HyperSwole is a local owned Sports Performance Gym (Owned and Managed by Jacksonville Axemen…read moreMatthew Thornton). Matt Thornton is the Head Strength Coach/Program Designer for the Hyperswole Sports Performance Gym. HyperSwole also has Chris Philips (ONNIT Certified Trainer) and Sean Rutgerson (Head Coach for Jacksonville Axemen/USA Hawks Rugby League Teams). All the coaches are always available and approachable for Fitness Programs, tips, personal training. Hyperswole is not your typical gym. From a quick glance you may think that the gym is intended only for the hardcore fitness\gym fanatics. While the gym does have dedicated members, HyperSwole Sports Performance Gym has a program for every one regardless of age, fitness level and goal. The daily group fitness classes (that can be signed up online/mindbody app) are also posted on the main gym monitor. KidSwole Classes for ages 7-14 are held M,W,F as well a new offering for Senior fitness classes. You always have the option to follow your own workout OR work with one of the coaches to develop a custom tailored workout to meet your fitness goals. All of the artwork around the gym is by Coach Matt. It adds to the uniqueness of the gym and compliments all of the familiar gym equipment. There are rowing machines, xbex bikes, LifeFitness Resistance machines, cable cross-over machine, dumbbbell free weight area, squat and press rack area, and a dedicated deadlift area. Also available are heavy punching bags, weighted/fitness balls, kettlebells, boxes, monster tire/hammer, plate weighted push sleds and even an indoor basketball hoop! As the COVID-19 Pandemic is top of concern with many, all of the gym members and Coaches follow the best practices of proactively sanitizing equipment before and after use. The small group classes also allow to spread apart with space for each participant. While the gym can be busy at times, it is never overly crowded to the point where there is a concern or you have to wait a long time for equipment or machine. This is especially true for typical the peak times of other gyms or fitness clubs. HyperSwole also allows members to additionally sign up for 24 hour gym access (for those who prefer to work out on off hours or at their convenience). Definitely worth a trial! You can always stop by and talk to Matt or one of the coaches with questions. For an idea of workouts or more details check out the website hyperswole.com

Not comfortable in a "normal" gym setting? No problem!…read more I was so excited to have a Hotworx close by! I've tried almost all the "trendy" exercise clubs, and Hotworx is by far the best. They are so welcoming and don't give off a snobby attitude if they haven't seen you in a little bit. Each of the rooms have a different class that plays every other hour for 24 hours. Between Hot Core, Hot Buns, Hot Yoga, Hot Warrior, and so many more, I never get bored. The FX weight area in the back is equipped with plenty of equipment. The manager, Ashley is so friendly! While Hotworx is more expensive than your traditional gym setting, it's much more accessible (24/7 hours) than other boutique exercise experiences and is much cheaper than their competition.

I guess it's normal, but there was NO reason for concern! I emailed CF Total Control on Sunday, and Russell (owner/coach) replied to me right away to let me know they'd love to have me. I showed up early for a 7AM Tuesday class, signed the waiver and jumped right in. Crossfit Total Control is an excellent facility - plenty of room and equipment, clean and everything was in good condition. Tom, the coach, and all of the athletes welcomed me. We did a good warm up, followed by stretching and then 2 short WODs. Tom gave great instructions and recommended scaling if necessary. The hour went by fast, and I got a great workout. I plan to drop in again before I return to California. Drop in fee was $15 or purchase a shirt for $25. I purchased 2 shirts! I had a great time getting my butt kicked this morning! If I lived here I'm pretty certain this would be my home box!

It is HORRIBLE. I hate gyms and the overwhelming feeling of starting another plan to work out - but I had to. THEN I met Coach Chad. This guy is amazing; super smart about strength training but also really focused on being safe at whatever level you come in at. I come in complaining about pain in my knees and back and every time I train with him I feel I am getting stronger and doing work on my weaker areas. It feels like strength training and physical therapy with one stop in my day. The environment at the gym is fun, serious, energized, with a constant message that if you do the work today it will bring positive change tomorrow. All my sessions are different and individually planned for me. Coach Chad is definitely not boring! I really appreciate that while I am complaining that I don't want to be working out he is telling me what I am capable of and that I just need to commit to show up, keep going and the motivation will come. JSA is brand new, the equipment is incredible, Chad is awesome and it's really fun to watch the Olympic Weight Training clients while you work out! I seriously recommend going in and checking it out. It will do really well cause Chad is that good. It has far exceeded my expectations.

I just finished up a free week trial at F45 Training Deerwood and I am super happy that I decided…read moreto check it out. There are so many positives so let me start with the fact that you can sign up for a free, no strings attached trial. I downloaded an app, logged in, and whenever I wanted to attend a class I checked the days schedule and booked it. The app doesn't tell you how full a class is, but the website does. I did five classes all week and I think the hardest class was Wednesdays Docklands. I was sore all over and drenched. The classes switch focus from day to day. Some days you are working on more strength based exercises, some days you are shooting for a high heart rate, and some days they mix the two. All the classes in every F45 worldwide is the same on any given day and they change the classes every 10 weeks. You won't be stuck or bored doing the same thing week to week. The owner Chris is very nice and personable. The coaches are fit and illustrate good form when they run through their exercises at the beginning of each class. They encourage you when you are huffing and puffing. They will correct you when you are doing something wrong so you don't hurt yourself, which is super important. They are also just nice and positive. They motivate each person in class to strive for their best. That may be the number one best thing I can say about F45. If you are shooting to shred some fat and gain some muscle F45 is a place where you can make that happen. If you can eat healthy to go along with consistent visits you will be looking different in a few months. I purposefully went the whole week before I asked about membership. I really wanted to get a feel for the gym without thinking is this expensive or worth it. Prices vary based on how much you visit, which is to be expected. It is about eight times more expensive than my current gym, but twenty times better. If you can afford it and take advantage of what you pay for then you won't regret it. I can totally see the coaches encouraging you to come in or not miss a day, so you hit your goals. F45 is new so everything inside still has a nice new look and feel. If you are used to doing your own thing at a box gym, this experience is different, but not bad. Classes last about 45 min with one class a week going a full 60 minutes. No more wasting two hours at a gym slowly going between exercises and hearing bro's grunt as they try and out peacock each other. In all honesty you will mostly zone everyone out during your workouts here as you will be working too hard. I am not sure yet if I will join, although I loved my experience, but you should definitely take a look for yourself. I had a great week and you will too.

It's not been my favorite studio overall, but they offer convenient times for classes and the workouts are always great, even if the classes aren't full or super high energy. The two coaches I've had have been friendly and do a great job during classes to help correct your form or keep you on track. The space is plenty large and I've never felt overwhelmed with trying to fit in with the other members or all of the equipment, Overall, I'd stick with a 4/5.

I first came in back in April 2012 as hesitant because I was honestly scared of intimidating work outs, will I look like a fool, and will I fall over for not being able to do the work outs. I loved the friendly staff and owners that I met on my first day in! They greeted me with open arms and helped me realized my health goals and what I need to achieve these goals. The workouts are GREAT! Every week is a different routine and they throw finishers too at the end of every workout. If you can't do a certain circuit due to injuries, they also offer modifications and work with you. They've now added BOXING!! Boxing is now my favorite part! Great cardio workout, help build stamina, and build self confidence too. The trainers & staff are great!! They're a fun, outgoing, and respectful group of individuals who push you to strive harder. I've lost more than 20lbs and counting! I'm more confident in myself, feel great, my asthma hasn't been a nuisance, and the trainers have also helped me find ways to ease my plantar faciitis.
