Great little motel. Doesn't look like much on the outside, but it was great. The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable-- firm but not too firm -- and we appreciated the microwave and small refrigerator. The WiFi was outstanding. I ended up needing two simultaneous zoom connections and it handled that easily. The breakfast isn't much, but for the $81 we paid (Oct'25) that's fine. Totally got our money's worth. This is not a bad motel for the area, for the prices the hotels in the area are charging, it's not the Biltmore but it's clean. The hotel staff seem pleasant. The only thing I'd recommend as far as upgrades are the towels. They are a good exfoliation ha. The water pressure is real nice in the shower and the water gets hot! Overall if your not big on brand hotels this is nice. read more

In all fairness ...this motel has improved! You can see in the pictures that the rooms are really nice.on the upper row.kitchenettes and a couple smoking rooms.these are not as new but some new appliances.microwaves every room.need to ask for shampoo and conditioner they don't give freely same with toilet paper if you need extra.friendlier people more pleasant to deal with.small dogs are ok.no ice machine no pop machine or snack but store across road The price is right we loved our 2 room kitchenette! read more

The husband and I stayed here a few weekends and honestly we're impressed. It seems like they recently renovated the motel inside and out. The rooms are really nice and clean and come with the usuals (microwave, mini fridge, etc.) Most interesting is that they include Direct TV with HBO and high speed internet for free. It beats a Motel 6 any day. It was also the cheapest motel each time we stayed in the area and it's conveniently located off the US-97. The staff were always friendly and accommodating. It has now become are go-to place when going to Crater Lake National Park. On an unrelated note: T-Mobile users, the reception here is fantastic. We were pulling anywhere from 10-15 MB/s (yes megabyte per second) download speeds. read more

We were looking for a low cost motel and choose this place. The service was great and the bed was very comfortable. However, the bathroom had not been clean throughly and the entertainment unit was falling apart. I even went to the front desk to let them know so I was not charged for damaging anything. The continental breakfast was a joke, 2 different cereals and sticky buns. The fridge said it had orange juice but it was Sunny D. As I peered into the rooms that were being cleaned I noticed that they were in better shape. We were still glad to get a room at that low cost. read more

Booked the room through Expedia which had more current (and less terrifying reviews). Either ownership/management has changed or someone went through and did a major overhaul. Freshly painted, clean/decent linens and beds, relatively new carpet, no weird smells. It's an older one story motel that someone is working hard at making into a nice overnight stop. The bathroom fixtures and some of the furniture could use updating but when I'm looking for a motel late at night that's the least of my concerns. I'm just excited to not get murdered or attacked by skeevy bugs for $70 a night. Would I spend an anniversary weekend here? Probably not. But if I'm travelling through again and need a bed I wouldn't hesitate to. Also, nice and quiet hotel for a Friday night. read more

Not a bad room considering cost but had strangers peering through my window, and someone yelling out near my room who said slanderous things about me. Need better security to prevent this as some sick people are allowed to do things like this without management being aware of it while it was happening. read more

Horrendous! You almost feel bad because the lady and her young son are so nice. We Stayed their for work and moved rooms 4 times. First the fridge needed defrosted, then out A/C caught fire and last but not least I woke up with bug bites from head to toe! After a doctor visit and throwing everything I owned away the health department called me back and said they went and tested and didn't find anything! Strange because after I got home I stopped itching. Cheap stay but soo not worth it. We watched them take beds out of room 120 after it flooded, threw the beds in the gravel out front then after they let the room "air dry" they put the beds back!! Ewwww!!! read more

Stayed a night here and was pleasantly surprised. Friendly check in, covered parking (though we had a larger vehicle and trailer - and we were able to park it close to our room). Room was clean, no frills, bathroom updated and plenty of hot water. Slept well/comfortable bed. Super great value for price - and was better/cleaner than the name brand hotel I stayed in the following night that was double the price. I actually feel, it should be 3 stars, but given my overall experience i would rather err on giving 4, than 3. On to the experience, i have stayed at this motel for an extended period of time. Have to mention that the place could be organized a little better; the furniture, television set, telephone etc. seemed to have just placed there without too much attention to aesthetics. Having said that, for 60-70$ a night, it is a very decent deal. The bed was very decent (Room 127), and the room was cleaned once a week. I think it was Tuesdays. The weekly cleaning would take care of changing towels, paper rolls in the toilet. Cleaning the washbasin outside the toilet. Vacuuming the carpet, and changing the trash bags. The motel has a kitchen with gas. Yes, not just a microwave, a microwave and gas set separate (The two rooms i saw did have kitchen and a gas). There was ample car parking and never saw anyone having trouble with parking. Suggestion to the Motel: Could do with some better lighting inside the room, the sheets/cover used on the windows could improve a bit (but it is not a big deal), and we could, if possible, try to organize the room a bit better (though again it is not a showstopper). For a budget motel, i cannot give it a 3, has to be a 4. There is a nice Pilot Store across the road (Reminds me, the laundry has to be done at Pilot, not the Motel). Wow where do I start this place has really uncomfortable beds like sleeping on a piece of plywood with maybe a little insulation on it..there was blood on the bedspread and my wife couldn't sleep all night because she was afraid it would touch her. Recently stayed here on a roadtrip. There was a local event in town so many hotels in the area were booked. The room was disgusting; I was afraid to walk on the floor barefoot. There were no towels in the restrooms and the kitchenette had a peculiar smell (thankfully we could close the door). Weekly-paying residents were staying on either side of us and their personal possessions spilled out onto the front common area. The neighbors on the right yelled at their kids into the night and when they quit, there were 2 hours of silence until the neighbors on the left began playing techno music right up against the wall. Holy crap!!! I should have slept in my car. I'm not giving them any stars if possible. Well guess it won't let me. Damn a -5 star may be a bit much too positive. Thought for sure I'd be electrocuted in the shower. Only light that would sometimes work in the bathroom. Sometimes....but not often. Decided to shower in the dark and not take the chance. Did my make up in my car mirror which had way better lighting than the room. Furniture was trashed. Beds on some type of unfinished pallet. No nite tables or lamps. Overhead was sad and one small wall light. Couldn't see crap which was probably a blessing. What I did see was pretty scary. Took a wash cloth and wiped some of the filth on the door frame off. Bare phone lines and wiring. Closet was pitch black. Didn't want to unpack anything for fear off taking something home that I didn't want. Didn't see any critters but maybe that's why it was so dark. Had some strange fabric thing on the walls behind the bed that were big dust catchers. Had an asthma attack in the middle of the night. Got up did a treatment and while trying to wash my nebulizer in the dark part of it went down the drain which had no screen of any kind. Couldn't turn the TV over 25 so my hubby couldn't hear it at all. No way to adjust it. Woke up at 5 am and waited until 7am for coffee. No coffee at 7am either. About 8 am the owner left and came back a bit later with what I guess was coffee and breakfast. The continental breakfast was a very small roll thing that like comes in bags of 1000. Had given up in the mean time and went to the truck stop across the street for coffee. It was quiet though since there were barely any people there. I don't know how we ended up here except to claim exhaustion. We were very tired and should have just driven a few more miles to something that looked as if anyone even gave a crap about their property. I forgot my AAA tour book and didn't take my pc either or I'd have definitely known better. Close now and save other unwitting travelers a night of sleep. Don't quit your day job if you have one. Try washing a window occasionally and a bit of elbow grease and a touch of sweat might do wonders. Just sad...very sad. read more

Clean basic room at a true budget price! This is the 3rd time I've stayed here and I'll do it again.

I usually stay at the motel chains while I'm taking a road trip, but decided to try out A-1 Budget Motel because of the positive online reviews. The older reviews are really, really bad, and I'm under the impression that this place must be under new management. I am very pleased with this place. The price is extremely fair, the room I was in had been recently remodeled, and the staff was extremely friendly. I also appreciated the free breakfast, free WiFi, the HBO, and the fact that it seems pretty clear to me that they're going out of their way to make this a great place to stay for an affordable price. I really enjoyed it here, and will surely be back next time I pass through Klamath Falls. I highly recommend A1 Budget Motel to folks looking for a clean, comfortable, convenient, affordable place to stay. read more

We stayed here while passing through town on a road trip, and unfortunately were finding all the other hotels booked up. To give this hotel 1 star is brandishing it with awards it doesn't deserve; the disgusting carpeting didn't even make it to the walls in some areas (which I guess was nice that there were areas of reprieve from it). The room smelled.. but not of smoke, but rather a somewhat musty/stale grossness. I can go on, but I think you get my drift. If this hotel was "budget" it's price didn't reflect it, just the quality of rooms. The Wifi didn't work, there was a half finished electrical project on the wall beside the bedroom mirror, the "continental breakfast" was vile (bad coffee and stale packaged honey buns)... the ONLY positive thing I could say about this hotel is that the water pressure was good (even though the shower head was only 5 1/2 feet high and I had to squat to wash my hair). There wasn't a toilet paper holder in the bathroom (just a roll sitting on the back of the toilet) or even an alarm clock in the room!! Avoid this place like the plague! read more

What a dive! Something is wrong, when it states that there are no refunds after 10 minutes. I decided to look at the room and as desperate as we were to get a room (we had been driving since Bend, Oregon) and it was 4 a.m., we decided that we would rather sleep in our car then sleep in that dive. I slept the night before heading to Crater Lake. Don't let the humble exterior fool you. For the low price, I slept soundly in a very clean and cozy room. They have free continental breakfast. The hostess was very kind. The five stars are because of the overall experience but this is not a five star hotel. read more
