I found Jax Muay Thai through IG and decided to follow them and even scheduled three personal training sessions and classes to attend while in town. First impression: Jayme ( the first person I met at front desk ) was super nice and welcoming . She was willing to help me with paper work and even Introduced me to few trainers and even offered to train with me and asked if I wanted to attend her classes which I did!! Thank you The facility was big, clean and organized . They have everything you need from weights,kicking bags, stretching area, ring and a big space to train with groups . Personal trainer: I was assigned to Coach John. Amazing trainer !!!! Very informative, knowledgeable, patient and will really show you techniques. I've had few training sessions with other trainers in LA and most of them just tell me what to do, unlike Coach John, he was very detailed and really watches your every move from footwork to striking. I was really impressed by that ! He was worth every dollar spent! I can't even say anything bad about this place bec this is probably my favorite gym I've ever trained in. Thank you so much!!! Every single coach is so knowledgeable and friendly. I was a bit intimidated at first since I didn't have an ounce of martial arts experience before I came in, but the entire staff are so welcoming. It's truly a family there and they will know you by your first name on your second visit. Even the other members of the gym who have been there for years are so kind and willing to help you out on basics. If you are even considering taking a class, do it, you will fall in love! They also hold fight nights every once and a while which are a must go! This gym has such great energy I can't recommend it enough.

If you're just beginning you can take your time at each station and learn new exercises, as well as, freshen up your technique for those you are familiar. A skilled athlete will also learn to work the heart and muscles in a new capacity. Everyday is different, I have been a member for months now and I still learn new exercises. It's challenging in a way that makes me excited to show up each day. Mark is a great asset to the 9Round brand. He is welcoming and adaptable to each persons fitness level and needs. There are days when we are some of the first people to come in and Mark sees that one of the stations isn't quite flowing the way it should and he makes adjustments. He is encouraging and helpful, and makes our workout days fun. My main reason for picking this place was the fact that its right across from where I live, so that's a huge plus! I tried the first class for free and was super nervous because I had no clue what to do. Thankfully Mark showed me what to do at every station so I was able to kind of keep up. The whole idea itself is so great and different that I knew I had to join the next day! It's only a half hour workout, but that's really all it takes! The 30 minutes actually seems to fly by because you're changing workouts every few minutes so it doesn't become monotonous. I'm excited to make this my regular workout spot! This place is great!

An all around well structured set up to learn mixed martial arts but jiu jitsu is their main area of focus. The instructors there are helpful and knowledgeable and the black belt students will help you learn as well. It has a good environment of getting everyone to learn and progress in their skills. Students from this academy also compete at MMA competitions and jiu jitsu tournaments as well. They also do separate classes for white/blue belts versus the other higher ups so students that are just beginning can learn the basics without getting overwhelmed.
