Let me begin with NOBODY wants to repair their water heater in the middle of the night. I foumd A1 using Yelp, re-read the reviews, searched their website and called. Mind you this was after hours and a huge inconvenience. I made the call, gave the customer rep my info, address and they sent someone in the middle of the night!! Zach arrived, he was friendly and resourceful. He stayed a a few minutes and knew exactly what happen. We did end up purchasing a new water heater, and we received a good deal. Thank God for Zach and A1. read more

I was very impressed with A-1 water heaters. My hot water heater stopped working and I had no idea why. At the recommendation of a friend, I decided to contact A-1 Water Heaters since I am not familiar with water heaters or companies that provide service for them. My call was answered immediately and I spoke to a woman who took my information and informed me that I would be getting a call back from technician soon. Admittingly, I was skeptical as I was sure I would not hear back in a timely fashion and maybe not at all. I was pleasantly surprised when I received a phone call from a technician named Chris just a few minutes later. After patiently listening to my complaints regarding my hot water heater, he told me what he believed to be the issue, we discussed pricing, and we agreed upon a time for him to come over and repair it. Not only was Chris extremely punctual, he was also quite friendly, which eliminated my initial awkward feeling of having a stranger work in my home. When he finished repairing my hot water heater, I was charged exactly what I expected and he was on his way. It was such an easy process. I even received a follow-up customer service phone call a few days after my service so that I could provide any feedback as well as determine whether I would like a receipt mailed to me. It always says a lot about a company when they take the time to make sure their customer service is up to par. I highly recommend A-1 Water Heaters to anyone who is in need of service in the area! read more

Just called in this week looking for a plumber to help with my water heater. It was actually funny and just not getting hot all of the way. The guys were nice and have me an estimate on how much it would take to get it repaired. It sounded fair and affordable so I set up an appointment with them. The appointment was smooth and their plumber was finished in no time. I'm really happy with these guys. Good service. read more

The workers here gave me a great experience! Mike was super helpful and polite. His customer service skills was genuine and professional, which is so hard to come by in my opinion. After explaining how busy my schedule was this past week, instead of telling me what times they could come visit my home, they asked me what time work best for me. When i replied with 8pm, which is kinda late in my opinion, but thats all I could do, and they still agreed to do so at no extra cost! How awesome is that?! After Mike repaired the water heater, he made sure to check for anything else I may have missed. After doing so, he emailed me my receipt. Im a satisfied customer here! read more

A really great place to call, and really great people who work here. I was honestly kind of nervous to call in, because I wasn't sure how much it would cost or if I could explain to the technician what was wrong with my hot water heater. The technician was super nice and walked me through his questions so I could give him so answers, and he was also really honest about his pricing. He made sure I knew I could probably get a cheaper price, but there's a chance a different company would give me a lower price but then raise it once they were at my house. I ended up using them for the repair and am really happy I did. Seriously some of the nicest people work here. Use them, you will not regret using this honest company. read more

I started to freak out when I realized that my water heater was leaking, as I just moved to the area and definitely didn't have the money or the time to deal with all that stress. First off, can I just say that their customer service is outstanding? That's something you don't see much anymore. From the workers to the receptionist, everyone is very professional, informative, helpful, and friendly. I called several companies who either didn't pick up or promised to call me back and didn't- that wasn't the case here. As the receptionist promised, I promptly received a return phone call and Jason came to fix my water heater that same day. It's rough needing to replace something so expensive; yet, the service and ease of the process with A-1 made it worth it. Not only do they do a great job, but their prices are fair as well. I'm so glad to finally have hot water again! Highly Recommended. read more

Thank you Chris! He gave me a priority appointment and got me in the same day when I called in. I guess I should say he gave me a same night appointment. He came over even after his regular hours just to help get my hot water heater repaired. Thankfully, I didn't have to replace it. Chris was friendly from the moment I talked to him until he left. He was easy to get along with and helped me understand my water heater better than I had before. The appointment took about 40 minutes. It was simple and fast. Just a heads up, when you call I. If you know you're water heater gallon size, if it's gas or electric and how old it is, it'll save you some time on the phone. These guys are great plumbers that you can put your full trust in. I wouldn't hesitate to call these guys again. Fast service done by knowledgeable guys. You can't beat that. read more

Zach was great! He made sure I got a new water heater into my new place before I moved in. I made sure to get a much better brand this time around than the last water heater that was in there. The old brand was awful. They have the best brands to choose from. The work took about an hour and they set up an appointment for me the next day to give an idea on how fast the service is. He was all around such a cool guy and did great work!! I would use these guys again hands down!!! I feel comfortable recommending A-1 Water heaters to anyone. They were responsive, professional, reasonable, and good. read more

Amazing service and professionalism by A-1 Water Heaters! I was very impressed when I called them from a quote and when I eventually chose them to service my home. Zach came out to my residence and did an excellent job. He was friendly and got the job done faster than I ever expected. I recommend A-1 to everyone! If anyone is in need of water heater assistance this is the company to go to. They were able to fit me into their schedule with ease and made the entire process very simple. I am very impressed with their quality of work and their efficiency. read more

Couldn't have asked for a better experience when it came to A-1 Water Heaters! I was stressed and freaking out because I didn't know what was wrong with my water heater. I didn't know what to do or who to turn to, but thankfully, a family member told me about these guys. To my surprise and luck, I only needed a light replaced on my water heater. They sent out a plumber the day after I called in. The guy was nice and the repair was quick. I asked for a receipt and it got emailed to me within a few hours! Love it! Awesome work! read more

Great plumbers. Called in the morning aNd got the appointment for later in the afternoon. They're honest and won't make you buy anything unless it's necessary. Gave me some great information about my water heater, why it needed to be repaired and how to keep on it. Definitely recommend using a-1 water heaters over anyone else. read more

First time using them and they were great. Actually, this was my first time using any type of water heater business and I'm just really impressed. Customer service was amazing! Zach is a great plumber and I feel like I could trust him easily. He was able to answer all of my questions and most of the time he would elaborate on his answers so I felt 100% comfortable knowing he was experienced. We had set up an appointment for my water heater repair at 3:30 and he got there at 3:25. He was smart and on time! Great! He was respectful when it came to my home. I let him work and do his thing and when he was all done he knocked on my door and came back in to make sure the hot water was on again. I gave him his payment, their office sent me their invoice and everything was perfect! I couldn't imagine a more easy process or easier people to work with. Thanks for everything! read more

When I called the office to schedule an appointment the person on the other line was very pleasant and courteous. She immediately picked up with phone and greeted me with a happy voice :) Seems like a small thing but most of the other service companies I've dealt with are simply lacking basic manners when it comes to communications. Anyhow, Jason the plumber, showed up on time. I thought our hot water heater would need to be replaced since it was so old. He immediately diagnosed the problem then took the time to explain why it had stopped working before making the repair. Thanks guys! I will definitely use you again. read more

I've never used a plumbing service like this one but I have to say my experience was top of the line! They were really nice and made sure I knew all the options I had. They reiterated the fact that they would never want to pressure me into buying more than what's necessary and I thought that was awesome. I will definitely use them again in the future if I need them! read more

Highly recommend Chris! I was dealing with some challenges changing out my water heater due to the design of my home. Chris offered a solution that resolved the challenge and exceeded my expectations. He was very upfront about my situation and wasn't trying to push me into making a decision I wasn't comfortable with. He was extremely professional and had a great attitude. His workmanship was excellent and he left no mess behind for me to worry about. read more

My friend actually referred me to them and she was right about them! They were really nice, professional and knew tons about water heaters. I wanted to find someone who did the best job regardless of the cost because I didn't want to have to worry about another replacement for a long time. They set me up with a 50 gallon water heater from Bradford white and I bought the 10 year warranty. Feels good knowing I don't have to get another water heater or supplies for another 10 years. They guarantee their work for a year after install too. The job itself took about hour and 20 minutes. Which I thought was impressive. It was a great and easy experience. I got exactly what I wanted and in a short period of time. I highly recommend A-1 Water Heaters. They will take good care of you as they did with me. Thanks again! read more

I had a great experience with A-1. The work is fast and clean. I had full trust since I called the company! They kept communication clear and thorough during the whole process. Chris came out and fixed our problems and made sure everything was done to spec! He even made sure to ask if there were any other issues or concerns. I no longer have to stress over any of my house maintenance issues now that I have a trust worthy company willing to go above and beyond! Thanks again A-1! read more

Have you ever had to deal with your hot water heater being down? I have and let me tell you, it's awful. While looking for places to fix it I felt pretty confident about this place because although there's only a small amount of reviews, they're all positive. Zach ended up being the one who came over to the house to fix it and by god, I'm so glad he did. Zach is one of the one of a kind people who genuinely want to help you with your problem. After everything, I suggest to others that you take a chance and go for the lesser-known companies and you'll end up with a gem like A-1 Water Heaters and possibly even you'll get Zach and have a great day like I did. read more

I must say, that i am very impressed with guys at A-1. My heater drain valve started to leak and upon calling around, i decided to go with A1. They were the ones that were able to get to my house the fastest. My tech, Mike, arrived and got down to business. He was awesome! He was personable AND very professional. He took the time educate me on why issues occur in water heaters. I didn't mean to hover over while he worked, but he was quick, yet very THOROUGH. A true expert in his trade. I'm not a big fan when it comes to plumbers, home techs, etc only because you never know what kind of personality is going to knock on your door. Mike proved me otherwise. Again, very professional and a true expert at his trade. I HIGHLY recommend. Thank you again A-1 read more

Super happy with the service I received, they were late due to additional work on the job before but they called and let me know what was going on and made it to me well with the new ETA they gave me. The gentlemen were very professional and polite, they made sure they covered everything with a heave duty drop cloth. In General I think water heater installations are overpriced (500 plus in labor for 2 hours wow) but these guys gave me the best price and it was a positive experience overall. The pricing sting is more manageable when everything is performed smoothly and they accommodated me on a Saturday! I will definitely use them again if I need them and I will recommend them to any family who needs a new water heater installed. read more

So thankful for A1, our water heater stopped working less than 24 hours ago and Zack was at our house this morning to repair it. Low cost and extremely great customer service. Thanks guys! read more

Mike helped us get out water heater repaired and put us on a priority list since we didn't have hot water. The next day he got us an appointment and helped us out a ton. They charged reasonably too especially for such a fast appointment. Thanks to Mike we had hot water again and didn't have to live without it for long. Thanks again! I called a ton of different places before making up my mind on who to use for a new water heater. These guys stuck out to me in a good way. I think it's really important to get good service when you're spending so much on a purchase like a water heater. The lady who made the appointment was very nice and outgoing. The plumber who did the installation was also really nice. Their plumber had another job really close to my house that day so it hardly took anytime for the appointment to be made and have him come over. Great guys I would recommend them to anyone who cares about good customer service. read more

Outstanding service and reliable, plus they were able to get to me quick. My water heater died the other day, and me a cold showers do not get along at all. I was worried that I would not have hot water for several days, but they were able to get out to me the next morning on time to make sure I did not suffer with cold showers. When they came out they looked over the water heater and found the problem and told me the options to move forward. I was hoping that it might be a low cost part but it turned out to not be that simple. The guys reviewed the options and based upon the cost to fix vs. replace it made sense to go with a new hot water heater. The guys that came out were top notch and very professional and had the water heater in and running in no time. All and all I recommend calling them and not wasting your time with others. read more

My roommates and I recently noticed that the water coming out of our bathroom and kitchen faucets were pouring out at a lukewarm temperature, and no matter how long we ran it the water never heated up to HOT the way it used to. Since we didn't know how to fix the problem and didn't want to tamper with the water heater, we knew we needed to call a professional. I looked up yelp reviews for a reputable plumbing service, and A-1 Water Heaters had several excellent reviews so I called them. One of their service technicians, Zach, was able to come over that day. He first drained the sediment out of the water heater and flushed it out several times until the water ran clear, and diagnosed the problem: the dip tube, a piece of plastic at the bottom of the tank that separates the cold water from the hot, had started disintegrating, and needed to be replaced. We live in an older house, so apparently this is a common problem. Zach was able to replace the dip tube with a brand new one at a reasonable rate, and by the time he left hot water was happily flowing out of our faucets again. I was impressed with his efficiency and knowledge, and also enjoyed how he was able to explain the problem to me in a way I could easily understand. I will definitely call these guys again if I experience any other plumbing issues in the future. read more

I was so relieved when Jason showed up at my door. Polite, clean, articulate.... Yet patient and understanding, this is my first home and I had slot of (probably) annoying/ dumb questions, but Mr. Jason was a ROCKSTAR!! I had a super old hot water heater that was here when I purchased the house and it was leaking and I needed to get it replaced ASAP. They were VERY FAST at responding to my calI so I decided to schedule them. They were also going to take away the old water heater which was really nice. Out of the top 3 companies I called they had the best price, the fastest service, and definitely don't mind educating/ calming the clueless and stressed! Jason cleaned up after everything and actually finished quicker than originally estimated. I love this company just for the professionalism. Amazing company HANDS DOWN!! read more

Friendly staff and affordable prices. I was glad a co-worker recommended them so I didn't have to spend a ton of time calling around to other places. As for the plumber himself- he was great! Great service! The plumber was very friendly. Within minutes, one of the plumbers called me back and let me know he would fix it later that night for me. He got to my house on time and didn't have any issues fixing my water heater. I'm super happy with A-1 Water Heaters!!! They are the best place to get your water heater replaced in all of San Diego!! I'm not sure about other companies but I just know how great these guys did!!! They said that since my water heater was so old it would have to be replaced. They helped me get a bigger size of water heater for even LESS than what a smaller size would've been! Jason was absolutely great. When he came over to my house he was on time and really respectful of my home! He always made sure I was in the loop with what he was doing while installing my new water heater. At one point he said he realized he forgot something and apologized and went to the store. I thought to myself no big deal, it was nice he was willing to just hurry to the store and come right back!! After everything was said and done my new water heater looked so good since it was brand new! I even got a call from the owner the next day asking about how my experience was and was just double checking to make sure I was happy. He even made sure I got my receipt from the office! Thanks Jason and A-1 Water Heaters for the amazing service and for my brand new water heater!! Everything was perfect!! read more
