Part 2: The day after posting the previous review, I received another call from that Anchorage Alaska number (Tim). He told me that he saw my post and had no idea that Luke had done this. He and Luke had quite the showdown in the office. He wanted to make good on HIS estimate and would be out in two days. Upon arriving at my house he informed me that Luke had been fired and that they were doing an in-house investigation on him to see if he had been doing this for awhile. The company also discovered that Luke is the brother of the owner of a local competing chimney sweep business and that Luke might've been trying to way over-bid jobs so that people like me would go with his brothers company. Tim completed my job at a cost that was way below his original estimate. I appreciate people like Tim who want to take the time to make things right when there's an obvious wrong. Tim said that Ron (owner) was in agreement of his "fix the problem" attitude and this reflects greatly on the integrity of this company! I will NOW continue to use the services of this company and I hope that Tim gets a big fat raise for this! Tim definitely has a servant's heart and got $20 for his pocket from me for his trouble. Thank you Tim! Also, thank you to Ron! As for Luke (Where ever he is now), he can pick a cheek, pucker up, and kiss my ass!!!!!! It feels good knowing that I got an evil, greedy SOB fired by exposing him! read more

Service was outstanding. Kameron, was professional and thorough. Definitely would use them again. Which we have. Thank you so much

While cleaning our chimney, they let us know that they could also repair our roof. It was a relief to find someone local and reasonable to do this. They arrived on time, completed the work quickly, and double checked to be sure that we were satisfied with the job. They truly are A-1. read more

Update: Received a phone call and the technician came to the house in under an hour and inspected the chimney we wanted replaced. He will be sending us an estimate within 2 days and he was understanding to what our needs are and will be working with that. We are looking forward to have them do the work. He did say they are booking 5 weeks out due to being busy and we understand that. Original review: Hard to say if they do quality work, left messages no return call drove by in route to an appointment and seen that they were open so tried calling but only got voicemail. Neighbor tried calling them, left voicemail and no response. Very poor way to do business. read more

Daniel came out to clean our chimney. We just purchased the house and wanted to be sure that everything was good for this winter. He was shocked at how much soot was in the chimney. He was very thorough and meticulously cleaned everything. He showed us some areas we could improve to make our heat output. Very knowledgeable. We will be using this company every year from here on out. read more

Ron's team removed our 40-year-old tile flue (after a chimney fire) and replaced it with a new SS liner and cap. They also repaired our chimney masonry with brick that matched well and hooked up our new freestanding wood stove. They did a great job - we highly recommend! read more

We called A1 yesterday, thinking they may be a few weeks out for chimney cleaning, but they were able to put us on the schedule today. Daniel, our technician, was great! He did a very thorough cleaning of the chimney and firebox. We are extremely happy with the finished product! read more

After bad experiences with other companies, I tried A-1 Rooftop, and I'm so glad I did. The technician was very professional, and helped us determine and solve the problems that had been plaguing us. He was quick and thorough, cleaning areas of the chimney that had been missed by other sweeps. Now we're finally able to get a good fire going again! I will most certainly take future business to A-1 Rooftop. read more

Not recommended! Company uses scare tactics to try and sell expensive add on's, such as liners and chimney caps. If you just want a Chimney cleaned, call someone else. read more

Why are there only five stars? I cannot recommend this company Highly enough. If you want to be treated like a close personal friend, that's the level of service you're going to get from this company. Total pros that go above and beyond. I cannot say enough good things about this company. They had both the equipment and expertise that no other company in Spokane had available. I contacted 15 other companies in this area trying to find someone to diagnose and repair my problem and no other company was equipped to do it. We experienced a double chimney fire last year that caused major damage to both flus and A1 came out and took care of the problem. They were cautious and treated my home with respect, the team were professionals. The job that they did is seamless with my existing Structure. You cannot tell the old work from the new work, it was perfect. Ron also personally assisted us with the insurance claim and installed a blaze king that is beautiful and very efficient. We have not had one cold night since installing that incredible stove. When the inspector came out to review the work after it was complete, he said that the job has been done to perfection. It says that I'm located in San Francisco but I'm located in Spokane Valley. read more

A-1 swept my chimney and the technician who did the work mentioned some problems he saw, which sounded serious and alarmed me. Some of what he said didn't sound right so I had a level 2 inspection done by another company and they found no problems. When the owner of A-1 learned of the contradictory results he came out himself with a tech, cleaned it again, and ran a camera down the flue to get to the bottom of it. They showed me on the video feed what probably concerned the first technician and we concluded that it wasn't as alarming as it first seemed. There was no charge for this second cleaning and camera work, and I found out later when my Visa bill came that they refunded the charge for the first cleaning as well (without even telling me they would do so). I can say from experience that the owner really stands by his company's work and values its reputation to the extent that he'll come out personally to deal with any problems that arise. That's pretty rare. I'll hire them again. read more
