The manager of this place is very rude! I took my husband's work shirt for laundry and it's hit and miss. They were very inconsistent with the cuffs. It's not iron properly. I gently pointed out to the manager who is a male or maybe he is the owner. He told me that since my husband shirts are expensive I should do special care which double the price. I agreed! But when I picked up the shirt I pointed out to him that the cuff still look shitty. And his response was there's nothing I can do and blaming the fabric giving all these stupid excuses. Then he told me to go someplace else. Instead of being apologetic. He was very sarcastic and defensive. You need to improve your customer service! read more

When I called they promised next day service, when I arrived, they offered same day, wonderful. Everything came back perfectly folded and all socks paired with their sibling. A big shout out to the couple of folks who went out of their way to call and wait for us after closing yesterday, since we forgot to pick up my shirt and tie for a wedding reception today and had mentioned that we needed them by yesterday without saying why. After reading other reviews this seems to be consistent as you can literally see the business owner responding to bad reviews defensively and pointing the finger instead of taking responsibility. I had a bad experience here, I asked them for alternation, and they said the lady who does it is not here every day, so I asked them to talk to her and give me an estimate, and next they call me and tell me its ready, and her is the $$ amount, I am sorry but I wasn't asking you to finish the job and tell me here is the price, there is a language barriers for sure. And then when I picked up my cloths, I went with my 2 years old daughter who wears prescription glasses, the owner sees here and points to her with his finger and goes hahaha, what is so funny? You have never seen any kid with prescription glasses? Never going back here, not to mention their prices aren't cheapest around the neighborhood. read more

I brought my linen comforter set. I asked them if they press it and expressed my concern about it shrinking (assuming that it wouldn't because it's a dry cleaner) but this is why I don't do it myself at home. It's nice linen I have the right as a customer to be concerned. Helen's response: "we don't take ANY responsibility for shrinking it. If you say it shrunk that's because you shrunk it at home and now you're bringing it here to blame it on us. If you don't trust us we won't do it" Of course I don't trust you if you don't take responsibility for your work. Huge red flag and I will never go back. Before that I had been bringing my white lab coats mainly because I want them pressed. For months they charged me the standard rate then all of a sudden then Helen (my first encounter with her in the past 6 months) starts trying to up charge me for stain removal of tinted sunscreen that is on the collar every time I bring it in. It comes out easily and is not a "stain". I felt like she was just trying to take advantage and rip me off. I didn't leave a review then because I felt it was just a one off experience, but it has been two poor experiences in a row with the same lady who is apparently the owner. I don't know what happened to the other employees that were much more professional. read more

Great service all around! A-1's entire team is always happy and kind to all of their customers. I've never had a bad experience, and I've been using them for all of my dry cleaning for over 2 years. If you point out stains or if your garment has a strong perfume smell, they do their best to fix it without an additional charge. Their billing system is a bit outdated (they track your order with pink slips, but if you misplace yours they can still look it up), but they never seem to mind when I've forgotten to pick up my clothes in the past - they have plenty of storage space, it seems. These guys do a great job. We went in a brought my husband's suite for a dry clean. We typically go to Palo Alto to get it done, but we live closer to this location now. Glad we found an affordable option that does a good job. I will bring some of my clothes in soon to get dry cleaned as well. I was in dire need of same day dry cleaning. I live around the corner from here and figured they were the quickest and easiest solution to my dry cleaning problem. Dropped off a gang load of gear for same day service and when I returned at 5 everything looked good. Very nice ladies clearly busting hump to get our gear cleaned up so we can look sharp. I definitely have a new dry cleaner b/c the other one I was using, directly across the street, seems not to understand the concept of time. I will say that $3 a shirt is a bit steep, but i think that's simply because of the same day service. read more

I have been a customer of Dan and Helen's for many, many years. They are always so very kind and courteous and offer amazing customer service. Everything is always done to their high standards. But, this week Dan and Helen went above and beyond the call of duty. My college-age son purchased a hard-shell bike box that had a defect in the strap that was to secure the box. The strap was too short and needed to be lengthened. To make matters even more difficult, the strap is riveted to the box and cannot be removed. I brought in this awkward box and showed them what needed to be done. They said they would definitely give it a try. To add to the request, I needed it done by the next morning since my son was leaving the next day. They got right on it and called that evening saying it was done and ready to be picked up. The workmanship was impeccable - one wouldn't know that it had been moved and resewn. On top of that, the amount they charged was more than reasonable. My son tried to give them more, but they would not accept it. They indicated that they were just glad to help. read more

I started coming here for wash and fold when I was unable to get quarters for the coin-op laundry in my building because of the coin shortage. They do a great job, with a quick turn-around, and show great care for my clothes. Since then I've also gotten several items dry cleaned here as well, and even a dress altered. They've done really excellently on everything I've brought here, and are very upfront about how long something may take. We have been using this cleaner for about 2 years without problems for our family needs. However today when I brought a silk shirt to be cleaned and a spot on it to be looked at if could come out, the owner and staff member were very rude, refused to even go over what could be done and were immediately argumentative, telling me to take the shirt elsewhere. I got two pants and a jumpsuit hemmed. They did a great invisible stitch on my suit pants and a straight hem on my jumpsuit and other pants. It took a week a week. I love how they let you try on tour pants, they pin the pants, and check for your feedback. The alterations were done in house. I'll be back for alterations! read more
