1 star only to get this posted....should be -50 stars Our experience looks like many of these other terrible reviews on this "tax preparer" Hrant. 6 years of seemingly no problems, 2021 when Silvia left it all went to hell. IRS has let us know through penalties. fees, interest that he DID NOT in fact file our taxes FOR 2 YEARS! and actually went so far to file extensions that were never discussed or approved by us. We are still getting late notices for other items he did not follow through with, changing corporations etc. We paid for monthly accounting service and payroll service...there should have been no reason TO BE LATE OR NEED EXTENSIONS, had everything been done on a timely basis, to need an extension. Do not go to Hrant he is a major scammer. He told me that he would file my taxes back in 2023 and he never did until this year on top of that. I received penalties from the IRS. Luckily, I reported him this man knows exactly what he's doing Scamming people taking their money and not doing his job he's a big failure. Do not trust him. Just go and look at the other reviews. As a teacher in Downey for over a decade, I want to protect the people of Downey from a dangerous business. For the last two years, I had my taxes done at A&A Accounting in Downey. The owner, Hrant Bedikian, personally did our taxes. This was for the 2021 and 2022 tax years. When we finished our return for the 2021 tax year, we were excited to learn we would be getting a tax refund for over $7,000. The months kept passing and we hadn't received our refund. I called A&A Accounting multiple times and either the phone would ring and ring or I would leave a message and never get a response. Friends and family told me "the IRS is behind" so I believed them. We met with Hrant for the 2022 tax year and told him that we still hadn't received the refund from the previous tax year. He assured us that it wasn't a problem and proceeded to prepare our tax return for 2022. We didn't think much of it and trusted him. I even referred him to friends. A friend of mine, (another DUSD employee), reported that he hadn't received his tax return after meeting with Hrant. It was then that alarm bells started to go off. I signed in to the IRS Website and discovered that my tax returns had not be filed for the last two years! I immediately called A&A Accounting and could not get an answer. I left several voicemails and sent several emails. None of which were returned. Then I decided to check out their Yelp page. Well, I should have done that a long time ago because it sounds like a lot of people have had the same issue! Since my calls weren't being answered, I decided to show up in person to the office. They refused to allow me to speak to Hrant. First the front desk clerk told me he "wasn't in". Then that he was "in a meeting". Obviously, they were trained with how to handle people like me. I had to go to H&R Block to had my taxes re-done for the last two years since the IRS never received them! Luckily, 2022 was process before the deadline but I am waiting to hear back on whether I will owe fines and penalties for 2021. I want to protect the people of Downey for being taken advantage of the way we were. I believe in small business but A&A Accounting burned me and my family. Received a penalty for $4620.00 from the IRS because Hrant did not file 2021 tax returns for my dads business. He even gave us a copy of the returns showing that he had filed. Unfortunately for corporations you can't login online and find out if they have been filed. So I called the IRS and come to find out they hadn't been filed. There are so many other faulty actions from him but I'm not going into detail. FILE A CLAIM AGAINST HIM WITH THE IRS FORM 14157 AND THE STATE. file your taxes that he swears he filed Wait for the penalty notice Call the IRS they will waive the penalty File a claim against him I never leave reviews but this is a must. Still haven't received financial statements that we already paid for when we were his client. Next step will be legal action. read more

I've used Hrants services for atleast 6 different years and have never had an issue. Until 2022. I've recently gotten married and had a daughter, so my wife and I decided to use Hrants services this year to assure that our joint taxes and daughter were filed correctly and in a timely manner. As a month after filing was approaching, we still hadn't found our taxes on the IRS website. So from that point. I decided to reach out to Hrant's office. All of my phone calls were met by voicemail services from their front desk. I made a minimum of 14 phone calls on different occasions. I had left voicemails that were not returned and I then emailed Hrant. Who insured me that he had filed my taxes but would get back to me if he found any information. He did not. He did not send me another email after that, even after I sent multiple follow up emails. Hrant did not respond to my emails until after I advised him that we filed our taxes via turbo tax and had received same day tax confirmation. I called and was surprised to actually speak with the front desk and scheduled an appointment to see Hrant and discuss what happened and to ask for a refund. On the day of my appointment and hour before, Hrant finally got back to me and stated that he definitely filed my taxes but would honor a refund. While sitting in the front lobby. The receptionist left and then came back with a $100 bill with a note attached to it that had my name on it. No type of acknowledgment. Or professionalism from Hrant regarding the situation. Id have appreciated a conversation or my refund from him personally. Even after receiving my refund of Hrants Services, Hrant still maintained that he had filed my taxes and his front desk maintained the idea that it's just a crazy time during tax season and Hrant has a lot of appointments and clients. Silly me to believe that I was a client. In just about a month, we had received our state and federal refund via turbo tax and were able to find our information on the IRS website immediately. Safe to say I'll be going elsewhere to file after this. All would've been well had there been communication and acknowledgment of error. read more

I don't recommended this firm with your taxes maybe before but not anymore. I had a lot of questions and the owner didn't show up for my appointments I made 3 & he was always out of the office or "with a client" when I had an appointment already scheduled. I tried to do a phone appointment because the owner was always busy but even that didn't happen I was placed on hold and they said I'd receive a call back and I didn't. I was getting the run around. I used Hrant for our taxes for years! Always a great experience and then in 2022 everything went to shit and it's just know catching up to us in 2024! He supposedly filed our taxes each year and since we always owe due to be a business owner, we never had a refund to look forward to or follow up on. So I assumed it had been done. He would even print it all out for us! Come this year. It was time to file and Hrant was absolutely impossible to reach. So I ended up having to fend my us on my own and learned that 2021-2023 had not been filed! We owe so much money in penalties and I just can't believe all of this is happening. Do NOT come here to get your taxes done! Got my taxes done here back in February of 2022 and Hrant never submitted them to the IRS. I tried contacting him many times throughout 2022 and I would either be told that he would call me back "soon" (which he NEVER did) and that something was wrong with my taxes and he needed to call the IRS to fix them. All lies! I called the IRS and they never received my taxes or show any kickbacks for amendments needed. He is a liar. Sadly I trusted that even after a year he would finally call me back to fix them. He DIDN'T. Trust me and the other comments below when we say he will only take your money and NEVER file your taxes. I've been coming to A&A Accounting for a couple of years. Unfortunately, I didn't come to this location because I found it on a Yelp search. Prior to A&A coming into my life, I was a loyal client to A1 Accounting. Sadly, the owner passed away and the business was sold. I panicked for a bit but A&A picked up their old clients. Also, Silvia, who did my taxes at A1 also moved to this location. So basically, I was going to continue working with the same tax preparer as before. My previous tax documents also transferred over to this location. This made the transition very smooth for me. A&A Accounting is located in the city of Downey. They are situated on the corner of Rives and Firestone Blvd. You'll find it tucked in the corner of a small two story shopping center. The parking lot is small so it might be easier to just park at Stater Brothers Market next door. They have plenty of parking and it's easier to enter and exit the lot. Anyway, as stated before, I came here due to the passing of my previous tax preparer. So I've been working with Silvia for years and wouldn't go to anyone else. We've established a good rapport and she always asks the right questions to make sure that I'm not forgetting to claim anything. We talk about the new tax laws and how that affects my current situation. She has a wealth of knowledge and I'm grateful to still have her as my tax preparer. There are several people in the office that will prepare your taxes for you. I prefer to work with Silvia because she is meticulous about her work. My mom works with Hrant but I don't know much about him. However, she says that she's great and appreciates what he does for her. I come to A&A Accounting because they always take care of their clients. They are very helpful and will always give you the best advice. I live 40 miles away from this place but I continue to come back to get my taxes done at this location. Their tax preparation fees and quality of service can't be beat! read more

Do NOT use this tax service. I have never in my life heard so many excuses, been told so many lies and been treated so horribly. The office staff takes messages for accountant, Hrant Bedikian, who is never available no matter what time a call is made. The outdated voicemail message brags about customer service that is just not happening and then states for immediate response email the office and there is no response at all. Calls are not returned. I've been using A&A Accounting (Hurant) for years now as they came recommended by my parents. No problems till this year. Filed back in March and have yet to find the return on the IRS website. Called, emailed, even stopped into the office over the span of the last 3 months with no response, then I received a letter in the mail from the IRS that I didn't file CA taxes for 2020 which I have documents showing we did with Hurant. I call they say "I'll take a message" "he will get back to you" and no one ever calls back. I have sent over 7 emails with no response. When stopping into the office I was assured that I was have an update that following Monday as he was leaving early for the day and could help me before leaving on another vacation the following week. Never got an email, call or text. Thought this was somewhere I could trust. I don't even know how to proceed next. Disheartening. Customer service has failed terribly this year. read more

Hrant has left me dismayed. I filed my taxes in March and never received my refund. When I would check my status on the IRS website, there was no record of my taxes being filed. I called the office and asked to speak to Hrant, I left 3 messages with his receptionist but never heard back from him. On the third call, however, she said I could make an appointment to speak to him in person but only that day because he was going to be out of the office the rest of the week. I decided to just email him, because I don't live nearby and I work during the day. So I emailed him and meanwhile I checked Yelp and saw that there were several people that were experiencing the same issue with Hrant. That made me decide to schedule an appointment, I called back to schedule that appointment and the receptionist tried one more time to see if he would take my call so I didn't have to come in, but nope he was "busy". Once we arrive at the office, we're waiting 20 min past the appointment time, and we asked the receptionist if he was with a client (what was taking so long?) She said no he isn't, she checked back with him. When she came out, she said it'll just be 5 more minutes. When he finally was ready, we enter his office and notice the tv had a movie on. He also has a large bar cart in his office with half empty liquor bottles and had a Red Bull in front of him. Interesting. I told him how dissatisfied we were and he apologized and checked his system and said well I can see here that your taxes were accepted, so I don't know what's going on, there isn't any issue. Basically, gaslighting me. He blamed his receptionist for not receiving the messages from me, and said he will talk to her about that. We asked to see proof that he submitted our taxes and he provided us with a paper that looked fake and had a confirmation number. It also said my taxes were accepted 3/16/23 but I didn't even file until 3/31/23. Cool. Then we brought up the other yelp reviews and how he's doing this to other people. He said that SILVIA is stealing his clients and making them write false reviews about him to ruin his business. He said he doesn't understand why she's being so vindictive. Really, dude? I don't know what happened with Silvia, but I'm glad she's no longer associated with Hrant. We asked for a refund, and he said okay no problem. He didn't fight it at all, so he refunded my card and I saw it post on my bank account. Then we asked to see on his computer screen where he was getting the confirmation numbers from, and he got defensive and said I don't have to show you anything, you got your money, we're done here. Yeah, because it's all BS. We walked out and told the receptionist that he's throwing her under the bus (with other clients as well) and she was surprised and thanked us for telling her. I filed my taxes elsewhere the same day and the IRS website showed they were submitted almost immediately. I don't understand why Hrant is doing this to people. read more

I have been going to A&A ever since I started my consulting business in 2018. He was very helpful in consulting me on my LLC. He's a nice man and his staff was always very helpful. The nightmare started when I began to receive notices from the CAFTB stating that I owed them back taxes for 2020. I contacted him several times and never received a return call. I have a pretty busy life and time passed only to receive another notice. I thought he handled it because I hadn't heard from CAFTB in some time. Surprise! I received a final notice stating I was going to have my accounts frozen with liens. Mind you it wasn't a lot of money but I didn't want to deal with a tax lien. Since he never called me back, I called the CAFTB and come to find out he hadn't filed my taxes for 2020, 21, and 22. Three years of taxes have not been filed and I just checked my Federal Taxes and they've not been filed either. Luckily I'm owed a little bit of money and the fact that the IRS is so understaffed, so maybe that's why they haven't come after me. Incredible. 3 years of unfiled taxes not to mention the hundreds of dollars I paid him to do complete and file them. I've noticed other people have had the same experience. I met Hrant by chance while I was right in the middle of a tough business tax IRS audit that was going on for almost two years!!! Hrant offered to give me advise, and we set up a meeting. I was utilizing a different accounting firm for 5 years and this firm was responsible for my tax preparation and they were supposedly representing me during the lengthy IRS audit. Hrant reviewed everything and provided me with sound advice. I felt very comfortable with Hrant and at ease once he assured me he could help us get this taken care of quickly. I took Hrant up on his offer to help us, and within 3 months a 2 year audit was concluded and we ended up owing 10% of what the IRS had originally assessed because Hrant found some errors and omissions in the IRS assessment. Hrant had possession of my tax work from March 4th. After numerous calls and emails which went without response, his secretary finally called me on April 11th - 2 business days before the filing date- to tell me to pick up my paperwork as he would not be able to file it on time. Not only was I extremely disappointed in him, his lack of professionalism and consideration, I missed the deadline to file for an 'S' Corporation and have to alsopay late filing fees, interest and penalties. Terrible experience! We are a nonprofit Parent Teacher Association and it is now March 2021 and I'm still trying to get Hyrant to file our taxes that ended fiscal year in June 2020. He put them together in November but when I went to sign them I found numerous mistakes and overall sloppy work. I refuse to sign until they were corrected. I followed up every month with phone calls and emails. I never received a return call or a return email. I called a few days ago and asked again that somebody, anybody, even the receptionist return my call and that never happened. I can't believe that he would take advantage of a nonprofit full of volunteers in this way. There are also mistakes on our prior year taxes that they need to correct and we found out there was another tax year that he said he submitted that the IRS has no record of. So now we have a huge tax mess thanks to A&A. Take your business elsewhere. read more
