I had several trips with Northwoods Cab that were time-critical: one returning from an event that ended very late in the evening a few miles out of town and one very early from the Inn to CWA for the first flight out at the airport. Nothing but praise for the job Northwoods did. I dealt with the owner and two different drivers, and everything from the reservation process to the pickup was precisely timed, and the drive itself and drop off could not have gone better. It appears there aren't a lot of options for cab service in Wausau but I can tell you from my perspective and experience as an out-of-town visitor and frequent business traveler that Northwoods Cab delivered the goods. I actually thought the fares were extremely fair, honestly lower than I thought they'd be, especially given the distances covered. And the precise and courteous service was as good or better than I've experienced with cab services anywhere and anytime.

This is my 2nd business trip to the area and finding transportation is extraordinarily stressful. At least these guys showed up. So often times I will clarify for the resident what they are trying to say but I do have the resident try to communicate themselves. Today at 12:12 p.m. my resident was calling for a taxi and we set the first one up earlier but we had to set the second one up for when she was leaving her appointment. I had taken the phone and I was speaking for her and we were trying to get her ride set up back from her appointment. The person on the phone was so rude when trying to set up the rides and came across very snotty. I was trying to set up a ride back and the person declined to do it, I explained that the resident had speech issues and that it's easier to do it when I'm here. Her snotty remark was "then she'll have to deal with it then". I asked the woman to take note so that I could make sure the resident could get back. After that I said I really would prefer my resident did not use them for a taxi service because each time I have called I have always gotten someone rude. And I'm a pretty nice person so if I'm complaining there's a problem. Anyway I called back to speak to a supervisor and apparently the person that I had talked to initially was a supervisor at least according to her. Now I was issuing a complaint and I wanted it dealt with and I explained the resident has a hard time speaking and we need a way to set this up and the woman got very firm with me and was speaking over me and took a nasty tone. So I spoke over her and asked her not to do that and she accused me of yelling at her which I was not doing. I explained where I wasn't yelling at her but I was being firm because she was being rude and speaking over me. Whoever this person is has horrible customer service skills, before working in a group home I worked in customer service for over 20 years. This person needs to be retrained or let go and I would prefer retrained.
