925 feet of fencing for 2 horse pastures and originally they told me it would take 2 weeks... MAN what a JOKE!! It took them 5 weeks to put up field fencing with a top rail and at the end of the job they tried to invoice me for an additional $6k on the last day they were here. They said they did an additional 315 feet of fencing... which was IMPOSSIBLE! It took them 5 days to realize that there was no justification for any additional charge... And at the end of the day they left me with MAJOR issues with my fence. Yes, they will "build you a fence" but... here is what I had to deal with: - Rick Young did not measure the site despite my many requests in person and on the phone. Even their invoices explicitly state "A final measurement will need to be made before this job is started to confirm the linear footage." This was NEVER done and they actually attempted to use this against me. -Staci Stepanski the owner gave me her word she would call me back about the outrageous $6k invoice her company fraudulently tried to charge me for.. and she NEVER called me back!! How hard is it to call a customer back when you say you are going to??? She is very disappointing. She never took any responsibility, she points fingers at her workers and says she doesn't know what is going on. -The crew installing the fence was inexperienced and immature. I had to constantly clean up after them. One crew member was constantly on the phone with his girlfriend. -Showed up to the job on 5+ separate occasions without enough materials for a full day (cement. nails, poles, wood, tools, food/water) -The crew was requesting water and phone chargers from me. I didn't mind providing these items occasionally however when a crew member came up to my house requesting it I felt like I was being taken advantage of. -Tools and building materials were left all over my property. I was constantly picking up after them every day. -352 feet of fencing was set incorrectly costing time to correct the error -Communication between Staci Stepanski, Rick Young and their crew was TERRIBLE. I was the one following up on the schedule. They would all point fingers at each other blaming each other for issues. -Project started on 3/7/2022 and ended on 4/15/2022 this caused me to rearrange other contractors and push back other projects. And the delay was not because of the weather. -Despite telling Staci Stepanski and her crew that there was alot of trash, water bottles, concrete, metal wire cuttings, barbed staples and screws that needed to be picked up they did NOT do their due diligence. They all stated they picked everything up however when I went out to check on 4/16 there was still debris!! I had to buy a magnet and spend hours of my Easter weekend picking it all up. -The tops of the poles were jagged and uneven. I had to sand down each one so my horses wouldn't cut there faces open. -There were holes exposed and left unfilled. -There were post holes not filled completely with cement leaving a gap from the top of the cement and the top of the hole -Wire mesh left sharp and exposed on the inside of pasture where my horses would get hurt. I was told that all the sharp wire would be bent away from the horses. -Wire mesh loose and uneven gaps -One of the pasture gates is not lined up straight so it doesn't close correctly -Missing H braces in some corners which they charged me for -They asked for 50% upfront (without measuring) and then Staci Stepanski showed up on 3/26/22 well BEFORE the project was complete pressuring me to pay the remaining balance. Even though on their invoice it states: "The balance of your invoice will be due upon completion of your project." I strongly feel like I was scammed. In good faith I believed what they'd told me. I even paid upfront. I thought they would have pride in their work and not leave a customer so unhappy with their service and fence. I didn't know a "professional" fencing company would cause so many issues. My concerns were NOT resolved. They tried to brush me off. They did not care that I was physically cleaning up their mess, fixing a "fence" they built, and most of all they DID NOT care they were putting my animals in harms way with their carelessness. We tried our best to remedy all the damage they created BUT I am STILL finding wires, staples and wood screws in my pastures. What a headache! I pray that my horses don't get hurt because of Stepanski Land Management's negligence. I had to give my honest review because I feel like the reviews on their website are not accurate. I don't know if friends or family provided them but this was a NIGHTMARE.

I had a review up on Yelp with Natures way Resources & it wasn't a good review. I was upset that I…read morehad received 4 cubic yards of triple ground mulch & it had garbage all throughout it. It wasn't a little garbage, it was kitchen garbage bags full of plastics of all kinds. It was a mess. I tried reaching out to the company(by email to the person I was talking to about prices and how much I was ordering) but never heard back unfortunately. The reason that prompted me to write the review in the first place was months later,after receiving the mulch, I was pulling weeds & I was still picking garbage out of the mulch that the rain had washed up to the surface. It looked so incredibly trashy. After writing the review the company called & emailed me to reach out to apologize for the contamination of the mulch, explain that it wasn't their normal business practice & they pride themselves on great customer service & great products (which I've heard about from others in the past which made me choose this company since I was new to the area.) He explained that with Covid, things had gotten a little abnormal & the emails must've gotten lost in the shuffle for the response back about the situation. I greatly appreciated the company reaching back out to me (even after months later) to correct this. They offered to replace or refund my money. I took them up on the offer to replace half the mulch to cover the garbage/plastics on top of my front beds. I've given this company 5 stars because after all that was said & done.... they came through & corrected their mistake. I can understand accidents happening... we all make them. But for a company to right their wrongs, that's a good company to me. The Covid had messed everyone up & turned things upside down so that is totally understandable! I want to add that the delivery driver was friendly & she called both times to ask where I wanted it dumped(the driveway) when she got to my house. Thank you, David, for reaching back out to me to fix the accident. I appreciate the great customer service! I will be using this company again:)
