    Epik Pools

    (3 reviews)

EPIK POOLS Integrity, Performance, Customer is Always First…read more First and foremost, it is important to note the owners of Epik Pools, Richard Boehm and Daniel Hlebowicz, are two of the most honest, reputable, and creative individuals we have ever had the pleasure of working with. For us, these qualities were as important, if not more important, than the fact that they are seasoned pool professionals, presented us with an incredibly unique pool design, and followed it up with quality workmanship that went into our investment every step of the way. I would also like to add that we interviewed and received designs from five different pool companies before contacting Epik (referred to us by a friend). Not only were we disappointed with the other companies' less than stellar efforts and lackluster pool designs, we were very frustrated with their lengthy response times. Our experience with Epik, however, was quite the opposite. Daniel came out to meet with us the day after we contacted him, and it was immediately apparent how well he listened, observed, and translated his observations into an innovative, carefully planned pool design. Daniel methodically studied our home's style and décor, which resulted in a design that flowed seamlessly - from the indoors out. Once we saw Epik's plans for our backyard we knew no other layout would do. It is also important to note that Epik's price point was very competitive. And, because their plan was so much more creative and designed with our specific tastes in mind, it was a slam dunk decision. Epik skillfully and meticulously completed our pool design package for the Woodlands Township committee review, and it was accepted with very few changes. They made a point of ensuring our package was done right the first time, in hopes of avoiding arbitration (which all of the other pool companies indicated was likely due to the size/location of our project). It certainly didn't hurt that Epik has a well-established, highly regarded reputation with the Township. It can make the difference between waiting two weeks for your pool approval versus 8 to 12 weeks. Once plans were approved, we were pleasantly surprised to find Epik's other owner, Richard Boehm, wasted no time in scheduling contractors to begin work immediately. Their contractors are one of their greatest assets (a rarity these days). Not only are they 100% reliable, but Epik retains some of the best contractors in the business due to one simple strategy - they pay their contractors fairly and as soon as their work is completed. Because many other pool companies are unpredictable in this area, contractors often leave to find work elsewhere. Epik's immediate payment response ensures they retain only the highest quality contractors in the business. This is important because they show up on time, their work is flawless, and you can be confident they are professional and proficient in all they do. In short, it is apparent they like working for Epik. Epik Pools is fully and completely committed to 100% customer satisfaction. In a project the size of ours, there were bound to be unexpected issues, and with each and every one, Epik quickly and efficiently worked to resolve it. If they couldn't do it over the phone or with their contractors, they were at our house, usually the same day, sometimes, within minutes. They have a "can do" attitude and made every effort to ensure we were thrilled with our new pool. If they say they will do something, you can be confident it will happen. No matter what we asked them to do, the answer was always "we can do that" or "here's another way we can make this work." Epik is incredibly resourceful when it comes to working within the customer's budget. Of course, we wanted all the bells and whistles, but some things just weren't in the budget. In each instance, Epik worked creatively with us to devise a solution that ensured our satisfaction. For example, we had originally chosen stamped concrete for our patio, however, after considering the long-term vision, we decided to install travertine (definitely outside the budget). Epik worked diligently to find another travertine (same color we wanted and just as beautiful) at a price point we could afford. They also gave us a discount on moving our gas line (from one side of the house to the other) to help alleviate the expense. We are thrilled with the result and thankful to Epik for their creativity and generosity to make this happen. The travertine patio is one of the most striking aspects of our pool. If you want a company with integrity, one that will get the job done right, if you want a company with a creative vision who consistently puts the customer first, there is no other choice than Epik Pools. Should you wish to discuss Epik with me in further detail, feel free to contact me via email at postorinofamily@gmail.com or phone 913-302-0116.

They designed a beautiful layout that fit our unique backyard and our desires. Picking out the stones, colors, materials etc. was effortless, and they had perfect recommendations based on our environment and design ideas. The two people that we dealt with primarily were Sam (the project manager) and Tami (the coordinator). They were both absolutely wonderful, updated us and contacted us frequently, and were always readily available for any questions that popped up. The construction took place on a surprisingly fast timeline. We were lucky to have good weather the entire time but even with the contractors all being busy, they followed their original timeline almost exactly. The quality of the work all the way through exemplified professionalism. And as far as the final results... Every morning now I step out and I am thrilled how my ugly backyard has been transformed into my true backyard paradise. Our family uses the pool constantly and I know with the quality of the work done, it will be a hassle-free experience enjoying this oasis. I am so happy we used this company, they made the process from loan origination suggestions to final "pool school" and maintenance plans so easy.... A totally professional group!!

Primo was quick to respond to our initial request and provided a detailed and professional construction plan along with a 3-dimensional model of what the finished project would look like. Kevin and his team were able to quickly answer any questions that we had and provided a quotation within 2 days. Primo handled all the inspections and permits required for the Woodlands Association approval. Primo built a new 500 sqft gabled patio with a 7' wide wood burning (gas light assist) fireplace along with sitting benches on each side. The fireplace, benches and supporting posts are finished in natural stone veneer with a "dry stack" installation. The floor was constructed with Belgard Origins pavers in a Crab Orchard color. The ceiling was finished with a cedar tongue and groove finish along with a pony wall and cedar collar ties. To finish the project, Primo also installed new cedar fencing in the back yard. We are 100% completely satisfied with the workmanship and responsiveness of Primo Outdoor Living. They finished the project on time and were completely transparent with all aspects of the construction. In our opinion, Primo has an outstanding team that completed the project as agreed on. Kevin (owner) was at our site every morning to answer our questions and oversee the construction progress. The Primo construction crew were dependable and arrived early every morning. They did not require any micromanagement whatsoever. David, Juan, Jaime, Chealbi and the rest of the Primo staff are outstanding, easy to work with and can be counted on to do the right thing. We will definitely be using Primo on future outdoor projects.

Frass noticed in the previous leak areas on May Ist for the first time) I am posting this because we had a money exchange and he kept $300, when I even was nice and suggested he keep $258 additional that he owed. The nightmare of dealing with Montgomery Custom Pools is like dealing with the most dysfunctional…read morefamily member in your life. Sales sold us our pool and claimed that if the build took longer than 6 weeks, there was a problem. The build took a lot longer and sales quit taking our calls. We never knew from day to day if anyone would be at our house to work. The owner had the nerve to tell us that we lived too far and the trips to our house had killed his margin. This was after he was paid in full mind you... The owner's early 20s son basically built our pool. We are convinced we were guinea pigs for him to learn. Example: At one point, the kid buried a drainage pipe in the dirt. We brought this up to the owner who asked if we would dig it up and measure the pipe so he did not have to drive to our house. We did...unhappily...and the smell from water being stagnant and mud clogging the "drainage" hole was horrific! This sparked extreme worry as to what else was done 1/2 ways. After the build was complete, we paid to get a 2nd opinion on the plumbing as we suspected there was air in the lines based on prior experience with a pool. We had brought this up to the owner who told us that if we find the problem, to let him know; he claimed to have already checked and couldn't find anything. Turns out our 2nd opinion found the problem right away, fixed it, and let us know that the plumbing was cheaply done and we may eventually have to get it redone. The routing was too short and the piping should have been a 1/2 size larger. Not to mention, our pool equipment looks like the leaning tower of Pisa. Every day that contractors were at our house, we had to pick up garbage so our dogs wouldn't eat it (i.e. taco wrappers, drink bottles, etc.) The son had a young lady with him one day who used my backyard as a bathroom. When they were called out on it, we got to hear colorful language pertaining to us and how far we lived. We relied heavily on our backyard cameras to let us know when people were working. Again, we never knew from day to day. There was NO communication. The unfortunate part is that the company did not apply for permits with the county ahead of building our pool, so we did not have that safety in place. We also found out (from the owner) mid build that he had been fined - something to do with permits on another build. Here we are months later... We just received a letter in the mail from the gunite company threatening to put a lien on our house for non-payment. When we called the owner of Montgomery Custom Pools, there was a screaming match. P.S. we received a written piece of paper from Vance via text message that he paid the gunite company by exchanging services for a Jeep. We should not know that level of his financial situation. Nor should we have ever received a letter like that...months after our pool was "complete". He has sad stories galore and nothing is his fault. No-one should have to deal with a company like this. Unprofessional and an all-around NIGHTMARE to deal with! Caveat - we had a pool built in our previous home and know the process. Do your homework. Read reviews. Ask for reputable references. Update - June 21, 2018 We are now getting harassment texts and phone calls from the owner regarding this review. In addition, we have had to pay to get plumbing re-worked and are looking into getting concrete decking redone due to the concrete cracking. Not to mention the surface of our pool having craters. It's extremely frustrating. Again, do your homework on reputable references. Update - Sept 12, 2018 Simply warning consumers. Still receiving harassment communications regarding online reviews. It has gotten to the point where he is bullying us with threats. NOT OKAY. The positive out of this experience is meeting others that share similar horror stories from dealing with this company. Frustrating but nice to know we weren't the only ones dealing with lies.

While the showroom was fantastic and they had lots of choices, the problems we had that our sales rep caused were not handled well. We picked out everything with the Tri Supply sales rep and left. The sales rep emailed us and our contractor the pricing and we had her go ahead and order the majority of the plumbing items, over $3,000 worth. The project progressed and after most of the plumbing and all of the tile work had been finished, the plumber noticed that the parts that we had asked the sales rep to order were not the correct ones and would not work. When we questioned the rep, she said that she remembered what we told her we wanted and she did not know why she had ordered something different! After lots of discussion with the rep, she ordered a new part that would resolve the problem (not what we had originally wanted because that would have required tearing the whole shower out instead of a 4x4 section). She never offered to expedite that part and finally after waiting a week the part came in. In the meantime, the tile installer had to come and tear out the tile that had just been installed. The new part was installed and now the plumber and tile installer are redoing it. The cost for the plumber and tile installer to come back and redo the problem caused by the sales rep should have been covered by Tri Supply, not divided between the homeowner and the contractor. I would never recommend Tri Supply, they obviously don't stand behind their purchases.
