I just moved to Apple Valley a month ago from San Diego, we have these stores in San Diego but not this size! Your groceries prices are so reasonable! I am a sucker for the 99 cent store, the things you find are amazing. German Mila chocolate 99 cent, retails elsewhere $4 plus. Nutrition peanut butter same deal, oreos, organic drinks and foods, I am always blown away by the name brand stuff I walk out with, bags full of great stuff and at home noone can suspect where it came from! I am not a dollar store person and I normally avoid these stores because they are full of junk. I shop in this shopping center and always pass this store so one day I decided to go inside. I was impressed that they had so many different types of things inside of the store. They have a food department. I am not sure hoe fresh the food is but if you are tight on money or something this is a great option. I seem milk, eggs, vegetables, and canned goods. It was like a mini Stater Bros. They have pet food, car care stuff, and toys. I seen a lot of cleaning stuff and household supplies. I think young people and college kids could do great here. You could get soap and cleaners at killer deals. I did find a few items to use in my classroom. Cheap pencils with cartoon characters on them. They had a lot of sponge bob, mickey mouse, and hello kitty. kids love that stuff and I like giving my students little treats when they need a smile. I will come here again probably to buy more of the stuff that I could use for work and my classroom. They had a lot of stuff that I know I could use and save some money. read more

I'm not happy with a 99c ONLY store and walk in there to find $1.99 $2.99 $1.49 etc Why advertise .99c ONLY when it's NOT? !!!!!!!!!! Not only that but there charging $1 each .99c item .. Patient kind and helpful to me with my very large order and watching me transfer money to one account to the other but still so patient trying not to rush me though she needed to clock out . Carlene working very effectively at the register maintaining good pace , if this were an individual evaluation I would be awarding this individual in particular with 5 stars , managements direction to have only 2 registers with high foot traffic is questionable, store seems decently clean , customers tend to have little to no consideration for products being placed back associates seem to effectively keep up with stocking merchandise even considering the fact. I try to hit up every .99¢ only store I drive by and I'm glad I do. The Apple Valley stores are a whole different environment than the Victorville ones. I like that they always have something different from the stuff they always carry. Not everything here is 99¢ so they might want to consider changing their name to something like "mostly .99¢ but not everything"! Lol. I really can't be mad though because some of the stuff they have for 1.99 may actually go for $4-$5 elsewhere. I like their seasonal items a lot. You may have noticed that I am building a garden and looking to save money I bought some Miracle grow brand bamboo here. It was 12 for a 1.99 and I bought three bunches. I bought 3 gardening wire rolls at .99 each and a glue gun and glue sticks at a dollar each and made 9 trellises that saved me a lot of me! For the $11 I paid it would not of bought me one trellis elsewhere. Not to mention the $1.99 lights that were going for $6!at Walmart. If you have time take a look at this store! read more

Messy, empty shelves. Expired food on the shelves. Bad attitudes from management. Original associates are nice. Produce has fruit flies and flies inside the bags. Expired deli food. Un knowledgable managers. But the items that are actually stocked, and not sitting in the backroom, and are not expired, are a good price for the community. Company refuses to donate expired produce to the local farmers, like ALL the grocery stores in this country town. They would rather it overflow in their little dumpster so the homeless can go through it, and get sick, shameful. The prices should stay at 99 cent, not sell 1.99, 1.29, 1.49, or 2.99. For those that think this store is full of junk and stale crackers, I make this announcement: 99 Cent Only Stores BUY SURPLUS MERCHANDISE FROM OTHER MAJOR CHAINS, like Target, Walmart, Macy's and Rite Aid, including shampoos, lotions, sunglasses and, now and again, clothes. You can also get fresh produce, yogurt, frozen and fresh vegetables, candy, glassware and some household cleaning stuff is way cheaper then just about any other store, and last time I was in there, some beautiful corn on the cob, at a fraction of major grocery store prices. Hostess now has contract with them, too. On the FLIP side of this coin, the eggs and milk are priced as elsewhere, canned goods are not a huge savings, stuff like notebooks and folders can be had cheaper at Walmart, the restrooms are Blech, and the cashiers tend to be AWFUL. They HURL your order into those bags like their on Speed, so you may wanna bag your own stuff. But if your looking for some good bargains on Halloween stuff, this is IT. Skip Walmart. You can get everything you might need for what a bag of candy would cost you elsewhere. Twice a month I do my Dollar Store shopping and I must admit its saved me about $450 a month, and I tend to buy a lot of little extras. read more
