Fernando helped me with my truck issues after telling him every detail about what was going on. He even took my truck last minute to focus and work on to do the necessary repairs. He kept me updated about everything he was doing and texted me videos/pix of what he was changing and what was wrong. I got recommended to Fernando and his shop a while back. I came in a week ago and showed him my truck and he told me right away what he saw it needed. He sent me a quote. 2 days later I dropped off my 2002 Toyota Tundra. He swapped out the rear end of the truck, fixed my breaks and addressed other issues they saw while working on it. He was very communicative sending me pictures and calling me keeping me updated throughout the process. All in all he changed the differential, changed the U-bolts in the back, fixed the rear brakes, cut out the existing cross beam and even took the time to go and look for a straight one at the junk yard. He made that thing cross beam look brand new. He secured it down with bolts and lock nuts. He even painted those. Overall I'm extremely happy with the work the guys put in and with the pricing they gave me. The truck belonged to my dad who passed away before being able to fix it. A&A has always been my go-to service garage for more years than I can count. Oil changes, tires, brakes , even something so simple as changing a windshield wiper. This place has been there for me... but nothing like I experienced yesterday. I walked to my car after a very long day of work & when I started it, my car made a crazy loud noise! The FIRST person I called was Fernando at A&A. It was after his regular work hour, but he still answered by the 2nd ring! He instinctively knew someone stole my catalytic converter just by listening to the noise over the phone! Considering I was in such a scared & crappy moment after being robbed, I immediately felt a lot better knowing I was going to be able to have my car taken of by someone trustworthy, reliable & professional. A & A is in short, is a great quality repair, maintenance, and anything motor related shop. Although this is not the most important aspect of a shop, it is incredibly clean and professional in appearance and atmosphere. It tripped me out the first time I was there since almost every repair shop I have been to is a mess, but these guys floor alone is stupid clean. Another great sign when you get to know them is that these guys are car fanatics! Every time you walk into this shop you never know what it is they might be working on. It could be a 70's Bronco, a 90's Camero SS, a 2014 Honda CRV, a 92 Cressida, or even a 60's Mustang. I've literally seen cars from just about every decade in this shop and it's for good reason. A & A is legit, they know what they are doing, use the process of elimination, and know how to problem solve. I consider myself pretty lucky to have heard about these guys via word of mouth. They have been able to help me extensively with my 1992 Cressida. They have literally done just short of a rebuild on my car which can be a pretty tall order for a car with hard to find parts that many shops will likely never encounter these days. They are also very fair with their costs which are pretty typical rates for most shops, but unlike most shops they have quality, transparency, courteousness, and a friendly honest communication in all they approach when committing or attempting a repair. For the cost of labor and all I'd say they are very affordable especially for the class/quality or work they do. I even got a call from them once like 3 months after replacing my head gasket and doing a bunch of repairs on my car just to see how everything was feeling and driving. Fernando, and this shop is one of a kind for sure. I would not trust my car, or any of my friends/relatives vehicles with any one else. If there was a six star option, these guys would take it on a bad day! read more

I don't know where to even begin with this shop. This has been my families mechanic for over 10 years, working on my dads vehicle, grandmas vehicle, grandpas vehicle, and now my vehicle. I was traveling from Arizona back to California to visit with my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee, when my hydraulic fan literally fell out of my vehicle. Turns out the guy I bought it off of had done a lot of half ass work, this shop literally showed me everything they did that was wrong, returned everything back to normal and fixed it completely. It took him about two days due to all the stuff that was wrong with it, but I would rather have that then a non working vehicle. Honestly best work, best prices, and best service anyone can ask for. read more

I took my car and the part that I needed installed (engine variable timing solenoid), a small $35 part. The mechanic had a young kid try to figure out where the part goes because the mechanic couldn't figure it out either. After approximately half an hour, they could not find where the part goes. Finally the mechanic shoes me another engine that he had on a stand and he lifts the head off. He points to the pistons and says "this is where your part goes". I new he was lying but I let him continue. He quoted me $375 to install the part. I told him thanks, but no thanks. I had it properly installed elsewhere for $125 and it only took one-hour and 10 minutes. When the first "mechanic" inspected my engine, they removed the engine shroud and did not re-install it. I went back a few days later for it and they refused to look for it or even acknowledge that they had removed it. I have to get another one from the dealer at $210. read more

This is where I take my vehicle for repair/maintenance. Fernando is very accommodating as far as when to bring the truck into the shop. Same day service. I can drop off the truck in the morning, then walk to catch the bus to work and pick up the truck after work on my way home. It's convenient for me. My brakes and rotors replaced last year and no problems at all. I feel I can trust that they tell me the truth about the repairs or service I really need and what can wait. Took in a 2008 scion with mechanical problems. I already knew the issues it had since I had previously done a diagnostic. The Mechanics were honest in addressing the same issues I had previously diagnosed. The car had several problems and it was fixed withing a few days. In the end they even discounted 100 dollars off of their quoted price because there were several problems that they addressed. I am glad I read the reviews and brought the vehicle here as there are many dishonest mechanics out there but you will not find them here at A&A Garage. read more

As a woman it's hard finding a good mechanic. I expressed this to Fernando when we met on Tuesday. I thought I had found my new mechanic, but I will have to keep looking. I took my car in after my battery light went on. My repairs were $400 for an alternator and 2 belts. The following day as I started my car my gas gauge and warning lights began flashing and the gauge going up and gown as if my tank was full and empty. I called the shop in the morning and left a message for Fernando with one of his techs. After not receiving a phone call by lunch time I called back again around 1:30 PM and left a second message with a different person. The entire week went by and I never had a my phone call returned. After already paying for repairs all I had was a simple question to an issue I believe to be related to the work I just had done. Again, as a woman I can do a lot, but not everything. I know nothing about cars. Which is why I want a reliable and dependable person to service my vehicle. I'm a great customer and I hope to find a shop that will appreciate my repeat business. Follow through and returning phone calls is a huge part of keeping repeat customers. I know everyone has a personal life. Which is why I waited all week before reviewing hoping that I would get a call back. It's Sunday and no call as of yet. The search for my new mechanic will continue. read more

I had been needing certain work done on my car. I yelped Auto Repair near my area (90063).I was looking for reviews that had honest mechanic/s, since I know certain car work is pricey. I wanted someone who would be honest with me and not try to gyp me because I don't know about cars. I was not disappointed. I took my car in for rack and pinion, arms x2, oil change, wheel alignment, new tires and I got a good price. He also showed my husband and I the parts that were removed and where they were faulty. I plan on taking my car for all future repairs to A & A Garage. I will recommend anyone who needs good honest service to Fernando... I do want to add to fellow yelpers who are going there for the first time: There is no sign of the location on the main street (Beverly Blvd), if you are coming from the West turn right on Saddler and there is an Alley, make a left, the garage has giant flags/banners (right when you enter the alley), when you see those flags you know you are there. Or you can park on Beverly Blvd and just walk thru the alley. It's a very clean wide alley (don't get scared lol). read more
