Personally, my relationship with the gym started through Alex. The entire staff creates a welcoming environment and the classes provide the right balance between pushing your limits and making sure that you are comfortable. Outsiders may think that training along side actual pros would be intimidating, but the pros are always welcoming and provide great inspiration for average joes like myself. In addition, their partnership with Autism Spectrum Mandate (highlighted recently by CBS 3 News), speaks volumes about the character of the staff at TKO Fitness. If you're considering getting into shape, or enhancing your current workout regimen, I would strongly recommend TKO Fitness.

After about a month I decided I would get the Groupon as a birthday gift to myself. The Groupon is a GREAT deal - $50 for 10 classes and a free pair of gloves. So I figured if it was a low risk and I could do it once a week and if I don't like it no worries. My first class Taylor was my instructor partner and she showed me the ropes. She was very encouraging and went over my fitness goals. She was my one on one trainer for the first class and stuck with me the entire time. The first 15 minutes is Conditioning and that was a shock to my system, you work out SO MUCH in that short amount of time! I have been going now for a month and I'm not going to say it gets easier but it does get less difficult if you stick with it! My endurance has definitely improved in the short amount of time! The bag rounds are the most fun, they mix it up so you're not doing the same routine. The instructors walk around and will help you fix your form and sometimes give you an extra push! After my first class I signed up for the full year membership. I never thought I would love a kickboxing class so much!! The instructors are super supportive and in no way full of themselves or intimidating especially for a newbie like myself. If you're looking for an encouraging environment that kicks ass and get you closer to your goals you should definitely consider this class! My ONLY critique is that I really want a Friday morning class so I can do a double training day! But I get that the instructors need even a half day off!

"Woohoo! As good as it gets!" ~ Yelp's 5-Star Rating…read more I think it speaks volumes that this place has a 5-star rating for all its reviews. I bought a 10-class groupon because the gym is close to my work, and I am so happy I did. I had tried kickboxing at other places, but this is 100x better than other classes I had tried. Rob is the instructor for cardio kickboxing and he is always super positive AND easy on the eyes! He really motivates you to work hard and get a good workout, even when I'm tired and really would rather be home. I really like that you actually learn the mechanics of kickboxing in a cardio class, other classes I've been to teach no footwork or how to punch/kick. I feel like I could be an MMA fighter now, after only a few classes - that may be a pipe dream, but I'm still really enjoying myself. This is my first Yelp review, but I think it's a worthy cause to get the word out about this establishment.

I facebooked them and they answered the next (since it was a holiday). They were really nice, courteous, and helpful. They even called my husband the next day and went over everything with him. First - barre was new to me and so I certainly wasn't use to this type of activity. For me, this was one intense workout that made me drip sweat like a land beast. I was sore after every class and really felt it in every muscle not just thighs or arms. Second - they have a lot of classes. You need early? They have early. You want late? They have that too. There is a class that will fit into your schedule and that's handy for someone like me whose work schedule isn't the same every day. Third - It's convenient and it's an attractive space in which to work out. Why does this matter? I don't know that it does, but so many people who write reviews always comment on the space if it's old, outdated, crusty, raggedy, etc. This place is new, modern, clean & cute. It's easy to get to, I never once had an issue with parking & there is a coffee shop literally 3 doors down for your post workout caffeine fix. Ok, so all that & only four stars? Well, it's small and the five classes I attended were all packed. I always felt like I was on top of someone or that I might kick someone if I didn't pay close attention. They don't have a changing room, I didn't know that for my first class & showed up in my work clothes & a gym bag. Their only restroom is inside the studio so you'll need to wait until class is over to go in there & change. That first time there was a queue of people who just finished working out waiting to use it and then me waiting like a dope to go change. I changed at work after that initial class. As a workout it is probably five stars, but as a whole, I never really felt fully comfortable there. I always felt like I was doing it wrong but seldom if ever got corrected. I always felt too clumsy, too sweaty, too frumpy, too fat, too much - but that's my own hang up not theirs. It's a great work out and fit in nicely between kickboxing & the gym. If you're going to give it a try, do yourself two favors - first, spend the $16 and buy the barre socks right away. Second, try to take at least one class with Marla - she was so encouraging and motivating, I wish she taught there more often but no matter who leads, you're going to get a great workout.

I was into sports…read moregrowing up and missed that camaraderie, but mostly powerlifted on my own with my headphones and RBF. But at one point I realized I needed coaching to move to the next level so I decided to give it a try at Hygge, and it was one of the most meaningful and fantastic decisions I've ever made (no kidding). I lost 10lbs (8% of my body weight), 4.4% body fat, my arms and legs are muscular, and I saw an ab for one second before I ate some cake so I have to work on that but the whole physique thing is coming along nicely. I feel stronger than I ever have, I rehabbed a shoulder injury easily, and am more capable of carrying heavy things, lifting whatever without much effort. Training at Hygge has given me a control over my movement that I'd never experienced before. The facilities are amazing, the coaching is amazing (at all three locations) Lifting cycles are well planned, goals are measured, and you are able to track and see your progress easily. They offer a TON of classes as compared to other boxes, and the caliber of instruction and training is unmatched in my experience (I've done some drop ins, literally had a coach compliment my form AND the scale I chose as he had never considered it before -- directly stolen from what we did last week at Hygge). Your body and life will change, you will make some friends, you will all become better together and you'll feel awesome. I am a convert for life because of this gym and these coaches. If you have doubts go in. These guys care so much about what they do and you as an individual. You do not have to be fit to start. You will get there, and you're only competing with what you could do last week and yourself. So is everyone else. Good luck.
